Six-Core Thuban Benchmark leaked

I've made a bench on Win 7 64bit (with 32bit cinebench.exe):

These had to be the most predictable benchmarks in history :D
Can someone please run Superpi on this to see if there's a (very slight) performance hit for the added cores?

I am tempted to buy a 1090T on day one now, but I know I should wait for chips manufactured at a later date. Heck, anything is better than my PII 940 now LOL.

The synthethic benchmarks aren't very impressive, they are what are expected. Basically, you got 50% more Cores, and have 50% more performance in applications that scales well with as many Threads you can add. The only thing that remains to be seen is the impact of still use 6 MB Cache L3 instead of 9 as you have less Cache L3 per Core should you be using all six on Full Load.
Overclocking results should also be interesing as with 50% more Cores, you are also going to consume 50% more power at same Voltage and Frequency. This means that you are seriously going to push the Motherboard and Power Supply.

The fact that it's still use 6 MB Cache L3 is not a big deal on desktop. Just take a look at the Phenom II X4 8xx which uses 4MB L3. Actually you can only see max. 1-2% performance drop in the worst cases.
Phenom X4 - 0.5MB L3 / core
Phenom II X4 800 - 1MB L3 / core
Phenom II X4 900 - 1.5MB L3 / core
Phenom II X6 1000 - 1MB L3 / core

the cache doesn't need to be any bigger. it's only help marginally in gaming.
we just OC (NB/L3) anyways leading to much higher performance lol
people always tend think phenom II is cache hungry when it is not at all.

I've always disabled it, especially when I had my first 650i it kinda made OCing flakey so I just scrapped it. Is it better now?

Maybe it will be applicable for the dual-threaded applications as well. There are many dual-threaded applications.

There are a lot of application that load 4 cores but not 6, so, this choise is good for me.
For overclocking, I think that disabling "Turbo" and C&Q is more common :)

Yeah, it's a good decision, imo. Totally makes sense.
Should be perfect for stability, too.

Scaling under cinebench seems ok per MHz, I'm not used to 32bit scores but I was under the impression that a 4x4GHz does about the same 12.5-13K as this 6x2.8GHz.

Turbo will be good for people that dont overclock, but make the cpu unstable if its not shut down when we oc (well the guys that push a bit higher at least). Also if you are overclocking youd prolly set the voltage to a higher level, as an example like I have mine set at 1.57v at 4.2ghz now ......with turbo on wheres it going to send that one core? 4.6ghz at 1.63v?? It will be interesting to test though.
Im particularly interested to see if we will be able to set affinity for certain cores, ex. 4 cores on a game 2 cores for background tasks.

I guess that the effect of AMD's turbo might be maximized by manually overclocking. When finding out the max voltage the cpu can suffer, control the "turbo voltage" slightly less than max voltage, then efficiency will be maximized.

Most games will GAIN performance because of the turbo. It`s only encoding apps and those that rely on all cores (including WCG) etc that would lose performance.
And don`t tell me about Multi-threaded games, because we`re not there yet. There isn`t a single game out there today that would lose performance from a higher clocked single core than 6-lower clocked cores.

Metro 2033 an AMD 965 with 2 cores disabled scores the same as Intel 980 with CF 5870s.

I cannot sure this is 2P mobo. But Look at the cpuz, the "Processor #1" cannot be selected, so there's only one cpu.

Speedup is nothing but the multi score divided by the single score.
Thuban has a lower speedup factor due to CPB making the ratio of single to multicore performance less linear. The single thread is running at 3300 while the multi score is running 6x2800.

I don't care about stock clock benches regardless of the turbo feature.
where the OC results lol. we fine tune this 6 shooter for max performance.
though turbo is nice for non Ocer's and single/dual threaded things

Considering the chip appears to perform almost exactly as one would expect a Phenom II + 2 more and it's running 50% more cores and cache for at most 31% more TDP I'd expect it won't exactly be a beast of an OC'er, but we'll see.
Just for the hell of it I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it will be about as hard to get a 1090T to 3.7 across all six cores as it is to get a 965 to 4.0Ghz today.

I think its kinda weird their current strategy is to keep refreshing models where they are and just adding a new core. I mean this is awesome but does anyone else feel like we're sort of in a processor hardware standstill? I can see more and more why AMD wanted to buy ATI.

Here is one set of the prices that were posted on a websites facebook page.
1090T Black Edition: 125(W), AM3 Socket, 9MB Cache, 3.2 GHz Freq @ 295 USD
1055T: 125(W), AM3 Socket, 9MB Cache, 2.8 GHz Freq @ 199 USD
Some of the other sites do show a slightly higher price but AMD said the processors would be under 300. So it looks correct to me.

Lets see i5 750 is around $200 so 1035T should be around $200
Next i7 860 is around $280 so the 1055T will be around $250-$280. This will not only challenge the i7 860 but also the i7 920.
Lastly the i7 930 is priced at $300 I would expect 1090T to cost around $300.

They're refreshing because most of their R&D is working on Bulldozer.
Which I really hope is able to compete clock for clock with Intel's offering, or beat it :D

Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition (3,2GHz/3,6GHz) will be priced at $295
1055T (95W TDP) and 1035 (95W TDP) still MIA in terms of pricings and 1075T (3,0GHz/3,5GHz) have been delayed for Q3...
