about those commando/striker boards mosfet blocks....

From what I read he wanted to have at least 20 people signed up to buy these before he would manufacture them. I dont know if that figure was reached or not.
I'd buy one for my P5WDG2-WS Pro board if he makes a separate block for each set of MOSFETS...
I mailed them this weekend and got a reply yesterday, It said they will be out this week... We will just have to wait and see (tm)
I believe his plan was to make the blocks for Commando/Striker boards all along. His response regarding 20 people was a reply to my request for the EVGA 680i being supported.Quote:

Yeah Eddy said expect something on Thursday of this week (feb 22)
Ahh yes, I remember now :)Quote:

Hi guys!
I am verry sory that this is taking so long.
Because of the big sales of G80 blocks wh had to postopne it, but just a little.
I talked to the guys from our CNC mills, and they say the blosck striker/commando etc will be made on tuesday. Then straight to you ;)
Very sorry again! :(
Best, Eddy
Eddy,
Have you gotten many takers on blocks for the EVGA 680i board?
What about blocks for the ABit IN9 32X-MAX :)
Any chance of those?
Will those blocks fit the ASUS crosshair? The mobo's seems pretty much the same ;)
680i block will be available next week.
I am not sure about ASUS crosshair bit at least one block should work.
Not sure about ABit IN9 32X-MAX... I'll have to look closely...
I'll take some meassurements of the crosshair when I get the time then ;)
Still waiting... patiently... :)
Eddy,
Any chance of you making some beefy taller copper heatsinks for mosfets for the PWM? Like the digital PWMs on the Abit Quad GT that I epoxy onto the chips? I think that will be even more useful for a majority of the people that doesn't want to watercool their mosfets or stuff like that. I find most of the PWM sinks are lacking in robustness since those little chips put out more heat than some ram chips.
From what i understand Eddy has been ill hence the delay but the blocks are not far from what they should be:

Wow! Amazing job, as always. I can't wait to get mine. Eddy, I hope you had me on your pre-order list.
Is there anyway to switch that southbridge block to have the inlet/outlet near the right side instead of the top? Or does the inlet/outlet already clear the dual slot vid cards like the 8800 series? Or would the outlets still interfere in that position as well?
Looking good Eddy!
Cant wait to see / get / buy the blocks for the striker!
Are the EVGA 680i blocks ready too?
WOW if I had a bigger case and was actually pushing the board hard enough to warrant getting rid of the heat pipes... I would definitely be getting these!!!
Do the Commando mosfet blocks also fit the Striker ?
I whould like to know too ?Quote:

Good idea! Why didn't I think of that...
Eddy, is that at all possible?
i'd like to see inside of them.........
Are the EVGA 680i blocks ready too?
Another week, still no blocks... :(
boo hoo. I have to rebuild my system as I am getting a RMA MB and was wanting to install the new blocks at the same time.
Yea...Eddy told me he was gonna list the blocks to his site last Thursday, guess hes extremely busy atm. :shrug:Quote:

Wow, shame about the fitting but they are G1/4 thread anyways!!
What bord are these made for exactly!!! I'll defo have 1 of everything bar NB as i'll use my sliver rbx there
Eddy, any update regarding the revised release date? :)
I think they will be on his website today/tomormow. I know the Germans have them now and i know a UK shop thats ordered them!
I can confirm that the Commando and Striker chipset blocks are the same. I've been in contact with Eddy for the past few weeks on these and I'm thrilled to tell you that the blocks for my Striker are in transit right now.
So you were placed on the pre-order list? Lucky you...Quote:

So did I, but I have not heard a thing! Nevermind,.,, they are on the site now... However:Quote:

Looks like the difference is the orientation of the thread holes. One is parallel to the PCIE slot, and the other one is perpendicular to the slot. Theres no description on the site, maybe Eddy can clear this up?Quote:

Well if you want them better act fast... They are already going out of stock...
:( Missed the bus on the nb1 block it seems, even thou i mailed to get on the preorder list as soon as i heard about the blocks
Sorry to be a PITA. We can confirm that the Commando mosfet blocks are a perfect drop-in fit on the Striker, and that they cool all the chips (versus 3/4 of them for some of the German blocks) ? Thanks.
i was lookin for a NB and SB block from eddy for a gigabyte DS3, dont know if any of the new ones will work tho.
where the hell are these avalible in UK?
Yea, or wait for EK to have some in stock on his own site.
will they fit on an asus p5b deluxe?
I need to know if they can fit on a DS3 :/
what would you say is best, screw fitting barbs (compression) like the pics that EK has shown or just reg barbs where you put a worm drive on:?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you rather limited to the tubing sizes as well as the thicknesses if you opt for the compression fittings?
For the mosfets and chipsets, 10mm tubing may be sufficient for flow, depending on how restrictive the block are, but you're looking at some relatively thin walled tubing.
Eddy, What is the status on the mosfet blocks for EVGA680i?
Hey guys, I thought I'd share this with you. Here's a pic of my build underway with Eddy's blocks on the SB, NB and MOSFETs on the Striker board. EK blocks will be going on the twin 8800's as well. As pretty as his CPU block is, I wanted the proven performance of the Fuzion.

Nice WC parts there :) Expensive for me tho :p
...dude....
amazing :slobber:
I didn't know he made his NB/SB/mosfet blocks in acrylic. I thought that they are offered in delrin only.
Not my taste, but congratulations to you.

Dude! That's going to be my setup also, except I will be using the Swiftech Apogee GTX due to barbs spacing reason of the FuZion. My brand new FuZion is up for sale.
Am assuming you will be running 2 separate loops? How are you going to run your tubing, especially from a 3/8" to the 1/4" FlexXLCs?
Yeah, all I did was ask, and Eddy was able to accomodate me. I know it's not for everyone's taste and I know the Delrin (acetal) will hold up better, but this is my first WC rig and I'm smitten with a bit o the bling bug. Will be running UV reactive coolant through the loops and hope to see the glow in the blocks.
BTW, the EK 8800 blocks will be facing up at the top of the box under glass:

along with a Raptor X under glass at the top:

Yup, two separate loops. The CPU, NB and GPUs are on one 1/2" loop and the RAM, SB and MOSFETS are on a 3/8" loop with a 4 x 1/4" splitter through the RAM like this:

No. Its just my preference. I won't be buying those blocks. Anyway, I have zero interest in how they look. They could be extremely pretty, or they could look like cat turd. Makes no difference to me.
Like I said, most of his machine is not to my taste, but my preferences don't matter. Not dumping on him.. just saying my honest truth. Whether or not you agree with me, I have my own preferences and that's how it is, and you have every right to disagree with me. I'm sure you probably won't like the machine I'm assembling either.
Sorry to have walked into a EK love fest and kicked up a sand storm. Didn't mean to offend anyone!
i can't say that i'm not tempted to go a head and order those blocks, but for now i think i'll pass. they look so sweet :slobber:
any word on the EVGA 680I mosfet blocks?
James. I love your perseverence.
I haven't seen Eddy post here for about a month. Last I saw, he said he would require 20 orders for blocks on the EVGA 680i board before he would commit to making them.
I'm assuming this would be NB/SB/MOSFET x2 coverage.
I'd be glad to order all 20 of them if I can be assured of breaking even.
Or, if you want to buy them, I will commit to buying a set from you.
Maybe we should start a new thread for those interested.
My EVGA board is just collecting dust as I wait for him to make these available.
Question:
Are you working on Mosfet blocks for the EVGA 680i? If so, when will they be
out? I want a set.
Answer:
Sorry not in plans for now.
Best regards, Eddy
We have these in stock in silver :slobber:
Does anyone have the dimensions? I'm about to draw my crosshair into autocad, so I would like to be able to put these in as well :)
How about Mosfet blocks for Asus Crosshair?
Are there something upcomming or?
Han$en I'm trying to get the measssurements for them to see if they fit ;) I'm most likely not going to get them myself, but it would be nice to know if they did :)
From what I can see from the pics, they doesn't, due to different mounting holes, nut the base looks the same.. So a different top should be all that is needed ;)
Put me down for a north and south bridge 680i EK set if they go to production.
Uhm, is there a way to get a hold of these folks? I asked them about some parts and they have yet to return my email.
LINK
We have the rest of the range heading over shortly ;)
Eddy stated the ASUS Striker MOSFET blocks would not fit the EVGA board in another thread.
He also stated he wouldn't make them until he had 20 orders.
Here is that thread:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=130203
The question remains, do we have 20 takers?
I'll speak to eddy and take the full 20 if needed ;)
:slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
Ordered!!!!!!
Does Eddie make these himself or do you guys do the silver plating after you get them in?
Either way, how about a silver EK 8800 block to match these? Will look great in the modded apple G5 case im working on!
We can do any EK items customised to order ;)
See our range of Gold, Silver and Nickel EK blocks
If you want a Silver 8800GTX block just drop me an e-mail :D
That looks like OCZ FlexXLC memory, they come with integrated water blocks and aren't removable.
