Why a 4x00 line? Maybe it designates single core?
it has been on some of the road maps, all of them saying that the only difference is the 800mhz fsb and the vt. I wonder if they oc well if it would be a very cheap, viable alternative to the e6600, just with less cache and no vt.
I'd say its $130 or so, the E6300 is $183 so it'd have to be significantly less than that
dont really know,
what is "pro"?
it should also have a good multi, if it ocs well it will be a sempron nightmare
probably a mix up with yonahQuote:

vpro is their energy efficient, stable, business platform. I think thats it.
it should have 8x multi so that'd be very nice.
I forsee it being an incredible Rosetta/crunching processor.
That's what I'd like to know. Also, with 800FSB it should have high multi and be uber-cheap. Plus it's a Conroe too! Not a bad alternative.Quote:

must be fun for 200% oc hehe
Where are you getting the 20x multi from?
200MHz quad pumped is 800...it's going to be 8x200.
where did you get 20x multi?!?!
it is 200x8 where as e6600 is 266x8
it will probably be a great overclocker just like the 805.
my bad
:slapass:
E4200 is scheduled for Q1 2007.
And imo low multy won`t help much - those shouldn`t have great OCing abilities. Would be great if I`m mistaken

Well, basicly for ~130$ you'll get a E6400.:D
Someone can clarify this? I have read few months ago that the 2MB cache models was single core and 4MB was Dual Core... Is it still the case ?
I don't really mind since I want an E6600, but it's just getting confusing..
they are all dual cores, this has been known since day 1, but some people who don't know what they are talking about see half the cache and assume half the cores. There will be a single core version of Conroe, but it won't be comming out for a while, also I think It only has 1MB of cache. Basically single core is now Celeron.
there will also be an e4300 that is 9*200 2mb, list price of around 170 in q4 ;)
Single-core?!
"Conroe-L": Core 2 Duo on the Cheap
Intel's newest roadmap has an unusual addition: Conroe-L. Intel defines Conroe-L as a single core processor, which we assume is based on the Conroe Core 2 Duo architecture. The most recent roadmaps have Conroe-L designated as a Q2'07 component as a supplement to Cedar Mill chips.
The Conroe-L processors are scheduled for a launch a full three quarters after the July 23, 2006 desktop launch. For other architectures, Intel typically has allocated the processor family across the entire board: value, mid-range and high end. Intel's 65nm Cedar Mill, for example, was launched as Pentium 6xx and Celeron 3xx at the same time. Intel's roadmap reveals that the company will attempt to place the majority of 65nm Netburst CPUs into the low end during the next few quarters.
Intel's Conroe architecture (described in the Core architecture launch) uses a dual-core design with a shared L2 cache. Decoupling the two cores is a more complicated process than simply "disabling one core." Pricing of the processor family was not revealed yet.

E4200 is dual core.
I would think you guys would be more interested in the "HT" column there and the obvious black-out of the information on the top half of the pic.....
I'm not going to say it, because you just wouldn't believe me anyway...sigh. ;)
interesting processor, and interesting thought from fcg, I don't believe you fcg :)
However the fact is it doesn't mean your wrong though. :)
2 more days woohoo.
hmm i just dismissed the top half as being netburst, but that is an interesting proposal.Quote:

top half has netburst and then conroe again :)Quote:

X6800 is missing...so is the upcoming 3.33Ghz part
show us the conroe at the top ;)
E6600 was 266 x 9 = 2400 last time I checked.Quote:

The only one worth looking at that's cheaper than the E6600 is the E4200. Unfortunately it won't show up for while, if ever.

The E4200 may be nice for overclocking because it should have a higher multiplier to get the same speed. (due of course to the lower PSB)
Bump'd.
Now show us the rest :p: And what's the "suffix" column for?
i dont know about the roadmaps but Tech-Data doesnt show any E6xxx series cpu's coming until Sept. i been checking it everyday and it hasnt changed.
although the OEM and big pc makers will get the massive batches i find it hard to believe Tech-data would have to wait until Sept.
Looks like E4200 is going to replace 805.
Interesting thanks
