Hey,
other then the vid card, and the fact that my opty is a CABYE 0535 XPMW,
we have almost identical hardware..........using a BT right now.
So you have no objections to me using your settings to try and get an OC out of my OPTY?
I may just flash to the same bios........woudl you mind sharign the settings, see if we can get similar gains?
I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
:) what is the 1st 4# of your s/n#?
lap told me they had about 4000 pairs with best week chip and about 1000 pairs already shipped out and mix inside the 0602
my buddy ordered a pair from newegg last week and they're 601, I guess 602 will hit the street in couple more weeks since the egg still has lots of them in stock. :D
heheheh everyday they order about 100 pairs for CA and another 100 for NJ!!
they already had 0602 for 2~3 weeks
and.... just wait for few days!
another discount in newegg again
I have no idea....didn't even look at the numbers. I'll try to when I get a chance. I'll have some updated results soon. :toast:
got a set of 602 today from egg. i'll have to test them out now.
the RAM is at my GF's house with the rest of my computer.......I have yet to look at the RAM, not to mention open the box!
hmm my 602 would have been good if 1 stick wasn't DEAD. OH WELL RMA TIME
Every cpu is different guy. Just have to try it and see where you go. Just cause you get a similar or same cpu type as me, doesn't mean yours will go as high or lower. Just experiment.
Hit 2.6GHz with Ram installed, only thing I changed was the FSB 260X10, I will play with it more over the weekend!!!!!!
WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I order today the GSkill PC4000 HZ from the egg also. I hope I get the 602:rolleyes:
I have this sticks: http://www.pctuning.cz/ilustrace2/ob...Pics/stick.jpg
And OC is poor, max 3d stable is 280MHz@8-4-4-3@2.75V
Ok, you right, but i expected 300Mhz...:(
280 is good, 300 is great but hard to come by, if you want to sell your HZ for cheap please pm me and I'll get them off of your hands
i sent my hz in for rma a few weeks ago due to a bad stick, and after just checking, both the new sticks are 0602, i didnt know a certain batch was doing better than the others, ill test them out soon and post back.
Damn, Newegg has a $18 rebate starting today  . Check it out http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231021 If I waited for one more day...... oh well, I hope the new HZs are 602.
Dude 300mhz isn't even guarenteed with TCCD..Quote:

I'd love to, but I can't because of my motherboard. For two years I've had this Epox 8KDA3J rev 1.0 and never experienced the undervolted vcore bug, until now. Allow me to explain... I never changed the CPU multiplier from 10 because I always ran PC3200 and I figured 240mhz was good enough of an OC for Crucial value. So after buying the G Skill RAM - when I tried the multiplier at 9, I get about 1.4 vcore, won't even boot into Windows. I've tried every BIOS I can find. The only way to fix the vcore bug once it happens, is to set the multiplier back to 10, press the power switch, take out the power cord, press power switch again, and then plug it back in.Quote:

Just checked mine - 0602 purchased at newegg about a week ago or so.
For those who have the 602's, can you tell me what chips you have? Can you see if it is a CE-6?
I also have a set of 602 HZ Gskill though I can not see if they are CE-6. They can however run at 282fsb at 2.7v. Pretty good ram for the price
:fact: Uhhhh G. Skill HZ's are Samsung UCCC - always have been.Quote:

I want to know what is the P/N on the IC's for the Hz's. I know they are UCCC, but what is the part number? Can someone take or has a snap shot view of the IC's?
This close enough for you? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...step2/uccc.jpg

Nice HZ results:clap:
Hah, and here's me sitting at max of about 257 3-4-3-7-1T max stable on my HZ. I haven't seen one person do as badly with theirs as I have. If you think you've got bad luck, i've got an opty 146 which is not only the coldbugged CAB2E stepping, but likes to shutdown my system completely when under load at anything over 2.6GHz. The RAM won't go any better no matter how relaxed I make the timings. Believe me when I say i've tried almost absolutely everything to try and fix my RAM and my CPU problem.Quote:

If you set the memory timings to spec, 3-4-4-8, you will get higher results.
I received the 2GB Kit Gskill PC4000HZ yesterday from the EGG. I am happy to report the memory pass memtest86 at 275 with timings 3-4-4-8-1T @ 2.6 vdim. This is awesome with low vdim . Now my X2 3800 can run 1:1 at 270 x 10 with memory, and it actually outperformed my TCC5 ram (2 x 512) running at 2-3-3-6-1T @ 245.

*sigh* this is so depressing. i got these HZ's with high hopes of getting 273 MHz out of them. ive seen review after review of 270-300 and now i cant even get mine past 265.
im desperately trying to hit a stable 3.0 @ 273 x 11.
any suggestions?
That probably has more to do with your CPU than with your Ram, try setting your Multi to 10x ;)Quote:

i do notice that not a lot of people get high mem speeds @ 11x though. hmm.....
here is an a64 screen shot in case u were wondering:
linky
That is because the standard max overclock for the Optys is in the 3Ghz range.
So 300mhz x 10 is the expected speed.. if you really want to see the limits of your ram set your multi even lower.
shoot. i would LOVE 300 x 10 but im sure its not gonna happen. i cant even do 267 x 7, lol.Quote:

CPU speed. using a divider isn't that big of a deal.
Optimize your bios settings and lower your ram volts to 2.6. See if you can get at least 270.
f it. i had it @ 3.0 before so i wanna keep it at that whatever it takes. im at 9:10 divider for now.Quote:

ive tried optimizing my BIOS based on settings from this thread. a lot ive tried 2.5-2.7 + 0.3 and everything and still cant get past 265. its even iffy @ 265 too.Quote:

god. im such a noob it hurts, lol.
My HZ will do around 276 on my Ultra D 1to1 at 2.7v 1T with my CABYE 148 but if I drop the multi down to like 9 and crank up the fsb and use a divider on the ram Im good for about 285.
Nice results dude,:D
man...everyone is doin 270+ and i cant even do 265 @ 9x multiplier. this blows.
well, I will let the pic speak for itself :-P
though I have yet to get it stable other then booting into windows, and NOT runnig a benchmark.
I tried over 3.0, and just locked up!.....................
if I can find the right settings I am sure I can get stability @3Ghz or higher

I changed the pic to a JPG, its clearer now.
When I said "optimized bios", go into bios and select "optimize." Press F10 to save, exit and reboot. Now go back into bios and set for 260 ~270, and adjust vdim to 2.6. Leave ram settings as is, do not make any changes. Try this and see if it helps. This is basically what I currently have for my HZ ram.
BTW, your 290 is damn good! Can you share your secret?
well...managed to find a stable 3.0. guess i have to sacrifice mem speed for cpu speed.
any suggestions on how i can improve this?
http://www.msu.edu/~nguyenbr/3ghz.JPG
@blazin-asian,
FYI, your HZ at above SP2004 run is @ 250MHz, not 231MHz. To make a story short - CPU-Z is wrong. Anyway... Set TRTW=3, Dynamic Idle Counter back to ENABLE and set your Drive Strength/Data Strength to AUTO/AUTO (in case you have it set differently).
I take, you tried to drop multi to x10 (even though, your CPU seems stable enough @ 3GHz)?

Oh well lesson for next time, I first started with stock settings, and just changed FSB/Multi, after that I played around with different settings, but as I fubared my install of windows, hal.dll is missing :-P, I have to reinstall...........again hehehehe.
when I figure out the settings I will share. But what you see is what I got so far, it seems the chip/ram doesn't like 300fsb :-(...........well to date anyway.
hmm...where does it say thats its running @ 250? i thought since im using a divider that it would run a bit slower.Quote:

is this still at 2.5v vdimm? what DS/DDS do you use? prime stable?Quote:

and you are using what bios? :)
Using 704-2BTA right now. :toast: :)
I have tried the 704-2BTA from TMODS and it was totally unstable! Went back to 623-3 bios and now I am stable.Quote:

CRUSH-ER, at first, did you try and raise volts but found out that that didnt help and when lowered you were more stable?
Nah I started at 2.5, benched and kept going on 2.5. The ram hates volts, never needed to use more because I didn't post the max yet. I'll be posting a follow up when I get some free time that may like a few more volts. 287 isn't the max these do afaik.
Anybody have any 0603, I just got a pair in today from the egg.
I also just received a pair of 0603. Anyone have any details on these yet? Although I will be able to provide you with some tonight or tomorrow. :DQuote:

Well, very happy with the 0603 so far!!
I am currently in windows and passed Superpi 8m @ 275 mhz 1T, 3-4-4-8 timings. I also passed memtest in dos without even 1 hiccup. Perfect and stable at 275!!
Dom
Yea, I wish I was nearly as lucky as the rest of you guys.
Im hitting a wall at 260, no matter what I try, I cant get 265.
Though I think Im getting a good idea what exactly I need to tweak to get it stable.
Did any of you guys change something that helped drastically?
603 kicks ass!! received two pairs last week, @3-4-4-8 1T the 1st pair did 275 and the 2nd did 282 with only 2.67~2.69v. Both pairs are spi32m, memtest, prime, and 3d stable, already sold the 275 on egay and I'm keeping the 282 ;)
Max OC is 282 1T (3-4-4-8). :)
Finally got a pair of 2gig sticks that can run @ 1:1 with my 10 X 280 combo.:) Very happy right now. Results and screenies will follow shortly.
Dom
I have a pair of the 0603's trying to get them stable at 265mhz having issues
i have a set of 0603's that i will begin testing tonight.
Highest I can get is 255mhz no matter the settings:-(
I don't know what the deal is
You state PERFECTLY CLEAR what is pissing off all of us that spent big $$$ on this RAM before the price dropped.Quote:

I buy.

Then, I go out and kill people.

Give some more details and maybe we can help increase it. If not, crap happens. Sell it off and try again or go for something different.
Here you guys go.

I would set the board to auto settings on almost every setting to except set 3-4-4-8 and 1T. Try to load at your desired speed and see if the board is 32M SPi stable. If it is then start testing tighter timings. Here are some things I do to increase stability, but I am by no means a memory expert.
Did you set your drive strength or is it on auto/auto? Need to find out if the board wants to push them weak or normal and then start setting manually.
Try loosening tref to 3120. Lower idle cycle limit to 256. Disable dynamic counter. Loosen MAL and RP. Lower queue bypass (2-4) and bypass max (0-4).
Good luck. I'm about to start testing my 0603's very soon.
I just set everything to auto and it looks stable at 250mhz.... I'll test with Prime and memtest to make sure. Then I'll start playing with the timings.
I'm really suprised at the difference in stable settings compared to my old TCCD PC4000. LIke starting all over again:-(
UPDATE: No errors in memtest but Prime not even stable with 3-4-4-8/ Auto settings??? What the hell?? Gives me like 3-4 mins then errors.
Doesn't make any sense because I was stable with the old memory at 2.65ghz (10x265) but this isn't stable at 2.5ghz (10x250)!!??
Update:
I switched dimm slots from the 1-3 to the 1-2 and used G.S Tech's timings...
Passed memtest 2 passes and running Prime 20min as I write this. Good so far
Yea I have a set of the 603's one stick memtets to 292Mhz and the other stick memtests up to 253
Well, I have it running at 255mhz, if I go above that I get Memtest errors.
I'm wondering if its the memory or the board/cpu. I know this DFI UT LP NF3 250GB board and Clawhammer CPU aren't the best with memory.
Maybe I'll get an Opteron and a nf4 SLI board
Here is my 24/7 speed with my HZ at 273 1-1 1T at 2.7v. Im currently working on getting them totally stable at 285 now.
Whatd DS/DDS are you using?Quote:

Ive tried all the way up to 2.72v and it didnt help, it actually cause more instability.
