This ram run crazy with Socket 1156 & P55 Chipset.....
but i can't stable it with 2133 setting with i7-2600K and P67 Chipset???
(1866 CL7-7-7-21-1T run fine with 1.58V)
Would someone share BIOS configuration

Had a similar issue with Micron GKX with a DFI board, cant remember which chipset but GMH ran like a raped ape & GKX needed shoot loads of volts to do the same where as on the previous chipset GKX was the king.
Same here, I think it's CPU IMC dependent, where some CPU's have issue and others don't.
And I think it may depend on CPU clock too from what Stasio's been mentioning, IE works at 4.5Ghz but not 5Ghz+, I'll test this as soon as I can.
Same here... Corsair Dominator GT DDR3-2000 C8 wonīt run stable @ 1T. Max clock which i reach was 2133 8-8-8-24-2T (but only for SPi 32M!).
My old HyperX Kit with BBSE ICs can do easy 2200+ @ 8-9-8-24-1T :(
Tested my old Hyper kit here. But with a bit higher voltages. Using the F7d bios. Struggled with the ram voltage. It needed 1.68v vdimm and 1.16v QPI/VTT in the bios to finish SuperPI 32M. It's just the test I did though. Not for daily use I think.

All of my testing thus for with 2600K ES (D1) was with Hypers....it ran just fine. But I'm having trouble with my D2....I'll try changing memory settings and see if that helps. Are you guys unable to boot, or just unstable?

I'm using Mushkin MGH's, and these can do 777-21 @ 2000Mhz triple on X58 with only 1.72, haven't tested to see what they can do at 2133.
It does look to me like either BIOS slight incompatibility, or an IMC per CPU issue since it works at lower CPU freq for some. I haven't tested that myself, I was only trying at 5Ghz I think.
Was testing using F7a, will try again later with F7d at stock CPU speed and 5Ghz
Your above testing is on Asus, can you do the same on GBT?
I'm running on F7d UD7 right now....DDR3-2133 8-8-8 24 88 1T no issues....it's totally bench stable, but it won't pass LinX :shrug:
edit - this is with my retail D2
that 2133C8 1.7v+ was on UD7. this board can do 1866C6 at 1.65v. M4E wont even post at 2133C8, furthest was 1866C8, with whatever vdimm, VCCSA/IO :mad:Quote:

I could see it being that way for sure, since some can do high Bclk (Man that sounds funny:D) and some can do high multi while others can't do either.

Do you think that actually refers to Hyper IC based memory? Sorry, unsure if that is meant as an Asus BIOS term or something else Asus related, or actually means Hyper IC.
@stasio: I tried cl8. Pulled the vdimm a step back. I run the dimms on slot 2 and 4, if it matters. Btw, the ram I am testing is the olden Corsair TR3X6GT2000C7GT kit. Been playing with a G.Skill kit with PSC chips as well.Quote:

I'll have to test those advanced timings and see if it matters any or not. I am starting to think this is a CPU IMC issue though since some users can do it without any issues, and those cases would likely mean changing advanced timings like that wouldn't matter with a CPU that just isn't going to do it.
I got 888-24 to boot at 5Ghz, but no luck with 777-24 even with 1.8V or lowering to 4.8Ghz. Either should be easily stable, let alone bootable at 2133

It's gonna suck for users if this does depend on the CPU, then we'll all have to bin for a CPU with good max multi, and good IMC, which is twice as bad as the usual crapshoot.
What did you change to get the 8-8-8 stable, Lsdmeasap?
I am not sure how stable that is, but for sure better than the previous attempts where I couldn't even reboot upon saving.
I switched slots, and updated to the BIOS that just came out (F7d). I don't think the BIOS had anything to do with it, more likely the slot move I'm thinking, but I could be wrong.
I'll test later tonight back in slots 1+3, and with the older BIOS back on 2+4 and see which move it was that made it bootable.
777-24 still a no go though no matter what, and since others can do it easy with similar memory I really think that whether these speeds are going to work for a user or not is going to depend on the CPU itself.

That is with the UD7 bios F7d, my DIMMS are in slots 2 & 4
2133 7-7-7 has never been good for me on my ES or this retail chip.....but 7-7-7 was fine at 1866 as you stated Ed ;)
These DIMMs also run fine at 1866 6-6-6-18 60 1T on x58 with 1.7V....but they wouldn't even boot with my ES D1....still have not tried on my retail D2

@Dinos22: have you tried the Hypers on slots 1 and 3? I've tried PSC chips on both 1/3 and 2/4 and have good results. Haven't tried the Hypers on 1/3 yet.

I really have no idea if raising the system agent voltage and VTT to these levels is a good idea for 24/7... time will tell... maybe we can start a SB degrading thread again soon :)
SB is more efficient per clock than previous dual channel architectures, assuming all else is setup properly and the IMC can handle the workload, VDIMM requirements will possibly be higher on the SB architecture at equivalent MHz to P55 and X58 (triple channel).
Load transients on the VDimm line are likely to be a little sharper (dual channel) so perhaps a tad more peak neagative overshoot when going from idle to load - the workaround is obviosuly to notch vDimm higher to compensate. Also be mindful that most motherboard vendors use the same buck controllers between architecture generations; these will satisfy Intel minimum requirements but obviously increased I/O over the bus has it's effect. That's without getting into IMC voltage swing related changes within the IMC; most of these parameters are fully automated and in certain cases newer archirtectures are geared for higher density modules, which have different drive requirements.

If you can't pull 1866 6-6-6 your going to have problems with 2133 7-7-7.
My run was with 1.72 vdimm.......but I can run it at 1.66.......the 1.72 vdimm is because my timings are super tuned.
