As we promised, Serbian XtremeOC Team claimed two new WR with
AMD Opteron 146. Results made on air was quite promising, so
our expectation was very big.

On following picture we can se enormous OC potential of this cpu.
SuperPI 1M test @ 3500MHz was finished with ONLY 1.55V.

First we broke Opteron 146 SuperPI 1M WR, that was held by Bachus_Anon.
Our result was made at 3651MHz and score is 22.703sec.

Another WR that we broke is Opteron 146 Max Clock wich was held by
"French OC Team" @ 3753MHz. Their result are very good, but not amazing. :D

No, we didn't use ACPI multiprocessor tweak since we found our Opteron 146 cold bug, and where is the sweet spot which we used to make both WR's.

In this DryIce session we focused our attention to brake max clock & SuperPI 1M WR for Opteron 146.

We will complete some other test's along with SuperPI 32M in our next DryIce session.

Thanks to all.As every A64 CPU this opteron had cold bug,and it was around -2 @ 380HTT,while at 350HTT coldbug emerged @ -20.Through entire DryIce session this Opteron was entering problem-free in windows @3700MHz which i find amazing.I will buy new pair of BH5 modules and try to improve my WR.Not bad for 170$ chip huh :)

I tried with -60°C today, f*ckin' coldbug @ -20*C for 390 HTT.

I saw 3799Mhz, i'll test tomoroww with a windows 2003 server, I hope 3813Mhz too :p

Yes, max clock was (3813) achived on only -2. That fact shows how fantastic this processor is. You can only imagine what the result would be if it had a coldbug @ 380HTT on -20 ;)
Vcore for max screen is 1.71v,
Temp during 1M is -14c when superpi finished job

No we didn`t use ACPI tweak since there were no need for it.BTW,my coleague Optimus already wrote when he answered to bachus.Processor was working very stable at 3651Mhz when SuperPI 1M was done,and it was`n his limit.For this CPU we didn`t need dryice because of coldbug,Vapochill or Mach would do the job perfectly.The MOST important thing is good processor,cooling is on second place..

I don’t agree with quent you got a hell of a chip, his 3753 was at -15C an my 3716 at -10C

You've got to give it another try, between -2C and -20 You really need to know at what temp and HTT cold bug kicks in; use x9 and x8 ;) When is this plan?

I can answer this question :D, UTKinghtmare chip is a 128864 (i know cos it was mine), BA's is also a 128864. These chips all seem to have come from the same wafer, :)

I believe you, i wasn't ironic, and I always said that you have a very nice chip. But for me, temperature doesn't really matter.

I don't understand why a chip who need -2°C ( coldbug :slapass: )would be better than a chip who need -15/-20 ( single phase temperature ;) ) Sure it's a better chip, but @ this temperature who could only be obtained with phase change cooling, it's not important ;)

Sure, it’s cold bug that makes the difference after all.
And his chip does not necessarily cold bug at -2C, but between -2 and -20C
