After reading all the horror stories of trying to get 8 gigs of ram to work reliably on this board, I was pretty reluctant to try it myself. But, I professionally work in Photoshop everyday and the lack of having more available ram was killing me. So I took the plunge and installed another 4 gigs of Patriot Vipers...
It works f'ing great!. It's running excellent @ 1780 24/7; rock solid stability with absolutely no issues at all. In fact, I had to work 24 hours straight to meet a deadline and ran this machine without rebooting the entire time. I highly recommend the Vipers when running 8 gigs.
Previously, I had 4x1 gigs of OCZ Gold sticks. They were pretty solid, but 1500 fsb was the max I could run those at 24/7. You have higher quality OCZ memory than mine, so you may have better results than I did. If you do install more memory, just make sure that the retailer has a good return policy, because you never know. What works for some may not work for others, especially with such a finicky board like the Striker II.
I really like this motherboard, though.
