I was wondering if it is possible to put a 2*120mm rad inside an Antec P182 without having to mod too much? I have searched on the net and found nothing...
In the picture (not my pic) I marked the spot where I thought this could be possible.. any comments are appreciated.

That's an interesting thought, never thought to put it down there. Is it tall enough down there? Another option would be in the roof.
Can you meassure the lenght from the front to the psu?
Using an MCR (or any thin rad) you could put it in the top, but depending on clearence issues with the motherboard, you may not be able to fit fans internally.
I thought about that when I saw all the (beautiful) TJ-07 builds in the water cooled case gallery. In the top is also an option, but you would have to cut two holes.
When you look at this pic--> http://hi-techreviews.com/reviews_20...2/IMG_2403.JPG it seems possible to remove the drive cage as well as the metal thing to attach your fan in front of the psu (you can see a small screw). If i look at Antec's website, the P182 has a depth of 51cm which makes it large enough to fit a 2*120mm rad. At least if you don't have a huge psu like for example the Enermax Galaxy. My psu is only about 22 cm long, with psucables.
edit: I don't have the P182 yet, so I can't measure

The pump is in the very bottom and the res outside. You could go without a res if you wanted, or a bay res would be fine too.
I put a PA120.3 down there once, much like the TJ07 style way of doing it.
It didnt go well.
Since I'm not so good with drilling holes etc., the radiator on top isn't my favourite idea... I do like it though :).Quote:

whelshtom what happened to your putting a 320 rad down there with the PSU,
give some details so our OP here will know what you did...
It would be nice if a pa120.2 could fit that case :D but I dont think so.
You can mount a radiator at the backside. The p182 has 2 holes next to the motherbord for the hoses.

Top mount only in this case. IMO
If you do a clean top mount, it'll work out better for you. Check out my worklog and Looker's case

You can barely fit an MCR220 down there with a corsair HX620 from my meaurements, you can also fit an 220 on top, the only 320 that might fit is the BI GT, also dependant on mobo.

The BIP's have a hard time fitting on the top two in the P182, ever since antec moved the mobo tray out a bit the rear exhaust is about 4mm to small for a BIP, a swiftech MCR should fit, the top depends on if it interferes with your mobo. That is why I ran one up front and one on bottom for a while.

- it also involves modding, as you have to get rid of the fan holder in the middle

A P18x is not an ideal case for inside watercooling. Very good for air, but not mod-
friendly, which is necessary for water. If I was doing it all over again, I wouldn't
have gone with this case for watercooling.
Mounting the rad outside is easier and cleaner.
Agreed, if I were choosing a case again I would of gone with something a little less restrictive in layout. There are few options for internal watercooling in the P182, externally mounting the rad is by far the better option.Quote:

Just looked more closely..you need to do some cutting as well on the upper 5.25 bays....damn they made it harder to WC the P182...
I think he means that the lowest 5.25" bay is not easily removable like on the P180, you should still be able to do this mod, just might be a messier cut.

The only places you can mount a rad without modification is in front of the PSU, the rear and top 120mm fans, all depending on the radiator chosen, the Thermochills won't fit on any of them and the rear won't fit a Black ice series because it is a tad bit too wide for the P182's(I've tried) the swiftech MCR works, and a BI GT for the top to minimize interference with the mobo.Quote:

I already have a 2*120mm rad and a pump with reservoir which I'm both planning to use in my new build. This new build will be all about silence, so extremely good watercooling ain't that important.
I have to apologize, since it seems I wasn't very clear on how I want to put my rad... I wasn't planning on putting it straight like in the TJ-07.. but rather have it on the bottom of the case, with fans on top of it. I know this is absolutely crap for airflow and cooling the rad.. but like I said before, that is not important, silence is. I've seen this in some builds (other cases), and it seemed to work for them.
I'll have to mod a bit, like removing the mid fan holder.. or drill some holes so it can suck some air in from the bottom, or holes for tubing. But it will never be as much work as modding the the top panel.
Anyway, thanks again all for the replies.. any comments on the last things I said will be appreciated as much :).

As promised here are some pics of my nearly completed setup, still waiting for some better tubing (black Tygon, the one I have now kinks immediately) and need to make sure the air coming from my rad goes outside the cage. After all I'm really pleased about the setup. Probably not the best solution temp/performance wise.. but my rad and pomp are inside the case, my setup ain't noisy at all and temps are fine enough for me.

You should remove the frame for the Hdd box in bottom and mount the radiator on proper screw with some distance to the buttom.

Only problem is that BIP's are to big so i can't put on the side panel
I'm also thinking about making a cut in the 5,25" drive cage (since i have an external dvd burner) so can mount a dual in front..

Ur rad will rebreathe alot of its own air. only fresh air it gets is the air the psu pulls from the front. Meaning, basically ur cooling the rad with only the psu.
If u remove the fans on the rad and put one in front, then u mount the rad in a angle hitting the roof in front where the fan is and hitting the bottom where the psu is. Then u make a shroud of cardboard (or something) and ducttape and make shure all the air from the fan in front goes through the rad. Then u will have 1 fan pushing air in front and the psu pulling out at the back. This will give u more fresh air through the rad :)
What do you think of setting it up this way. I canīt give you any advice cos i donīt know the lay out of your case. With this setup, i can remove my watercooling components completly from my case intact without draining my loop. I hope the pics might be of help to you:D .
if he's gonna mount it down there, first mod is removing drive bays...
then he'll have to configure some airflow for effeciency...
