Corsair 9136 @ 1200Mhz with 2 X 2048
-
Outstanding!...any word on prices?
-
-
I'm betting these are 78nm Micron, same as in the new Crucial 4GB kits. Nice stuff for 4GB!
-
Another reason to hold off on my upgrade. Hope the prices are at least close to reasonable...
-
Yay, another 4GB kit to buy! I hope my PC8000 G.Skill works out so I don't feel like an idiot for under-buying yet again.
-
Let's see that on something that isn't 680i/780i before we get too excited. Still nice result.

Nope, these are not Micron. They're Powerchips, same as in our other 2 new 2 x 2gb kits, PC6400C4 and PC8500C5.
-
@DerekT : Request !!! can you try with timing 4-4-4-12 Please :) :)

Sounds like they're binned pretty strenuously then!

Yeah, that is why it took so long to get these parts made. We had to not only find an IC that meets our screen, it had to be available in LARGE bulk so we can meet demand.

Any word on price and availability?...are these 8-layer PCB?
-
that awesome!...looking forward to getting a couple of these kits
-
When and where? I've been waiting out for a 2x2gb set for about 2 months now, these seem to be exactly what im waiting for.
-
the 1066 2GB stuff does about the same on 680/780i.... not so much on X38 from my testing  Limit on X38 is around 1100-1130mhz 5-5-5-15.

same question i was going to ask

nice, we finally have a choice in super quality DDR2. its been 2x1gb D9G-- for so long now... i'm excited to see some 2x2gb kits that aren't micron.
-
wow.. awesome.. now i really wish i got these instead of the 1066's.. damn
-
great OC but keep in mind the motherboard it was run on
this will be much harder on intel chipsets unless those are not RAM limits
if this is micron more volts will help :D
i work in laptop industry and we get 2GB micron based RAM SODIMM so they definitely have smaller ICs to make higher capacity sticks :D but those D9 ICs are not as good for OCing as old school D9Gxx were

Yep.... DDR2 1200 is almost impossible on X38 stable with watercooling NB, max is about 1150 with 2.1-2.2v I believe it is a Chipset limitation, not a RAM limit..
Might be a lil diff story with X48, but I wouldnt count on it.
-
i'll test a kit on a few mobos and let ya know what the limits are :D

So would 1066 binned sticks deliver similar results on a p35 board --1100 /1140 range and as such the premium paid for the 9136 stick a waste? what if you were planning on running 8gb? Trying to determine if it makes sense to what for the 9136 vs 8500 at 8gb on a dfi p35 board (w/c nb & sb)

The 8500s do 1128 fine on Maximus :) and probably would do 1146 if the dividers werent so messed up. I would say its a toss up, these are very solid kits. Be looking for what dinos has to say though

600mhz ddr2 4gb nice work
-
That is very impressive, to say the least!

I have run mine 2x2GB sticks with 5:6 and 4:5 divider from 560-577 with no issues. I have seen that you have mentioned this in another thread too.
So if they are not the modules themselves that are giving you trouble
you should not blame formula (bios 0907) ;)

BIOS 1004 here, so I would say its the Formula...either that or it needs ridiculous voltage to go higher, I dont want to put 1.7v+ through the NB to make it stable.. :) I can drop the sticks on a P5K Premium and see what they do if needbe.

Ok waiting for your results.
Try moderate to see if that helps.
