The web stores have been clearing out old socket 754 claws and newcastles for weeks now. My asrock mobo has just had a bios update for forthcoming socket 754 E6 venice core cpus, should be 3000+ and 3200+ E6 cores.

that bios update is for e6 semprons, nothing more. these 64bit semprons are based on e6 venice cores.

athlon64 line for s754 is eol, the only remaining cpu's for s754 are semprons & mobiles.

Very nice, can it go higher? I knew there would be venice cored socket 754 after Asrock brought out that bios. Socket 754 hasn't quite reached EOL yet.

i guess i trusted amd's revision guide .pdf too much. there's no sign of these there...

guys, you notice the stepping: CBBWE 0544CAC

the last part isn't _P_W, like it use to be on previous cpu's w/ venice core. anyone know more about it?

also on IHS it says 'assembled in china', old ones were assembled in malaysia iirc. i guess different stepping format is related to this.

P/A = location of assembly (P = Penang, Malaysia, A = Suzhou, China (?))
W = dictates if single or multiple wafer lots were used in this cpu batch(optional: W or nothing)

Edit: 3rd letter wasn't the fab site, but the assembly site.

I'd just received new CBid from VVJ, now CBid detect core name is Venice (look at the fist pic I'd posted, CBid had detected core name is Winchester)

socket 754 chips run one multi higher at each every PR.

First, look at the pic of CPU : ADA3000AIK4BX,A maybe she's socket 754 :D

Second, now CBid'd stiil detected clock 1.80 Ghz, she 's 2 Ghz :D

Maybe, I think CPUZ and some another soft have to update the new core name

btw, is that the case with all fab36 manufactured a64's?

Heh, you're right in respect of 3000+. I have a s754 Clawhammer 3200+ that is 2GHz and 10x mult. I'm struggling to see how an s754 A64 with those defaults can have two p ratings tho. Edit: L2 Cache?

that is correct. :)

amd rates extra 512kb cache with 200 pr marks and dual channel capability also with 200 pr marks.

so we have a64 3200+'s:

do all china assembled cpu's lack W letter in stepping?

That looks like a nice chip to have. I still use my s754 box as my main PC and one of these would do nicely in it.

I think S754 lost 200+ just for being s754 (single channel memory) so 2ghz by default sounds about right to me? :stick:

It's serial code. They don't want AMD to track down and when they RMA their stuff coming back to them... HAH you overclocked this. No warranties for you!!! or even worse.

well, the worst thing that could happen is that your mobo recognizes cpu as 'amd hammer family processor - model unknown' just like with dfi nf3 & 64bit semprons. and that didn't stop many ppl reaching high clocks. :)

Well AMD actually couldn't care less, RMAs are calculated in the price so that's not a problem. Also a picture posted on the internet isn't proof of you overclocking the CPU.

It's more like local suppliers which may give a problem, but actually it's bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: to cover up the serial.

You are right, sorry I've not told to you at first. I have 2 different CPU, one in box and another in testing.

I've only wanted to intruduce the box socket 754 and the OPN because my friend thinked it's the new Sempron.

Havn't got the stepping here (I'm at school) but it does 2,7GHz PRIME stable for about two hours(didn't want to try sleeping with a 190CFM Delta next to me, that's why I stopped PRIME). SPi32M stable also, but takes alot of vcore. Really cool CPU.

I'm not sure about the price but i think it was about $150-160 here too.

S754 3000+ CBBWE currently @ 10x260 on stock air.
PC3200 512MB crap ram @ 2.5-3-3-7 @ 217mhz

Onboard 6100 graphics get ~4k in 3dmark 2k1 at stock with the CPU @ 2.6. This board has a jumper for 3.3V on the mem too! Not bad for mobo/cpu combo for 180ish from the egg!

If you own a Tforce6100 like me I beleave it is possble to reach 3.5ghz at 350fsb. The sempron and the venice share the identical core on the 754. So it should end up ocing just as good as the others. As well as mine in the sense of fsb wise. But on air that would make it sort of limited. But from what I seen not so much. On air... it will prob never rank high enough heat levels nomatter what you do. You shouldn't even be close to the OCing limit. Will you go any higher with that OC? I will get a venice next week in my hands. With my ocing experionce and the look of these chips how they OC. Both of us should get the same OC. I'm sure you know you can go much higher. Just looks like your not finished OCing. OC the hell out of the hyper transport btw to get a nicer graphics benchmark. Enjoy that board. Will do 2800fsb if ya want it to. Look at my sandra info on my OC in my sig. Just make sure you start using a active northbridge. if not that will limit your FSB on the board on cpu and hyper transport. Ppl are pumping 1.72v into that 754 venice to reach 3ghz. It can sure take alot on air. 45C. Wow! :cool:

I love mine, it's a nice upgrade from the C0 Claw. It primes at 2.6 but games UT2k4 at 2.55 - I'd love to put more volts into it as it's running on water, but this blasted mobo won't let me. 1.44v max. meh. Asus, what were you thinking?

Unfortunately the machine is for my 78 year old grandpa to send email to family, so it will not see 3.0Ghz :( I turned it back down to stock and it will only run with the PSU fan (120mm in a 400W Fortron) for extreme silence!
