P04? Is there some changelog? What's the difference between Pxx BIOSes and publicly available 1.xx? From where you get these BIOSes? I'm trying to find something about that, but without effect. Is that really safe? I don't want to screw up my new mobo. :) I only have 1.22 beta from MSI support.

set it to 5-4-4-x and performance will gain a lot! the superpi time is bad.
if its possible go for ddr-2 600mhz cl4.0-4-4-x

that would result a nice 3,6ghz time :clap:

Can you say anything more about Pxx BIOSes? Is there a sense to change 1.22 beta to P04 for normal user (moderate overclocker)?

Tragical BIOS, unstability, poor OC ... i dont believe this OC ... maybe it is stable for 5 seconds?

I woudn't make any hasty conclusion;) Probably johnnyliu3377 was very lucky, cause my sample of MSI P35 Platinum is pretty sh*ty - too many problems, too bad OCing (as for the P35 chipset). 'll try the modified bios 2morrow, & then we'll see if it could do a miracle

prob in a month or two and by then, people are buying p38 chipsets mobo.

that'd only be a good thing for people who have been waiting for a better p35 board ;). if by the time the dfi / e6550 come out, x38's are showing to be great, then hey, maybe i'll get one instead as well. I didn't read any topic before I buyed this board but now I see that are a lot of post on internet with 470-480 max fsb.. dunno if that depend on cpu or..

sounds great! have you actually verified the votlages to see that theyre still stock? i dont know how msi does things but some other companies when you leave it on default, it'll actually increase voltage for you when you raise variables like fsb. usually it raises it far more than needed as well

you have grey, white and yellow signs in bios, grey are default, yelov are safe and red are critical, my are all grey and set manualy.

I had this mobo with one of the earliest BIOS versions (and the board itself was an ES), and all I could say about it was "this is the worst board ever". 360MHz FSB stable, and it even thought it had a modem built-in and started asking for telephone line connections.

But if they're good now I'm fine with it, MSI most certainly regretted sending a board to me though. :)

Nice result but i don't think the board is helping with that, nice because it can reach 600fsb but a lot of boards can do that these day's, Maximum fsb is @ the chip.

First of all, you should remove the hardware FSB jumpers to set the FSB strap higher. Im not sure what how you've got it now, but i'm pretty sure it limits your memory bandwith quite a bit. - perhaps the reason behind the crappy sPi times...

Additionally, pushing a bit more voltage into the NB wouldn't hurt either, not to mention the VTT voltage.

After all its worth a try~
In the end, you never know, perhaps thats max the CPU can take.

Regarding your max FSB /535/, please note that you have most likely hit the "wall" of your processor.
3.74 ghz is more than 100% OC for your E6300, gotta be satisfied dude. (don't blame the mobo^^)

Btw, how about your sPi itmes now?

pls set multiplier to 6x and try to go higher on fsb;)

my psu(asus a45ga) default support 4pin at 12v1 i make handmade cable 12v2 for a other 4pin connection on motherboard 4+4 8pin look at a pic
before i have ab9-quadgt vcore dont high @ 4pin and max 480fsb when i add cable run @500fsb :) my psu some weak maybe too :)
