Micron D9 with new heatspreader :)

what is new about the heatspreaders ??
Wish I knew this 2 hours ago. O well it's only money.
Look here.
awesome, just bought a set. Loved my DDR 2GBHZ.
6 or 7 layer black PCB ?
6 layers
too bad I used a $15 off promo code already on the supertalents:(

The new heatspreaders are beautiful and the thermal pads are not sticky.
Very happy with the design. Notice its 2.0-2.1v
Holy crap those are sexy :slobber:
Similar to the Crucial Tracers, but made by G.Skill :)
Cant wait to test this weekending!
very nice pictures
waiting for ur results
Yes, lets see some results so I can order a set :)
Are those good Micron 9's?
I heard there are many iterations of them.
D9GMH & D9GKX have been the best of microns current production DDR2. D9GMH being a little more common & less expensive, but having different binning process @ times. In most cases D9GKX will run either higher clocks or cas3 @ lower voltage than D9GMH. D9GKX kits usually cost more and are usually found on DDR2 8500 & some but few DDR2 8000. You can go wrong with either though. I've got D9GMH that does over DDR2 1200@ 2.4v.
very nice price on those sticks.
Is there any problem if I use the old model with the new model? (dont think so but just asking)
I have mines running at 4-3-3-7 2.29v at 1000Mhz. I have no idea what IC I have.
did micron/crucial buy g-skill or something???
from the rebadged ballistix to the heatspreaders looking like they came from the same designer/manufacturer...
I dont get it
is now $132.00, I really doubt now that they still have Micron D9...
I'll find out, I've been waiting but this is low enough for me :)
Now $117 after $15 off promo code:EMC503DSKIL
would you guys choose these over the ballistix that was $90 ar at buy.com? both are micron d9 right
Hmm, I can't get the promocode to stick..still $132:(
the promotion still work ... its 15 bux off .. of 132 that makes it 117
i contacted a gskill rep and told me they are for sure D9's but you can get gmh, gct or gkx, i guess there are more gct than gmh or maybe im wrong however i'll order a couple
Hey wangerin have you tried yours yet? What type of clocks did you get?
I almost bought some and I don't even have a board to put them in.
Out of stock now.
Got some a few days ago, 1000mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.2v, no active cooling (yet), pretty sweet for $135
MOST of the DDR2 800HZ r D9GMH ... some could be D9GCT as some mentioned, but they should all clock well i think... CL4 DDR2 1000 @ 2.25v ...
but i pulled the trigger on Crucial 8500 for $139 after rebate so ...
I bought them yesterday for 150. And this afternoon the coupon suddenly starts working again... sigh. Would of been 130 taxed and shipped.
1000mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.1v with these sticks. When I install the commando I'll really be able to see what these sticks can do. Pretty awesome for the price!
I'll like the ram shields. Easy to take off, look decent, and sturdy. Can hardly say that do all that much though.
i saw it 124 now @ egg egg
I'm not too happy with mine yet. I didn't get a chance to play with 'em much, but they wouldn't boot ddr2-1000 4-4-4-12 2.3v like my other kits. I do like that the have EPP profiles though, & they do run stock just fine. My 24/7 clock is 412 mhz or 400 mhz anyway. I'm just gonna shoot for 3-3-3-9 1T 2.3v 24/7.
Okay they've now passed a memtest 1.70 #5 loop for over 12hours without errors. I used the DFI P965-S though 4-4-4-12 2.3v ddr2-1000. I'll put it back in the Abit later tonight. It seems trfc need to be set high for this kit to do ddr2-1000. My Cruicial 25th Anniversary & other G. Skill HZ's could do it with 20 or 21.
These sticks are impressive, 1100MHz at 5-5-5-15 with 2.1V. Currently testing 1150MHz.
Well, my crucial ballistix pc2-8000, took a dump (second time in 6 months) Newegg no longer carries the RAM, so they offered me a refund I Paid $299.99 for 2x1GB in December, they are giving me 284.99 back, so picked up 4GB of this stuff and still have $50 in my pocket. Look forward to playing with this, I do not overvolt my RAM, ever, so hopefully this will be more reliable than the ballistix I got. Looks like I can undervolt it and still get very nice clocks. Good deal.
Hey guys,
I recently picked up 4GB of this:

Even tho they have the new headspreaders, the PCB is green coloured. Do these have D9's in them?
Regards,
Karan
You can easily slide the heat spreader off and check it.
But yes they should be D9
I have the new heat spreader version and it slides out with no problem
edit: I guess I should say you don't need to take the clip off, pry open the sides (very little force is needed using your fingers) and it will slide out
wow, $114.00 now at the egg.
I am wondering when 2x2gb kits will get cheaper like this, and when their overclockability will reach that of 1gb sticks...
109-15(promocode) = 94$
I think it is the best deal at the moment...
Jeeze...I didn't realize how much ram prices have PLUMMETED in the past 2 months. I ordered my friend a computer in mid march and 2GBNQ was 169$ and now its $82!
Wow, I'm so suprised how DDR2 prices have dropped during the 2 weeks I've been offline due to military service (2 weeks in the woods )
It's not only this kit but others too, too bad european prices are still lacking compared to US memory prices but still this kit can be had for only 115 EUR compared to ~175 EUR just 2 weeks ago.
Seems like going for very mature DDR2 kit instead of entry lvl DDR3 won't be difficult to do at such price like I also did last time with DDR1.
DDR3 is too expensive, the difference of perfomance is not worth the money. I think companies should start taking care of latencies first instead of higher clock speeds. I got pretty impressed when I saw DDR3 latencies started at 6-6-6-x O_o!
wow i'm going to have to pick up a set mhm $109 right now, tasty
Just got mine last night (someone bought them for me and shipped to israel), got 2 kits , as I installed vista 64 bit , and wanted to go 4gb, awesome ram so far, black pcb, great price , what else do you need ?
just got mines. heatspreader slided off easy. mines are d9gmh
