Nickel plating EVERYTHING...niceee

After i took some valuable advices and heard the opinions of some of you guys:up::clap: here:

i found a goog workshop and nickel plated all my mobo blocks, 2 ek and my new Heatkiller rev.3.0 They used electroless nickel plating and i paid 20€.

I like nickel and as i heard it works against corrosion. With my ek-4870x2 nickel block theymatch perfect and all that in my cosmos... i like it.
I ask guy in the workshop haw to clean them and he told me to use just water or chemical alcohol. Tommorow ill start the job...

Yes exactly i didnt want to change the copper bottom of my heatkiller so i did plate only the rest of the block

this workshop is i Solna - Stockholm and they did the job in 2 days! Real profs and the cooperate with hospitals also. I dont know where exactly you live but there are many other i södra Sweden also.

Yes the upper part is fully nickel plated - inside also - and i didnt have the heatkiller installed so i cant compare temps but i can with other blocks sb and nb. Tonight ill install everything and see...:D

Yes i didnt want to change thermal conductivity. I think pure copper has a little bit better conductivity than nickel. But again maybe thats my idea...;)

In fact, the TIM youre using conducts heat way worse than this nickel layer.. ;)

Btw any TIM suggestions? Lately i was using noctuas NT-H1 but im not really satisfied, its very thick. In the past ive used MX-2, AS5, Zalman but im thinking to go back to AS5.

Why deliberately lose anything at all, even if it is very small. You can't see the bottom once installed, so why spend the money and take a thermal hit, no matter how small? Makes no sense.
Very nice looking. I believe this would look great under the UV lights in my case. I painted the inside of my case flat black, so shiny stuff would stand out really well.

Those blocks look so good nickle plated. Personally, I don't care for the way the heatkiller 3 looks, but these plated ones look awesome.

Yeah you would never see the bottom. Plus it looks trick that way :)

Not sure that would be an issue. They are pretty close together on the Galvanic Corrosion Charts. A little corrosion inhibitor would take care of it, but I'm betting it won't be needed. I have to go to work so I do not have time to finish my research. Maybe you have time to do some?

Greg.M has no access to his PC just now. When, the other day, he tryied to remove/install his blocks it turned out that they had sent him the wrong parts and the CPU block didnt fit on the socket.
So his PC is now in parts waiting for its installation
He is in contact with the supplier to arrange for replacement.
