Looks decent to me, I don't know about quality & performance Alphacool can offer though.

:) look dam good
Looks are definitely a matter of taste there benleya. I personally think they both look really nice. Alphacool doesn't exactly have a stellar performance record but maybe they can pull something out of the hat this time. The more top performing blocks we have to choose from the better IMHO.
im wondering how the heck you can say its a fail without looking internally.
Hard to say anything without seeing the insides. Otherwise it reminds me of Aqua Computers Cuplex with custom top.
edit. Looks like there might be somekind of acceleratorplate like in Supreme.
http://www.alphacool.com/shop/images...owstone_01.jpg
I love the brushed aluminum mount. Wish they had something like that for the gtz-ek supreme. Reminds me of the aqua mount, but certainly not the top, which is fugly at best.. I wonder what the internal specs are like.
i think this is a nasty, cheap looking block....lets just hope it redeems its self with preformance
oo right sorry, NaeKuh, But it's got an acceleratorplate so it's a rip off of some blocks. maybe i'll change my mind in the morning. i'm in a funny mood :(
Internals should be interesting (don't like how close the opening are on the second one) ...
One thing that they really could have improved on is choosing a better color palette, second one reminds me too much of Iron Man :S
My Testsample arrived today - i will check the new waterblock on S775 and S1366 soon

We want internal pics ASAP!
*sniff* *sniff*
I sniff mixed metals.
they look quite good, waiting for the internal pics. when will you be able to show us the internals Bundy?
Based on looks alone I think the red 1 would look right at home on a Blood Rage.
Yellowstone Internals :)

might be that im wearing a red hoody and a yellow t-shirt atm, but i like the color combo... yellowish/gold + red... the internals confuse me a little bit... but then again, what do i know about internals?!
For what I see it will be average block, nothing worth to spend time and money on it, especially when overclocking on s1333, my opinion
This block looks like where done few years ago, my old AquaXtreme MP-05 SP Limited Edition block have twice as much pins inside and definitely will perform betther than this, this is like a pos after all :ROTF:
Thanks for posting the internals, Bundy!
The base plate seems identical to the previous alphacool blocks... not so thrilling.
Still, it will be interesting to see how it performs.
I don't know what they were thinking but the base is exactly the same as in older versions of NexXxos XP and accelerator/jet plate looks even worse. Well, let's wait for the test results but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Thanks for the internals bundy. Looks like I was wrong about mixed metals.
Although, between Alphacool and Innovatek, I'm starting to get this feeling that the fabled German craftsmanship I've heard so much about is nothing more than a myth, because the inside of the top looks like complete and utter crap. I see remnants of what the bar stock naturally looks like, end mill tooling marks, and their "special finish" (glass beading) gone astray, all on the inside.
Speaking of Innovatek, do you have their new i7 block yet? If so, could you post internals of that as well?
I donīt have the inno block for i7
..but, i got some new Yellowstone pics - now mounted. Test in progress :)

Nice! IMHO it's pretty ugly but if it performs well I could definitely look past that aspect. Can't wait to see the test results, thanks Bundy.
Internals are garbage... won't do any better than the MP-05 (remember those?) and let me tell you, performance is not good.
Here's a quick check for fitting-compatibility:
EK-Barbs (7mm threads):
http://www.abload.de/img/072pae8.jpg
No Problemo.
BP 3/8" compressions:
http://www.abload.de/img/7386mr.jpg
Nope.
BP 3/8" barbs:
http://www.abload.de/img/075kbl1.jpg
Close...
those picks remind me why I hate so much d-tek fuzion :shakes:
Yeah, it's really too bad when the threads are this close together.
I think manufacturers should make sure to accomodate for 3/8" compressions at least.
Well the Fuzion and Fuzion V2 were made before compressions became realy popular. Alphacool doesn't have that excuse though...
I think the block will perform better than people expect. The Nexxxos XP and X2 blocks did quite well in some reviews but for some reason they never became popular. This review by No_Name for example shows them doing quite well. Another review from Fre3k in the German PCGHX magazine also sees them doing well on a 65nm quad.
Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that review before. I had seen the artcile in PCGHX where the alphacool blocks won a bunch of awards.
Contrary to what I thought initially, the base plate of the Yellowstone isn't identical to the previous alphacool ones either, it's just very similar. So yeah, we might be in for a surprise here. :)
It will be interesting to see first results when they come in.
Review Update with Alphacool Yellowstone and EK Supreme LT :
http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community...d.php?t=549569
Wow is all I can say. Thanks for the update Bundy... Damn it, does it come in different colors!?
ATM the Yellowstone is only available with the red mounting plate, but iīm in contact with the alphacool guys and they think about some color options now :)
wow, surpassing the supreme, and with better flow rates, good work...
BUT
now I'm more interested in those heat killers!
I'm waiting for tests by folks I trust...
I dont trust that test either, cant be that crappy Yellowstone is better than Suprime LT, as in other tests Supreme LT looks like one of the best blocks thats made. Bad mount or something like that in my opinion. Cant wait when I will get my LT to test on Q6600, maybe then I will trust other tests :D
is this available in america? i'm curious how it performs on my i7
Worth considering that this is being run in a really restrictive system or with a low power pump, OCZ Hydroflow with a flowrate of 162 L/hour thats 2.7 litres per minute 0.71 gallons (US) per minute, when Martin tested it with a DDC 3.2 with XSPC top it was flowing at 2.41gpm that is a huge difference. The Ek supreme is a similar story 0.55 gpm for the review 1.50gpm for Martin.
What this means is that on the whole these results are of little comparative value to people who run in higher flow systems to take that a bit further Martin saw a 3.5°C difference between OCZ and EK this review is seeing less than 1°C
So what this review shows is that the Alphacool block (and the Watercool Heatkiller blocks for that matter) perform well for low flow systems, since this is what a lot of the European water coolers are historically using it makes sense that a block is optimised for better performance at lower flows when targeting a European audience.
new tops mounted :)

Wow bloody love the last combo lol.
I hear from some that this block really is a poor performer, looks like nik had it spot on ;)
EDIT : No this block is mid pack, maybe you were thinking of Niagara [what a weird name].
Correct, the Niagaraīs perfoms way behind the Yellowstone !
The Yellowstone is a very good waterblock and not far behind the Coolingking Heatkiller 3 :)
can i put it in a multi block loop on a single ddc3.2? or is it too restrictive ?
All testing by HESmelaugh and of course all credit goes to him =]
http://www.abload.de/img/flowblocks8iu8.jpg
http://www.abload.de/img/tempblocksmipu.jpg
From the above data, I would say it's great for multi block loops.
oooh i totally forgot about HESmelaugh's test  !!
thanks MomijiTMO
Hey what are you planning on doing? I noticed you are hoping to sell one of your 4870x2 and you had a single cpu loop. Are you going for 1 loop?
4870x2 already sold, preparing for i7 build on the U2-UFO so im moving all my hardware "see SIG" and WC to a smaller case maybe a TJ07 or MM Pinnacle 18, two loops one foe cpu and mosfet's and second for gpu and nb/sb " BP chipset block"
Ahh cool. Go with the Pinnacle for total Mountain Mods domination :p:
I got some new versions of the Alphacool Livingstone, check em out:
