SandyBridge breaks 5.6 GHZ and does benches a bit below...

Hey,

we have had rumors, reviews, availability announcements and everything about SandyBridge here, but not yet the current standings of clockspeeds. So here we go now 1 day after official release we see near 5.6 GHZ on that chip benching :hehe:

And there we have 5600 MHZ by Clunk cpuz valid - great job dude!!! :clap: :cheer:

I am a bit behind with currently 5595 MHZ but 2 cores :D

I simply like SandyBridge for everything it can do - close to 13s pifast is insane as well as the 1m times you get out of it easy. I am pretty sure there is some more potential that can be unlocked. as we all know "internal pll overvoltage" was the only thing holding us back at the very beginning. I am pretty wondering that not a single mfc has checked what voltages are actually applied and if higher ones can get us even further - we need more infos about that function and how to use it properly, I am sure I have some more room on my chip to go for sub 13s pifast :hehe:

what temps? did you adjust cpu inside windows? or all from bios?

nice! Im waiitng at chip and of course, love validation (my speciality with air :-) ) I can try it with air :-), Hope, it will be fun.

thanks! idle ~-30 (maybe - no temp under zero readable :( ) booting out of the bios, no rog-connect, no evo-software :)

If you are lucky and brave 5.550 MHZ CPUz on air should be possible :up:

i think intel never really invested with temp monitoring after celerons....

remember celerons could read temps past-80c....

since clarkdales the temp sensors didn't scale past -10c...

yeah temp reading is a disregarded point below zero.

Hah, even that would be a dream with Intel DTS.
Most pre-Nehalem CPU DTS sensors are unusable below 50c. Here's a nice table about DTS precision and some other facts: http://www.hwinfo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=97
That board should have other sensors as well, so HWiNFO32 might display them + some additional interesting values ;)

Hm, 43 W of CPU Package power is pretty low...

Sof 1/1 seems to push the chips a bit extra MHZ but are the benches better with 1/1 ? i wouldnt think so though?

yeah, i use the MIVE...

but i never test 24hrs because i use my pc also for other things than benches / prime ;)

It looks like 5 Ghz will be easy to reach on a lot of these chips, and 4.5 Ghz for definite for everyone.

My 4.2 Ghz makes me sad now :(

hmmm so with more tweaking we will have 57x running soon, and then 57x107 in a few months for around 6G... but then... sounds like thats going to be it...

x55-limit seams to be some kind of MB/BIOS-limitation, because these CPUs should do x57, theoretically.

Damn, nice. That's some monstrous OCing, especially 5.4ghz air OC benchable is nothing to sneeze at.

10K+ CPU on air is always nice with 4c/8t. :D

Imagine what these could have been able to do if there were no multiplier limits or bclk limits and on cold.... LGA2011 I hope for the best... 7.5 ~ 8GHz would probably be possible. :D

Because if it's MB/BOIS-related then we should see a few x57 among all these different MBs, at least.
