D-Tek Prototype Nozzles

Well, I got some nozzles to test - problem is I can't test until I get a secondary 'test rig' assembled... I can not continue to use my main rig (yeah the green monster) for testing - I actually have work to do on this rig and I can't get a thing done when testing. Plus, all the testing made my tubes go funky... the continuous changing of blocks is what i think did it. I also noticed that my spring style hose clamps were killing the tubing at the barbs. I decided to go the zip tie route, it seems to be working so far - fingers crossed. I happen to have some matching color ties too :D

At any rate, sorry for the crap focus on the macro, my battery was dying. The nozzles that were made so far are 4.5mm, 6.5mm and 7mm. I think 4.5mm will yield the best temps with a strong pump but again, won't know til i can test properly. Here are some pics, again sorry for the focus.

So bascily this is like a and i think the right words, impgeant jet flow to the inlet? Bit Danger Den styled TDX/RBX giving the user the option to tune pending pump

I dont know yet... I have tested the 4.5mm nozzle, it is too big still IMO... I cant give you any before/after results or anything, my setup is different now. This is why i need my test rig which wont change... getting that up slower than I had hoped.

Wouldn't you want to use two zip ties per barb? Where the cut offs are perpendicular to each other providing equal pressure (whereas with one zip tie, the cut/locked side does't have pressure directly under it).

Looks good. I wonder if Swiftech will copy this idea too (like they did with the convex base).

EDIT: In all fairness, both and D-Tek and Swiftech discovered the performance benefits of a bowed base while the prototypes were being developed. Please don't make comments on topics you aren't certain.

I trust what you are saying, but up until this statement, the consensus around here seemed to be that Swiftech added the thicker gasket to bow the base as an afterthought... particularly after the first CES shootout.

Swiftech and D-TEK both discovered the convex base trick independently by accident. Neither stole it.

I have this on very good authority.

The D-Tek FuZion doesn't require the block to be modded to make the base bowed but?

D-Tek Finally has the accelerator nozzles for sale. They have three sizes and a new type of nozzle includes in the kit, the Quad splitter nozzle. Link.

Danny had told me first week of september, I was a bit skeptical... as others have been telling me that they have been expected out "next week" for months.

but now that the product is finally listed on d-tek website, its promising... I still have had mine on order at ncix.

I guarantee we'll be first in Canada to receive this product :)

I was just hoping they made a showerhead nozzle, this one seemed to work the best for me. Of coarse I spent over a hour making the stupid thing...the price you pay for being impatient I guess...:D

Hmm I may have to get these if they do really improve performance. I have plenty of flow rate, a little less wouldn't hurt a thing, might make my EK res bleed a little easier :p:

The 4.5mm nozzle that I used in testing has less pressure drop than the GTX... food for thought.

Oh it was thought of. It is believed that with the base of the fuzion that the single nozzle would be 'good enough'. The shower type nozzle is a PITA to produce from what i am told.

That's what I guessed..

So I take it what size you use will depend on how much restriction your loop already has? Like if your running just the fuzion and no other blocks then you can use the smallest nozzle for best performance I would guess?

nikhsub1..found on a dual core setup the 4.5mm nozzle gave best overall performance with not much flow restriction..so I would use that size personally

Now..not sure how the quad nozzle will effect flow and performance

Keep in mind that nozzle test was with an Iwaki pump, so it is possible that the extra 'squirt' this pump is able to provide might have a lot to do with the effect.

Well not really. Sure the more pressure you can give it the better BUT, it has (the 4.5mm nozzle) less pressure drop than the GTX. My Iwaki was run at 18v for all blocks, which would be VERY similar to an 18w DDC with petra top.

I just want know when I'll actually be able to find this in stock. I'll have my D-teck block this week and want to intall it fresh with the accelerator nozzel.

Interesting. I see we are only talking roughly 30% more flow with the Iwaki/18volt through a GTX (used just as a rough guesstimator w/the flow calculator) vs. a D5 or a custom top DDC. I am wondering what the effects of having more blocks in the loop corking it up would have on the benefits of the nozzle.

ok so where would i get a swiftech o-ring then also would a bowed fuzion do better than a flat one on a quad

the fuzion already has a slight bow to it...

slight but from looking at performance charts you get better temps with a bow but thats on a dual core but that still apply to a quad

use a o-ring from a spare barb...
purchase a swiftech block and you get a couple.
purchase the ek spacer o-ring from petra's

want more o-rings? purchase a pack from a hardware store...

I didn't do very extensive testing on my Fuzion nozzle, but ballpark I think I was seeing maybe 1C with the nozzle and about 3C from the bowing with my D5 Vario.

I just received an email from D-Tek regarding an inquiry I made concerning the avaiability of the nozzles.

D-Tek said "They are actually not in yet. They should arrive the first part of next week and then they will be in stock here and in other reseller outlets :)"

We'll see if they are right!

I heard from an anonymous source that D-tek got a batch in, tested and dumped them for "undisclosed" reasons. The new batch is being tested and as long as they pass should be on sale shortly.

I won't say who said this, but they were clear on this point.

BTW. I just got my loop together and am leak testing as I write. Funny thing is I read the post about the internal leak in the Fuzion about 30 minutes after I filled the loop. MF!$%?!!!! Why couldn't I have found that BEFORE I filled my loop.

I thought the nozzles were a ready to production project.
I think I'll not be able to get some on October :(

Supposedly they got a batch back from production and didn't like something about them. so they're in production, just D-tek isn't getting exactly what they want apparently. I wish that level of QC would have caught the 1mm gap in my block.

Heh.... Make note of the ETA for the nozzles. I added them to the site when D-TEK first told me they would be coming "soon". Since then they've been coming "soon", so I haven't removed it...

They have still not arrived though.

You're not replacing an o-ring, your adding one between the two pieces of delrin at the top.

I was talking to tricia @ radiical.com.au the other day and they said they will be expecting the nozzle's and new unisink withing the next 2 weeks.....

so i assume they coming very soon....

thats way out australia tho i live in usa east coast

hope pts gets some in stock soon i have to wait on the dcc3.2 to get instock @ svc ( the site says available but of course not in stock when i order ) so i have time to wait on nozzles to get to the e-tailers, anyone know why there is a delay?

delay is first set didn't pass quality check.
