Hi guys

Well well well. I was going to get a good night's sleep as i was flying to Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup and all.....but i got a CPU in mail Monday :) and just looking at that shiny L720A batch for this E6750 made me test for just 10 minutes >>>>> NOT :D

It turned into a 5 hour session in the end LOL >> yup no sleep and flying out REALLY early in the morning :shakes: :)

Let's cut to the chase :D

TEST SETUP
- Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 (DDR2) Motherboard F3 bios
- 2GB kit Corsair Dominator PC10000 DDR2 RAM
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 L720Axxx CPU
- PCI nvidia MX400 GFX card
- Blackbox SS Rotary Phase Change
- 80GB SATA Maxtor HDD
- 620W Corsair HX620 PSU
- Windows XP Pro 32-bit
I don't know what's sicker here. This motherboard, CPU, RAM or SS cooler :D w00t

19-23C Ambient Temps during testing

In case you were wondering about magic setups in bios >> well it was very simple >> ONLY ADD volts to components if they respond to it. That is the best advice i can give you. It is time consuming but you will reap the rewards when done right :) and since every setup is different there is not much point copying settings

Here is what i ended up collecting off the HDD in the end:

Wow mate great results! Some 3D marks with 8800GT would be nice to see too. im so envious of the cpus you manage to get your hands on....i live in Australia too you can send them to me when youre finished :D :D

yeah well thats the only thing i can fault about gigabyte performance is the PL, you cant get the PL as tight as asus at any given fsb (unless 400mhz or under), but i guess ram clocks and cpu speed make up for that

i haven't tried to put a pot on it and dry ice with high volts so that is the only thing that may help

actually too many volts in NB reduce the OCs.....this was all stock :D

29 and 30 seems so so, from what I've heard.
34 is better, but quite a big variation in coldbug level.

Would be interesting to see how that one performes with LN2. :)

we tested another one of these CPUs on kayl dual cascade and it appreared to be badly cold bugged and we had to turn off second stage to try and make it to windows and then reduce temps
i will try DICE or possibly LN2 on this one tomorrow but knowing that the other one is of same batch

anyways we'll see

"Many" people have the same problem with posting at low temperatures. The one I have refuses to start below -60C sharp.

yeah i read about it even from hipro's chip

but the strange things is that ours was playing up even in windows :( at lower temps (-110C on evap)
