Firstly a bit of background - after I completed my first wc pc a couple of months ago my partner said - I love it can you build me one? So that is where it all started...then another Aussie XS member (I am sure you all know Disruptfam) said he was selling his parts from the v2000 tri-loop so I grabbed what I could to use towards this build. I am still waiting for a few things before it can be all put together but I have enough to get started

Next thing to do is start some sleeving and also work out how I am going to mount the 220 rad + pumps to enable simple tube routing.

Where are you gonna mount the MCR 220?

Also, whats the dimensions of ur tubing?

At the moment I am thinking of having it in the lower section of the drive bays standing vertically - only issue with that is that the 320 cuts into the top drive bay - which means I either have to modify the current drive cage or get some different mounts for the hdd's.

Tubing is 3/8ID 5/8OD with 1/8 wall thickness - great tubing - using the same stuff in my own build so when disruptfam said he had some as well I just had to snatch it up!!

Well haven't been able to get much done as I have been so busy with work - plus took the missus to see the new Cirque Du Soleil last night which was really good!

Was able to get a bit of sleeving done - thought I would try something a little different for this build and keep with the red theme...

Today I am going to get out the dremel and remove the mesh up top that is between the rad and the fans and work on mounting the 220 rad.

ATX sleeving looks great, what diameter sleeve did you use and what diameter shrink tubing?

+1...I agree the sleeving came out perfect. Nice job

sleeving is 1/8" for both the sleeving and heatshrink...took about 8-9 cables to get into a groove and the rest were easy.

I will need to get some more sleeving to finish off the pci-e cables and 8pin mobo cable as I only got a little bit to see how it would turn out.

I tried using 1/8 sleeves with 1/8 shrink tubing, but the tubing won't go over the sleeve :( so I can't stuff the tubing into the connector for a cleaner look.

Well the thought had crossed my mind - I am not going to be painting the inside of the case at this stage but if I can find a mb that is red/black that would be good - I was considering the DFI P45 board as it is black/orange....still undecided on the mb.

perhaps - I still have to sleeve the pci-e cable and 8pin cable for this build and then I am also sleeving the cables for my TJ07 build when I have the last couple of parts for that as well...

yeah I found this to be the case at the beginning but I stuck with it and worked out a method for it....you just have to have patience and nimble fingers.

Small Update #2- as previously stated with the 320 rad sticking out into the top drive bay it makes it impossible to use either a optical drive or the HDD bay device in the top without some sort of mod.

I ended up making some small cuts to the original HDD bay device to allow it to fit in "around" the 320 rad....hard to explain - let me just use some pictures instead.

Next thing to do is decide on a motherboard (tossing up between the P5Q-E and the DFI DK-P45-T2RS-Plus) and also the mounting of the 220 rad in the front drive bays.

I am also awaiting some more sleeving to continue working on the various cables I will be using.

Since you are going to be running an E8400, have you considered getting the Biostar P45 board that was used to break the OC'ing record?

I have used Biostar before and I do like the bios menus. I was thinking of getting one for myself, but I have an Asus Blitz Formula and I would have to sell it first, that's the problem with upgrading, :(. Anyway, just an idea.

I have had a good look and I think that I will change to this board - it is the same price as the other two here in Aus so thats a bonus! Thanks for pointing that out!:up: Should be able to have this by the weekend!

Nothing to update today - waiting on some more sleeving plus still working out the best way to mount the pumps and the 240 rad.

Dangals What brand of sleeving is that.... I like it because its a deep red most sleeve kits red is like a pinkish color that I have found.... Thanks and maybe a place to buy it too!

Yeah that is what I thought too but then GAM told me he was getting in some new techflex stock and it wasn't the UV reactive type (which looks slightly pink). Here is a link to where I bought it from....no idea where to get it in the states

I actually got quite a bit done today - got nearly all of the sleeving finished, mounted the 220 rad in the front, mounted the pumps and res....just need the motherboard to arrive (should be tomorrow) and then I can start to route the tubing and get this sucker fired up!!!

For the mounting of the 220 rad what I ended up doing was simply use some velcro to stick it to the side of the case - initially that seemed ok but I wasn't happy with the gap between the rad and the other side of the drive bays

So to fix that I took a small off-cut of tubing and jammed it inbetween the case and the rad - it also serves as a handy cable retention device for the fan cables running up to the controller. Here is a better shot of the tubing.

So currently everything is in place awaiting the delivery of the motherboard so over the next few days I will be able to put it together - do a leak test and then hopefully by the end of the weekend it will be ready to power up:up:

Why did you do that? For better air flow across your top rad? I think I might do that too.. did you notice any weakening of the case stability?

Yeah that was part of it - but I must admit for my TJ07 build the sleeving will be black but for this one I thought I would try something a little different. Pretty happy with the red though:yepp:

Yes it was to help with the airflow for the 320 rad up top. Case was absolutely fine afterwards

Sure - the window I purchased from a local shop cut to size with the holes already drilled to line up with the side panel - also included was a set of rubber washers and all you do is use the 4 screws that attach the mesh to the panel for the window. Simple as that. As for the Logo - well I simply took that off the mesh and stuck it on the window:up:

Looking very sweet. Makes me want to pull mine back apart and re-sleeve like you did, but it is such a pain getting the ATX pins out with a tool or using pins. Still maybe when I get bored. :D

Yeah I know what you mean about the tools - I originally bought two AC Ryan tools - snapped one and after that I simply grabbed a pack of staples - pulled two off the strip and folded them over so now they slide right in over the pin and it just pulls straight out - so amazingly simple!! If you decide to give it a go later on definately try the staple trick:up:

With that MB and the E8400 I expect to see a 4.5Ghz from you, :D. Seriously, this is looking sweet. Let me know what you think of the MB. I have thought about getting rid of my Blitz for it to see if I can get my Q9450 to 4Ghz.

Well it has been a busy weekend but I managed to get this nearly finished - still a couple of things to do.

But first the annoying - my Zalman fan controller seems to be DOA - didnt have an opportunity to test it when I bought it and so when I started the machine for the first time...nothing...:shakes: - so in the meantime I am using my sunbeam extreme till I get the Zalman replaced....so no frontal shots till then.

Oh and as the place where I was going to get my new CPU was out of stock of the E8400 and the E8500 I have resorted to taking my Q6600 out of my TJ07 to use while it is being rebuilt.

yeah when I got everything I cleaned it just to be thorough and for some reason I could not get it back on...no matter which way I tried...plus the more I thought about it the more I like the rough look instead of the other way up....plus its nice to be a little different:up:
