I think there are many advantages with such a table.
no problems with mounting anymore.... easy to use....

As far as building one, google "navig's DIY benching" he built a pretty sweet one for cheap.

Make such a benchtable sense, because the rod inside the pot put more heat inside then necessary???
Or is this fact nsignificant??

There are more ideas to improve the version but right now no time because of coming exams for so called "Abitur";)
I will try this version of a benchtable..... with an additional frame, to fix the pot.... maybe i am back with pictures in a fewe days ;)

I'm curious about your solution. This frame together with a bracket to secure the cards is one of the things im planning to add to my current station (i've built for myself a little smaller one, only for one optical and one hard disk drive).

I will build my own bench table in the summer. It probably wil be similar to Navig his design.
My main focus is the frame insteat of a mounting kit for a DI/LN2 Pot.
A threaded bar to press the pot on the mobo....
room for HDDs and PS is just a "nice to have", bute not really necassary in my case ;)
The ARC Bed Air is really hardcore. very nice, very massive, awesome look!!!!
It shouldn't be to hard to transform Sunbeam acrylic cases to a bench table.

Acrylic isn't an ideal material IMO.. it's too prone to scratches & vibration.
That's why i don't use my DD waterbox for a bench station.
It's a good design for one, but the materials aren't ideal IMO. Might work if you re-created it in wood/metal.

I wouldnt worry about it Dinos- my DIY skills friggin suck. I was working on a baseplate for a dual-loop watercooling set tonight- measured everything carefully, cut carefully, drilled holes carefully and STILL screwed it up. :p: everything is just that bit squint :p:
In that pic of my mobo baseplate, all the sprung bolts are in holes that have been opened up a little to allow some movement- Most of them are slightly out-of-line....

Nice BND. Simple but it works.
I'm working on a 5.25 and a 3.5 bay right now, hopefully I can find the time to cut the wood and make one of these... would be very helpful as opposed to the phone book/mobo box.

By the way, those knurled nuts are also available at places like Lowes and ACE Hardware, or similar stores. They sell for about $.35 per piece, if you are not in the market for a box of them.

A bis disadvantage is.... just compatible for one kind of board...
One advantage is... just drill a few new holes, compatible with every board. Just four new holes takes but a few minutes and you're in business, just switch the mounting rods around.Quote:

What is the black coating stuff you used?
The black stuff is a truck toolbox liner, I found it at Lowes (Home Improvement Store if you don't know) for around $10 for 6 feet by 17 inches. The stuff I bought a year ago was a bit thinner and I liked it better but this was ok too. It's great stuff, really finishes it off nicely.Quote:

the easy one is not soo good for Ln2 benching, but so far for phase or cascade is good.
for ln2, is better the Hard one...
