nice voltages! I noticed that my new 3700 has an odd stepping KAB2E 0532 XPMW and it is very less voltage thirsty than some... 1.49v @ 2805 is all night prime stable... I am going to push it harder once the AS5 sets. should be 24 more hours or so...
Huh? These aren't good results at all dude--he's using phase change and can barely crack 3GHz with it. People are breaking 3GHz wtih AIRCOOLING on the new Opterons.
Definately not 65nm. AMD is still a ways off from that. Not even Intel has it ready yet, and they're leading the transistion.Quote:

I think it is a dual-core chip with one core disabled (therefore a single core with huge die size). It's likely because of the revision - all 1MB dual-cores are E6 while all 512kB dual-cores are E4, exactly as those chips.Quote:

Hey all, I showed these cpu's to give you guys a peek at the future of the diego core - not to impress or compete. If that's the case, I'd ask all of you to show your cpu's and not show OTHER PEOPLE's. :rolleyes: If you wanna go that route, I'm sure I've got or had a cpu tucked away that could blow yours outta the water (and if I don't I can get one). Look, if you guys plan on crapping on this cpu anymore, please do it in a comparison with ANOTHER E6 Diego and not one particular cpu, which one person bought a certain week on a certain month in a certain year because that person's cpu would be just as hard to obtain as the one I have sitting here.... :rolleyes:Quote:

Related to Opteron 939 the only minor/major problem is that 144&146 models are lack in multiplicator. so it will be difficult to get 3.5G from a 144 , 388Htt :D ...

BUT now we can clearly say that sandy&venice are past winni&clawhammer in terms of medium cooling overclocking .

I'm trying to get the 3700+ booted on air on my old MSI NF3 board but it seems that I've got a borked bios chip. If I wasn't using my backup DFI right now, I'd be testing it on air. Seems I'm stockpiling dead boards atm - 1 dfi sli-d, 1 dfi sli-dr, and now this msi neo all sitting here in front of me :rolleyes: . I'll see if I can pick up another dfi soon ;)Quote:

Ok, something wierd is happening with my memory. My G.Skill FF's have been slowly declining in how they clock over the last couple of weeks. I had first noticed that I couldn't run as tight as before with my SD FX55, but thought it may have been a fluke. When the 3700 was installed, I thought it may have been a cpu problem, but after running some tests with the 4000+ in, I'm probably gonna pull the plug on these sticks and RMA them. Of course there's a slight possibility that this cpu has a weak memory controller, but I don't recall being able to run any benches @ 300+FSB 1:1 in a long time with any of my cpu's. The only way I was able to pull any somewhat high fsb screenshots with 4000+ in was to use a memory divider :rolleyes: :

I can't tell for sure with only two samples, but from the looks of things, it looks as if there's no cure for the flu in these cpu's. There's gonna be a few exceptions, but it looks as if there's still gonna be an epidemic :p: I can say, however, that it seems these cpu's handle the cold better than the few opties which have been tested @ sub-zero.....

I would like to update this thread, here in a few days or in the following week, I will have this cpu and i will be testing it and using it on Water for benching and 24/7 purposes, I believe the cooling I will be using I believe Stephen hasnt tried yet.

At first it was constructive criticism/comments, then some people got brave and started posting things that do not belong on any hobby-ist forum, then s7ephen got pissed (not uncalled for , considering the posts), the certain unconstructive people were in a way hushed and everyone seeing s7ephen can potentially get mad started posting super-nice and/or sweet words of encouragement.:rolleyes:
Had quite a nice laugh actually, anyways nice results with not that overclockable of a cpu, but the only way well see its potential is when it gets naked...:toast:

In case you haven't heard, A64 memcontroller cannot handle non-integer multipliers. Using one leads to a nasty lower-than-would-appear memory frequency. This is because A64 on die memctrl forms the mem freq using a formula that does not allow non-integer multipliers/dividers. If a half multiplier is used, the final mem divider is the next integer larger than the divider shown in cpu-z mem tab.
Not a single software out there is able to notice this... :(

Your BH-6 did not actually run @ 268MHz (nor 276 like your sig says) 3.2V but 254.9MHz:
Your CPU MHz:
9.5 x 268.33MHz = 2549MHz
Your DRAM freq:
2549MHz / 10 = 254.9MHz
