What IC controls PWM?
Macro pics please :p:
Well, for default sapphire and MSI reference, I don`t have one in my hand right now... Gonna try to search.

Can some one verify if that suites?

Same IC as on 4850: http://ceemic.pri.ee/hardware/hd4850/hd4850_mod01.JPG
Pin 13 is FB. Try to search where it heads to.
I can`t believe, nobody will help?
flow the 4850 one with your in the right place one the 4670.
I can say those measuring points are valid.
And you don't even have to solder the ground, just clamp the wire onto the grounded ring around any of the screw holes.
nobody made it?
I will make i tonight and i wil search for the vmem also i will post later
Here is a Full vmod guide for the new Ati HD4670 gfx card

I have a His HD4670 512mb turbo 3 at 780/2000mhz and with vmod and stock air i can easely run at these speeds. 890/1251mhz and it gave me a 3. place in Hwbot.org in 3Dmark01

More pictures to come
P.S. the 3. place is done with my trusty old Shuttle barebone nice!!!
Update now the 2. place in 3Dmark 2003 is taken...

:o
Are those VRs glued on the cards or do they actually just hang in there by the legs?
That last pic would imply there is no glue... I personally wouldn't dare tuning them VRs if they were not fastened somehow.
They are just hanging there it was done quickly
Here are a new Wr in 3Dmark 06

nice score. That 4.2GHZ 8600 is helping. :)
It is running 4.68ghz!!
how good do you thing the cooler is you think ? 1,000mhz perhaps even up to 1,200mhz core ?
no way maby 1000mhz the fan is only doing about 800-1000rmp at max
any pencil vgpu mod?
anyone knows the mod for the sapphire board?
do you guys know how to force ati powerplay to work on this card?
Nice mod Risky,
How do you locate the VGPU control chip?
Ati powerplay works great if it dosent work on yours it is the driver there is something wrong with
Riska, thanks for the reponse. i've tried the past 3 driver versions (9.4,9.5,9.6). mine's a ddr4 version, could that be the culprit?
one way to confirm that ATI powerplay works is to see if the gpu clock goes down @ idle right?
Yes all of mine hd4670 clocks down to 165/250mhz
there's something wrong with mine then :( probably have to do with the card manufacturer's bios..i might try to use the saphire gddr4 bios
thanks
i'm new to this gpu flash bios thing..i'll prolly wait until i buy another cheap graphics card before i do this :D i'm gonna use that sapphire bios that has the gpu clocked @ 750 mhz (stock) and ram @ 1100mhz.. mine is at 750/900. i tried OCing it using ccc and it passed stress tests & 3dmark @ 800/1050 (ccc's max), however it random crashes @ idle while i'm browsing the net & stuff. i tried 750/1050 and the same thing happens. i'm beggining to think it might be caused by rivatuner & catalyst 9.6 not being compatible with each other because the crashes dont seem to happen when i dont open rivatuner..so i'm now testing older drivers that work with rivatuner since i cant OC the mems to 1100mhz using CCC.
my card is a reference ati hd4670 ddr4..but it came in a box marked triplex hd4800 series lol. the card itself has no brand markings, just ati and stuff.
the sapphire gddr4 hynix chips look like this:
http://benchmarkreviews.com/images/r...HD4670_Ram.jpg
i dont have pics of mine but the markings of the hynix chips are like this
HY5FS123235A
FCP-09 751A
as opposed to the sapphire models that have this:
HY5FS123235A
FCP-08 816A
are those the same chips? also, any important tips before i do the bios flash?
thanks :)
sapphire's ddr4 bios didn't work, no display :( guess i'm stuck to RBEing my card's original bios
Does anyone know if this works with Gigabyte 4670 too?
If it is ddr3 it is the same mods
You don't need both, you can do either mod without the other.
And both are for Vcore right?Or right modd for Vcore and the left is for Vmem?
Left are vmemmod and right are vgpumod
Thanx m8 :D
The one to the left is mod point but just try with your multimeter and check the point to ground
This is what my 1Gb card looks like.

I also moved some caps etc to the back of the card, so I could mount my pot.
I've mods done for ASUS EAH4670/DI/512MD3 <- there's to versions of 512mb cards from asus, this one is with spiral cooler.
I'll upload pics when i get back home :)
any help on this for HIS ICEQ model lol
http://i37.tinypic.com/10qcpbs.jpg
If my eyes aren't made from wood it that chips model is uP6201, looks like 7 but that one uses different package.
Anyways, pin 11 is FB, measure resistance between GND, caps - leg or from fan header. Should be something around 2.4Kohm.
Here's some pic. if these are correct 100K Vr between FB and GND ^^
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/2313/modih.jpg
can I measure from that resistor to ground or does it have to be from FB to ground. Not sure I can get my lead to single the leg out.
fb to ground im getting 17.33 m ohm
Well i did my measurments directly from that IC's leg, just to get sure which resistor is right.
Errr 17.33Mohm, that's wayyyy to much, recheck that by measuring directly from ic's leg to GND, and also since i'm not sure what's that IC's model numbers 4th digit is (uP620x).
Its a 1, can I like tape a pin to my lead to hit that ic only? its just too small
Pin13 on uP6201 is FB!
http://ceemic.pri.ee/hardware/datasheets/uP6201.pdf
I cant reach that pin there is a resistor blocking it rofl
any thoughts on what pad to use.
im no expert so def check with a MM first but this looks like it could be it?
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/4631/10qcpbs.jpg
Yes it works perfectly i have done over 10 cards and it is my pic
it is the same mod so yes
Sapphire 1GB model here. Looking for an easier lead than the FB13, that is way too tight.
Looking for a good spot to hook up an easy read point extension as well.
Cheers
it is exactly the same layout as the 512mb cards the mods i posted are the same as wel for the readouts
Hi there, I have another non standard PCB sapphire card. It has the same 1.0ns hynix memory but for some reason they are clocked at 873 Mhz. I can just reach 927 Mhz before artifacting.

What have you guy's achieved on the HIS IceQ AGP Radeon HD 4670 1GB DDR3?
I was looking over it's BIOS in RBE and it appears it's at it's max 3d volts at 1.250v and 750mhz.
I'd like to Pen Mod this to pull 850Mhz if possible... Maybe a little on ram too... Just need to add heatsinks.
THANKS
Can I simply Pencil mod it to higher volts? What kind of volts am I looking at with a vmod?
Running the HIS IceQ Radeon HD4670 AGP 1GB model.
As of lately this card his surprised the hell out of me! I'm running an extremely old year 2000 Dual 3Ghz 4MB Cache Xeon rig with 4GB of ram and this card. It runs like a champ and can run every game now at high settings and at 1920x1080. I game on this rig for the hell of it on my 40" Samsung HDTV. This system has a 4X PRO AGP slot and this card performs awesome!
Anyway so far by stock I modded the bios so it always stays at full 3d clocks. I was able to pass through 3dmark03 and during the gpu tests I saw from 100 fps to 1,250 fps which is pretty damn sweet.
By stock volts had it up to 815Mhz Core clock, and 975Mhz Memory clock. This HIS IceQ AGP only hits like 40C under max load...
