so sorry,, but its a beta,, which means, as we all know its not ready for final release so...
anyone ever flashed a DS4 or DS3 with a DQ6 bios ????
That's fine, apology accepted. :) I was adventurous enough just flashing my S3 to DS3. :) I don't think I want to risk any of those.Quote:

I feel a cold chill in my current O/C settings.
Flashed to F7, bios dated November 8th 2006...but guess what?...NOTHING has changed.
No new options in bios, and STILL they have not updated the bios ROM's for the JMicron or Intel controllers.
It's the same old same from Gigabyte, same crap just another week. Still cannot boot past 450FSB.
Tried 450x7= no boot, constant reboot/restart...only way to fix is to take out the CMOS battery, so much for D9 and booting past 450FSB.
What pisses me off the most is this bios has been a month in the making, yet GB refuse to update the JMicron and Intel controllers....HELLO!, we've moved on now TWICE.
Latest bios ROM for the Intel RAID controller is 6.2.0.2002 and NOT the first buggy release that GB have included.
Are they afraid we'll lose our RAID arrays?.....SO WHAT???!!, jeez...it's not rocket science if the new bios ROM requires that you do a fresh install, BIG DEAL!
I can do a fresh install in my sleep...just update the damn thing!
That is kinda unreasonable just so you can overlock more. Bios released are geared more towards actual functionality of the board for a normal user. ;)
richard will the new bios improve boot times and hd detection? Cause at the moment its slow as hell.

Both DS4 and DQ6 are both identical except for the e-sata thing, thAt's why they can share the bios but not a DS3. Someone (from other forum) flash the DS3 with a DS4 bios and it's dead lol. Btw even the DS4 F7 betas bios is not downloadable from JZelectronic. I just got it from other forums.Quote:

And some of us have already lost our RAID arrays from simply restarting too much :(, yes it happened to me from restarting my computer. Lost around 400gb of data...Quote:

This website claims the JMicron bios ROM was updated...IT IS NOT!
It's STILL version 1.06.53.
GA-N680SLI-DQ6 and GA-N650SLI-DS4
Worldwide distribution of the GIGABYTE GA-N680SLI-DQ6 and GA-N650SLI-DS4 is expected for late December, 2006.

Tick Tick Tick, GB where's that bios?
bingo, give us an update, please. :)
Very interesting news on the 680SLI board, i will certainly check it out, though will wait for proper board release + reviews.

oh well
I'm gonna try out a new lower Vcore, 1.3750V...see if it'll take to 3.4Ghz.
I bet some crazy guy will write a force script to do that... but DS4 & DS3 are totally different as you can see from the PCB board layout+components so why force it to accept other bios unless parts are identical (DQ6) then it shouldn't be a problem.Quote:

CPU-Z 1.37.1

Interestingly, they've updated the change log since I posted the details the other day.Quote:

08.11.06
GA-965P-DQ6 - BIOS Version F7
1. Update CPU ID
2. Fix QST Steuerung SYS_FAN und CPU_FAN
3. Fix PWM CPU_FAN
4. Update JMicron Rom
5. Fix Micron D9
I hadn't bothered trying it out because originally it didn't mention anything about 'D9 fixes' and I didn't want to take the risk of messing around while I had work to do and nothing to gain. I should get a 'work-free' opportunity today to update the BIOS and try extending my overclock. I settled at 433 before because it was a happy medium for cVore/Temps.
