Oh well I've been playing with the 8.38's and unable to get them to work. It was worth a shot, maybe someone else can figure it out if not guess we can wait til the 7.5's that will be released sometime this coming week.
its 23th no Cat7.5 in Ati site yet
regards
not the 23rd for ATI.
in related news, 2900 Xts with the free mouse are now 449 at newegg. must be selling.
hmm ATi HQ is located in Toronto (I think). So would they go by eastern time or go by whatever timezone AMD is in?
not released yet
tegards
Well with there current 8.38 RC7's (released on the 22nd) I hope they fix it more because it went down anywhere from 25% to 183% at least from the 8.38 RC2's (released on the 14th).
Well we will see.. personally i wait some better optimisation, but like i know ATI drivers evolution, i know there's a lot of luck we will need 2-3 drivers in more: remember the X1K series..
Anyway it's 17h00 here (GMT+1), So it's only morning in US/Can.. we can wait a little bit more i think..
who said it was gonna be released today anyways, ATI?
I was ask me same the same thing.. it was more around the 23 ? is this date is really fixed..( i try remember if i have not read too 25 somewhere...).. If i was at the place of catalyst crew, i will try give a good driver, so i will let them time for do it..one day more or one week more is not a problem at all..
There is beta RC 2 and RC 7 for XP and Vista. Trust me I'm using RC 2 currently on my computer and its a full install. Its not the ones you guys downloaded with the ATI symbols for the file icon, its an AMD logo and it decompresses them to an AMD directory not an ATI one. The Vista drivers are 50-70 megs and the XP drivers are 150-175Megs currently. The links here are for mobiles of course but they aren't the ones the 2900 needs.
I'll see if the guy will let me post links to them.
Added note the 8.38 RC2's preform a little better than the ones that are listed on ATI's site currently. Not much just a little, as well it doesn't fix the fog effect in HL2.
Agree with Deathman.. we know this beta driver was from Asus and for their next Laptop, specially based on Santa Rosa.. for their internal work..
i got 8.38 RC3 for windows XP right now , i will test and post results
regards
hmm So release should be tonight? That's the general feeling I got from the ocUK thread.
yep so far +- same thing as 8.37
and he also said maybe the final driver should be released tonightQuote:

So now I think about it these could be dated compared to the finals that should come out tonight , still these are nice to have while we wait.

Now we have an exact date.
is there anyway i can make it not install the audio driver? it keeps killing my xfi and windows goes haywire.
on the 8.38 RC 2, you have a page where you can choose component and what will be uninstall.. just uncheck what you dont want.. I hope this will be available on next drivers.
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/8898/11kw3.png
Or after install go on devices manager and uninstall it.. ( you can too just go on software and uninstall the driver.
@ lane K
give me some link to dl 8.38
posted just upper on the pages .. other version too higher on the thread ( RC7.0)
One thing: on each driver of ATI you can choose what component you will install... ( i was forget this...)
If you don't want HDMI.. choose personalised on the type of install, then uncheck HDMI.. on first reboot, disable the devices in manager of windows.. ( like have been say higher..)
how to bypass rapid share DL limit?
pm me ur accnt....
... download the first part.. then wait the time needed for the second...
Why would I PM you my account info if I even had an account? Sorry but not that trusting.
lol and a person with 12 posts, haha.
It's clear.. i will not give my info to a peoples i don't know.. why not full access to my credit card? :D (and i have no account on Rapidshare)

DX10 for company of heroes is out!!!
I'm running 1440x900 in a few games in window mode no problem.
@deathman
what is ur maximum refresh rate if ur using 1440X900?
Finals are in the startpost :)
I'm pretty sure you mean Hz since Mhz would be incredible and would most likely cause seizures or something...
to all: still no luck of the new 7.5 driver... even in vista, i had this problem... now im using the old driver and work fine with 1440x900 60hz...
