Single 7300GT 3DM 2001 WR

Knowing my 05 score, Stilt can brake it without much effort, but until he does, there are my 5 minutes of famousness.

I just got the card yesterday and was amazed how the 2ns ram clocked.
I am still running stock cooler and volts on the card. Didnt even put AS5 on it, nor did I use extra cooling.
Thanks to Denny and Eric (njkid). Wouldnt have gotten the CPU and board without them.

I didnt use any OS or driver tweakes. I just pressed "run benchmark". Gotta get used to the right order to run the benches. Will do that tomorrow. I have seen enough cars, planes and butterflys for today ;)

Sys specs are:
Intel E6600ES step 5 running 431*9 3879Mhz watercooled
1gb stick of G.Skill HZ PC800 running 1:1 4 4 4 12
Asus P5W DH deluxe, NB watercooled
Xpertvision/Palit 7300GT 256Mb DDR3 500/500 stock @ 600/795

Unfortunately it seems the card is limiting quite a lot. An extra 300Mhz in CPU speed resulted in just 600 points more in 01, 61points in 03 and 47 points in 05.
Gotta vmod the card and play around with the deltas.
Was much fun anyway :)

Almost right. My 03 score was 14k and 05 577x.

I knew it wasnt some Xtreme Benchmarking. I wouldnt have posted anything if I knew what the reactions would be.

Class record would be better terminology than WR but if it is the highest loaded it is the highest loaded end of story .. you don't have to hit a certain score ..

That makes sense. I didnt think what the definition of a WR in terms of 3Dmark is. Go ahead and edit the title if you want.

Clint you have to use www.geizhals.at/de, it tells you what shop has the DDR3 cards. I wansnt sure if it was the right card, ordered one to see what it is.

I shouldn't post from work, I'm too p*ssed there and write too fast without reading twice. Reading my post from home, yeah could have said it better but making my opinion anyways.

Hey there nice scores on this cooling, but personally I don't like WRs without a bit of "uh that's hard to break". Same rig, just phase...the "WR" would be done. If I already would have the money for Conroe rig, I would just try to beat it - not for the WR just for the friendly competition ;)

Anyway I must buy a 7300 GT whenever I will get a new rig (can take it's time but should be conroe), because I said I'll break it and just for my own...now I have to do it on a similar rig (I hate benchmarking without aims and this is just perfect for my money) :D

great card. oblivion is running great at 570/770 (dont want to risk reboots, while gaming so i use not the highest stable clocks)

I did 620/805 perfectly through every benchmark, yet I don't think I can get any further on stock cooling :)

i think 600/800 is the max for my cards now. maybe i improve the cooling. then it should be a little bit better.
for now i play with 570/770 all the time... great cheap videocard!

My 05 score is not low ;)
Thats the max I can get out of the card with stock cooling, and no hardware mods.
Your card has a 100Mhz Memory clock , 160Mhz more geo and 100Mhz more core clock. Considerig 05 is GPU limited, those scores seem about right.

I am running my cards watercooled now. havent benched them yet, but 845/800 is now gaming stable. With the stock coolers 820/800 was the max at that voltage.
That Leadtek has 1.4 or 1.2ns ram, so the ram should be way better than mine.

Thats the 128MB Sonic, which has 1.4ns Ram.
The 256Mb version has overvolted Infineon AFL20,2ns ram. Some models have 2ns ram from a different manufacturer, but Infineon 2ns is on most cards.

Thedifference is huge. And the majority of DDR2 cards is clocked at only 350Mhz on the core, so the DDR3 gpus are maybe selected chips.
Once the core hits a certain clock, it needs a higher bandwith.
I noticed a huge performance jump from running the memory at 500mhz and 800Mhz. Furthermore DDR3 has tighter timings.
Most DDR2 7300GTs are passively cooled, so they are perfect for a silent occasional gaming rig.

Just volt modded my cards and doing some initial tests at 700/840. Seems fairly stable. Have 1.5v and 2.0v for gpu and mem at the moment.

I see TheStilt put 1.75v through his gpu .. :cool:

Testing 84.66 drivers and I can run 2003 885/800 with them, instead of 865/800.

Doing more testing and will up vgpu later.

1.6V for now
Testing 920/800.

My goal is 1ghz on the core at least dragon low stable.

920/800 froze in nature, running 910/800 now.
Seems like the card scales very well up to 1.4V, but after that .1V more only give a few mhz higher oc, so 1ghz might be doable, but with sub zero cooling.
910/800 passed and I have already beaten my 17223 score by 140points with 400mhz less cpu speed.
Now testing max clocks for AQ3.
910/800 seems to be the max stable for AQ3 too. Same score as I have with 400mhz more.

Dragon low passed with 950/800 ^ ^
970 crashed :/ Hopefully 1.7V will be enough to run 1ghz. I am not brave enough for more voltage today.
960 also passed with 1.6V.

Unfortunately rivatuner shows the 2d clocks of the second card :/, so I have no proof for it. Cant take the second card out easily because of the watercooling.

965 also passed. 1ghz here I come. Rivatuner slidebars show the right clocks, but the monitor doesnt :/

Running 1.7V now. 1ghz doesnt seem to be doable :(

Will try it again in winter with really low ambient temps, maybe that helps.
Testing max with single card and 1.7V now. Then I will do a run with 1.6V vcore and 4ghz. Depending on the free time I have left, I will run SLi with 1.7V.

Just noticed I forgot to place my 120mm fan, so the ram might have overheated. Running 995/800 2003 now.
Gah, must have had a slowdown, score was bad. So going from 1.6V to 1.7V didnt gave a much higher oc. Seems like I hit a big wall.
Looking for max clocks now, if its close to 1ghz, I will be running 1.7V-1.8V.
Load temps are still around 45C, which isnt too bad.
I am pretty sure 1ghz can be done at around 0C.

I have just decided not to run more than 1.7V for now. Although the cards are cheap, I cant affort another one now and want a gaming rig.

Still trying to find max AQ3 clocks. Down to 970Mhz already, but score is still bad.
930Mhz also gave a bad score, running 920Mhz now. Considering I was able to run 910Mhz with 1.6V, I take it the card has reached its limits on watercooling. Thats not even a 20mhz improvement over 1.6V.
AQ3 finished and scored 122158 with 3550Mhz and 920/800Mhz.
925Mhz has also a slowdown.
So for AQ3: 1.6V 910Mhz, 1.7V 920Mhz.

Running 05 now with 925/800.
Getting artifacts now.
I noticed the range between artifact free and artifacts, but no crash is really slow now. With 1.49V, I was able to run 820Mhz artifactfree and 900 with artifacts. That gap is much smaller now.

o5 passed with 925/800 and scored 7432 with 3550Mhz. If the card keeps the oc and doesnt die today, I might finally get the 05 WR as well.
Just noticed the WR is 7573 now, so maybe I cant make it.
For the record: 930/800 failed.

Running 03 now at 925/800 and just had a slowdown.
920/800: Must have had a slowdown, score was 2k too low.
I am wondering why running 03 at 995mhz didnt result in an instant crash. Maybe the card clocked down already while loading 03.

Running 915/800 now. Just had a slowdown.
910/800 was the max with 1.6V. So the extra 0.1V dont seem to have improved that.
To make sure my card aint dying, I rerun AQ3 with 920/800 and it passed.
Now booting into XP to test 01 and maybe 06.
Well Windows didnt boot, so I am back at 1.49V again to test if the card is already damamged or still working properly.
If it still works I will do a 05 run later to see if I can get anywhere near the WR. I could improve the other scores as well, but I dont feel like its worth it.

Both cards are still running fine at 845/800.
No idea why windows didnt boot.

After a lot of hours of testing I was finally able to bench at higher clocks than 850Mhz.
It took me quite some time to get it working, so I have only maxed out AQ3 and did a 05 testrun, but the 05 score has some room for improvement.

That is pretty much the max I can run with my hardware and watercooling.
VGPU: 1.8V, VMEM: 2.3V, 940/890Mhz.
I will do a suicide run as soon as I have a second stick of ram.
For a 79euro card, its surprisingly fast. Too bad it basically hits a wall at 1.6V. More voltage doesnt result in much of a Mhz boost.

Will do some SLi benches tomorrow with AQ3. With stock aircoolers I had 171k. Will be interesting to see how much that score is gonna improve.
