2x2GB G.Skill F2-8000CL5D 4GBPQ 5-5-5-15

First time checking out a 2x2GB DDR2 kit of memory and the first contender to reach my hands is a 4GB G.Skill F2-8000CL5D 4GBPQ 5-5-5-15 dual channel kit fresh off the production lines according to serial number = 740 = week 40, 2007. Thanks G.Skill for supplying the kit :)

Poor lighting forced me to use flash on my camera

From irev210's review photo here it seems to be non-Micron based ICs.

Some quick tests of Prime95 v25.4 and a barrage of Everest, Sandra 2008 XII and Super Pi benchmarks all done at 2.1v vdimm.

Seems to be close to max at 2.10v memory voltage so far with AUTO set subtimings and manually set tRFC 48 value.

Everybody seems to be getting similar results. With that consistency the kit indeed is great value for money.

Nice testing eva2000! It seems the average 4GBPQ is good for a 10~20MHz OC @CL5. It suprises me that this memory runs better at Trfc=48 on the P35. Denny also tested his memory on a DFI P35.

I could'nt get my system boot with tRFC=48 at 520MHz 5-5-5-15. On my P5B Deluxe 965 I need at least tRFC=50.

I can't wait to see your CL4 tests.

I have my kit now, been doing testing on it since Thursday night. I've actually had better luck on the overclocking side of things than most others have. I'll be posting my review within the next few days.

i just ordered this kit, will be here hopefully tuesday.....i will do some tests with the x38

I want to buy these, but I can't find a shop in the Netherlands that provide these kits.
In Germany I can't find a shop which has these kits on stock.
Also not on stock in the shops I searched in the UK (also in UK veery expensive).

Newegg has these on stock and very nice price, but doesn't ship international :(

Anybody any suggestions for a shop that has these kits on stock and can ship it to the Netherlands?

been too busy.. lots of toys to play with .. will get back to them when i have some more time :)

Try 2.2v. Although don't expect to get much higher then that at CL4.

Sorry to bring this thread back from it's slumber

but I'm having issues with this memory and my Abit IP35pro

timings where set 5 5 5 15 in bios with 2.1V-2.2v under vista x64 it seen fine no blue screen but under winXP x64 i keep getting Disk.sys stop: 0X00000050 after bit of research it's now doing little better with 5 5 5 15 TRFC 45 but yesterday i got my first blue screen again after 1 whole day of been blue screen.

my question is if i wanted to run @ DDR 1000 speeds what are the best stable timings should i use for stable system.


got to give to MS looks like vista handles error better then XP.
(i do notice my system bit feels slower then my X2-4400+ running vista 32bit my guess the memory is affecting it cause there both have the same tweaks and system with more Ram should be smooth not to mention 4 cores)

i do see timings posted on the first few post but guessing those are set for best performance squeezing out the last MB is there any timings for stability.

TRFC at 48 or higher. :up:

And in the future, to avoid those problems, always use memtest.

yup, this ram likes higher tRFC values

i guess the only differerence between these and the 6400PQ is the 8000's are binned higher maybe

they both use powerchips but the voltage is different

my 6400's arrived yesterday my q6600 today ill try to get 1:1 400 working first then see what i can push out of the RAM

I believe Enjoy had them stable 5-4-3-x @ 550mhz...

Doesn't have to be that high of an FSB. Can these thing do 4-4-4-12 @ 400 FSB or something close?

honestly didn't remember what they did for 4-4-4-12 but these days most powerchip IC based 2x2GB can at least do 400mhz 4-4-4-12 i think ?

Probably be revisiting this memory and more 2x2GB kits once i find a new X48/P45 based platform to test on :)

More than likely.

I'd be surprised if not, but i wouldn't count on much more.

Generally with PSC, you get to DDR2-850 to DDR2-900 at most with CAS 4.

They are a lot stronger with CAS 5.

You can usually run 4-4-3 to similar speeds as 4-4-4.
Then you need to go 5-4-3 or 5-5-* to get farther.

I just got this memory, but, having a problem getting it stable. I'm using a DFI DK P35 T2RS. Using the 333/667 divider to give me 934MHz. Eva2000, do you still have your settings? If so, could you show me what they were? I'm set with everything at Auto right now except for the 4 main timings. This gives me, in Memset, the following
All Precharge to Activate - 6
Refresh Cycle Time - 52
Performance Level - 8
Write to Precharge Delay - 14
Write to Read Delay - 11
Act to Act Delayed - 3
Read to Write Delay - 8
Read to Precharge - 3
All Precharge to Refresh Delay - 6
Refresh Period - 2600T
Command Rate - 2T
My System was stable with my Crucial Ballistix (in sig), and I didn't change anything except the Memory timings and voltage (2.2 down to 2.1V)
