Finally it's here! Soon we all can enjoy about this new masterpiece from Foxconn. I haven't test this board much yet, but so far it seems to be perfect.

Everything is easy as walk in the park :up:

Well, no more words. Everyone must test it by themself and see what I'm talking about.

Some first results are coming tonight. I will try LN2 too.

I don't know the estimated price yet, but as soon as I have that info, I will share it. I think Saaya will answer to these questions directly in here.

The waterblock tubing is 10mm. I have to check it later to be sure.

Certainly a board i consider buying. I would like some i920+3x2Gb+w/c nb testing like the build i am thinking about. Looking forward for your tests. Waterblock is aluminium? Can u fit 1/2 tube directly without adapters?

Waterblock should be 100% copper from what I read. The barbs have to be 1/2" for me too. I cannot really tell from the pics, but I am afraid those barbs are not removeable...

its funny how the evga 680i, 790i and x58 use the same kinda "NB" HS + fan and everyone hates it, yet everyone is on the blood rages nuts.

Waterblock is pure copper. The holes on the block are 10mm and 10/12.7mm tube is perfect for this. I use this size, so it is good for me.

Well.. there is only one place in EU, who have listed this, so we have to wait some time to see the real price. Tri SLI is not a problem if Dual GTX295 can clock high enough to beat Tri - GTX285 ;)

I haven't seen any comments about northbridge heatsink. You can put little fan over it and it doesn't take any extra space. I can't see what is wrong in that :rolleyes:

NB heatsink can be changed. Watercooling will also cool PWM just like in BlackOPS

That should fit fine. It may be a bit loose fitting, but you can make it better with some tightener. (Assuming you mean 7/16 of inch.)

"New bios"? That worries me this board isn't retail-ready yet. Regardless, can you update the BIOS from Windows or do you have to boot from a floppy and run a utility?

Is the system 24/7 stable at 4.6GHz?

Is the 4.6GHz OC with the stock air cooler or with something like the Cooler Master V8?

Are you using the motherboard's NB/PWM passive cooler option or the active cooler option?

Side question: At this point, do you think the Core i7 965 is worth $500 over the Core i7 940?

He's waiting for a new BIOS hoping for more performance enhancements as in better efficiency, more options, memory compatibility, etc.

Provided that you can cool the CPU to a decent temp, yes it can be.
Normally with a half-decent i965 and a rotary single stage phase cooling unit you should be able to run the CPU at 4.6GHz stable.

I'm assuming that you're not that familiar with the Core i7's.
4.6GHz with the stock cooler is like a wet dream... nah, that's just wishful thinking, it's totally impossible with a stock cooler.
Actually most of the current publicly available i965's cannot hit 4.6GHz with air cooling, nor water cooling as well.

Nope, unless you're into extreme overclocking using "exotic" cooling techniques as in Cascade cooling and Liquid nitrogen.

A i920 is more than adequate for everyone on air/water/phase.

I spend whole weekend with this motherboard. I tried to learn how to clock this board. Well, I can say it is easy. Everything is working well :up:

Speaking about Core i7... I have so bad luck with these chips. I have two and this is what the better one can do in Superpi 32M :rofl:

As stated before, the Northbridge waterblock is 100% copper with 1/2" barbs. A store here in Japan already had this board but only like 5 of them and by the time I found out they were already sold out. The price on the board here was 27,800 JPY which is about $309 so not bad at all!

I got some info about the price. It should be ~300 USD. It is really cheap, if it will be so.

Foxconn has so :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty attitude for Finnish market so many people wo´nt be buying their boards around here, no matter how good they are.

But they do´nt need Finnish market as they are aiming for larger selling areas.

Yeah, this mobo is cheap in my opinion if you look at what you are getting compared to other x58 options out there!

Saaya mentioned earlier the same thing about their departments and that China always delays when it comes time to send the product out!

On another note, has anyone found pictures of what the drive bay thing for the Bloodrage looks like when it is on?

Like this board, rampage extreme offers you the ultimate platform for Core i7, so no need to bash the prices.

Dreadnought was canceled, cause 790i chipset was pile of "****" . If you can't have enough working chips, there is no idea of selling high end motherboards. But still, paper launch is wrong word.

I'm afraid that it's not included in the package.
I've got a retail board here, and it wasn't in the package and there's no sign of a space for it, so it's not a mix up from Foxconn's packaging dpt.

ultimate platform for Ci7? R2E (at least mine) is clocking memory like crap. Give me any kit of ram and I can guarantee I can't get more than ~100mhz over the top, nor tighten timings, at any voltage. I've had 2 different types of chips, D9JNL and Elpida, both exhibited the same pathology. I'm about ready to change it out for this board if it can clock ram better.

I can't wait till it hits the market, got my eyes peeled. Also love that red and black design, it would stoke in my H2go...

After looking at the manual the only way that I see to update the BIOS is by using a utility called Fox LiveUpdate. Is this the only way to update the BIOS? My guess is that all Foxconn motherboards use the same utility so has there ever been any problems using this utility to update the BIOS in Windows? So far this is the only concern that I've got.

Nope.
There are several ways.
During POST you can press Alt + F2 to enter the AWARDFLASH BIOS Flashing utility.
You can use FoxUpdate within Windows as well.

When you download bios file, you will have all needed files for flash. Just use bootable usb stick, put all files in and you are ok. (It will flash your bios automatically)

I have used Foxliveupdate and there is no problems. Of course you have to be sure, that your current settings are stable :)

I just unpacked the rest of the stuff to take the photos for the review and I think I just noticed something weird.
There are two worm drive clamps ( to secure the tubing on the waterblock ) and they seem to be too big for small diameter tubing.
But on the other side I measured the diameter of the fittings and they're not 1/2".

I'll ask Saaya to check it out.

Review on Hexus puts a release date in January and if my conversions are correct, close to $420 for the board. Also, they state the 3 year warranty starts from the day it is shipped to the distributor, which I find ridiculous ifit is true.

I emailed Saaya already in regard to the QF Panel. According to the Foxconn website, the QF Panel is made for the Bloodrage but no pictures of it on or release date and prices. I'm just hoping they stick with the red and black theme with the display and not something stupid like the greenish blue you see normally.

Haha.. Well just use 29x197 settings and you are fine. I had some problems with high multipliers, but it doesn't matter much with my cpu's.

I also want to see how your memory clock on this board. That should be crazy too.

well i don't even blame the board manufacturers. (although asus has been a little shameless over the last years)

As far as i know most i7 are limited by QPI then overall CPU speed, so more cooling on the NB is more effective then on the CPU.

no, you can use the award winflash tool, which is what im always using :D

or you use awardflash, just create a bootable usb stick (i posted a guide in the foxconn tweak section here on xs, takes only 2mins) and then put the bios file, awardflash and the autoexec.bat file you get with the bios on the usb stick, boot from usb and the bios gets updated automatically... dont have to type any commands...

or you do the same with a bootable floppy, just put all 3 files on there, boot from the floppy and it updates the bios all by itself :)

im ma bit confused what all the fuzz about the barbs is? :D they are 1/2" , just not at the top, that way you can push the tubing over it easily. The internal diameter is slightly less than 10mm, which is more than enough to not restrict the flow, and if anybody uses bigger tubing, he can use the fittings to clamp it on the barbs anyways.

The only problem i can see if that tiny tubing wont be able to stretch enough to fit on the barbs, but that would have to be really small tubing... and we didnt think anybody would use small tubing on a high end board... :D
even then, you can get a step down adapter for 2$ in any DIY shop... :)

I thought to keep out of XS for a week or so, but here I am. Browsing this thread on Xmas evening. Well.. daughter is sleeping and there is not much to do while house is full of family.

Here is some information about CPU / VTT/ NB / Memory PWM:

CPU pwm has a independent controller for each phase, so each phase has it's own clockspeed and they are all controlled and synchronized by one large controller. Every phase is clocked at 600khz, which is normal, but since they are all aligned and clocked independantly, the effective clockspeed is 12x600khz, which is 7200khz.

Thit will beats any other pwm out there, even digital pwm's.

Vtt and memory pwm's are the same, so thats why high memory clocking is possible on BloodRage.

My CPU is clocking really well on this board and memory is hitting their own records. I saw that Fugger hit aleady 6min 48 seconds with BloodRage. That is crazy!

Thanks Saaya for clearing up the price confusion and explaining the warranty. I do agree that most that get this board will not keep it more than two years since they are probably overclockers looking for the next great thing. Anyway, the board is awesome. As far as the NB heatsink, I think you mentioned that any cooler could be attached to it as long as the holes lined up. Have you tried it with any other water block such as EK? Also, the holes for the 775 spacing, does this interfere with the 1366 back plate or can a 775 water block back plate sit on top of it? This would eliminate the need for a lot of us that already have 775 water blocks from having to purchase a new backplate and hold down plate. Thanks again for clearing a lot of this up. It is compatible, because the BloodRage has LGA775 holes as well.
I haven't used a LGA775 cooler on it yet, but I'm going to do that soon as I'd like to see if it's going to bend or produce worse temperatures with the LGA775 mounting instead of the LGA1366 mounting ( I've got both mountings for the Ultra-120 Extreme here ).

You can use your s775 monting kit. There shouldn't be any problems.

I use my Thermalright Full copper version with s775 mounting kit and there is no problems at all. Socket 1366 backplate can be under Thermaright backplate.

2.0V- 2.08V. These can do 1GHz 7-6-5 @ 2.2V, so I hve to try to get my Uncore speed a bit higher. This CPU is not good even at that :rolleyes:

These A-Data sticks have been really flexible. From "low" voltage to "high" voltage scaling is good. Tight timings are best for these, but with 8-8-8-18 etc you will still see some improvement.

I'm waiting new memory kit, so I could do some 2.4GHz runs :D
