I want to see your pictures of the dustiest, dirties, cloggededest fans and compunents you have. :ROTF: Just want to see how bad things can get before you guys feel its necessary to clean em out.
Also tell me how long it took to ge that bad. Should be good for a few laughs. :shrug: Generally one would start off a thread like this with his own pic but I have always been kind of a dust nazi so i dont have any pics of clogged fans.

I cleaned my OCZ Vendetta 2 about 3 weeks ago, wasnt quite as bad as that rad core though...
I should have taken pics - surprisingly though it wasn't hurting temps too much at all
I don't think anyone will get as bad as mine :p:
I use air blower to clean my case once a month , but i will keep the dust for three months and i will post a picture :D

I should have taken a picture of my 360mm rad when I removed it from the top of my case for cleaning a few months ago...there had to be a 1/4" of dust on it - it actually had to be run under the faucet in the bathtub to get all the dust off. I literally almost gagged when I saw it.
Now it's hanging off the back of the case though, so it doesn't get as dusty.
What was your temp difference?

Lost a few C, nothing earthshattering but it was great to get rid of the dust just because it shouldn't have been there.

i shoulda took some pics of a freinds pc that was "Running slowly" i kid you not ....when i opened this pc i was greeted by what looked like a 1cm blanket of dust/fluff .......worst ive ever seen ....was a fire waiting to happen.

that wasnt my computer some client dropped it off saying its not working anymore.

i never let mine get that bad... it gets dusty, but she gets a good clean out almost once a month.
Okay that dell made my laugh out loud.
I once recieved an old Dell, was caked in dust just like that, along with mud, horse manure, a few spiders and cobwebs and last but not least....... a dead mouse!
I was like, "OMG WTF GTFO! GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS"
This PC came from a country park.............................. this particular PC was housed in an office ABOVE A KITCHEN that served the PUBLIC VISITORS!!!

I once found an aging half of a cheese sandwich in a PC a client returned. I was working as a drone in a PC shop at that stage, and it turned out the bosses son had done a half-arsed build job on the machine (which was why it had to be returned) and had left his lunch inside it.

This arrived to us last week.....complaint was it was giving warnings that something was "overheating," and locking up/freezing upon boot into Windows.
I removed the fan....you can see what was underneath. Neat part is you can see the clean spots left by the outer edge of the fan and the fan's hub.

But this isn't the worst I've seen (imagine opening up a case and getting hit in the face with the dead :banana::banana::banana::banana:roach smell and finding over 30-40 dead roaches everywhere inside, not to mention the "treasures" left by them....threw that one outside and made the owner pick it up immediately!).....or nearly as bad as has been posted here already in this thread.

Nothing more than an old toothbrush is needed. If its so caked on that you need something more, then dip your toothbrush in isopropyl.

i don't even know how they managed to fill their computers with that much dust. i clean my pcs like one time a year only and there's very little dust in them. some of the pcs look like as if 10 cats died infront of the pcs and the fans slowly soaked every little bit of the cats inside LOL!
living in a room where the pcs look like that isn't that healthy i guess :p:
