Think they got Easy Tune corrected now like in the beta (seems all beta's got the same changelog ) :
Fix abnormal messages from EasyTune 6 and DES in Vista
Not one company does put all changes in the changelog... it's always pretty vague...

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum as far as posting but read it all the time. Lots of good info and people here.
I have been reading over the last couple of days all the pages of this thread. I have tried many of the things I read on here but still having issues trying to OC my E8500 on UD3P board.
Let me just give a short explanation of what is happening: I have used EasyTune 6 only to try and see where it sets voltages on a given OC speed, but do all my OC work in the BIOS. So if I choose the standard OC in easytune of 4.05 (the number 3 button), it works and is prime stable for hours and hours. However after setting that OC and going into to bios to tweak it or change it, I run into a brick wall. If I change anything even slightly it either won't boot or isn't stable. For instance, I tried changing the ram from 2.40B to 2.00D to put the ram at 1:1 and no boot, or boot and then blue screen. I would think that the voltages and timings easytune sets at this 4.05Ghz OC would be close enough for the ram to run at 1:1. Oh I'm sure the voltages need tweaking, but c'mon is this board really that finnicky when it comes to voltages/timings? I have also tried increasing the fsb slightly and get the same results, either no boot or boot and then blue screen. But I have a feeling that the voltages are the problem. There are so many settings that I really don't know what to increase and what to lower. I have tried many user settings and tweaked them up or down and still having issues.
I would like to get an OC of 442 with a 9.5 multi which would put me at 4.2Ghz with ram at 1:1. I can boot into windows with these settings, but it wont even run prime for more that 5 mins without errors. I would be open however to a lower multiplier if I can get around 4.2Ghz or above stable.
I have Corsair Dominator 1066 ram. Running F6 bios, should I flash to F7?
Can anyone give me a template of settings to try, even if they are a starting point to try and reach this OC? I know my E8500 is capable of it because I had it in an SLI board running at 4.2GHz 442fsb and 9.5 multi. I also have another rig with an Asus P5Q Deluxe, and another E8500 running at the exact same OC 4.2 442....etc.
Here are the last settings I tried with no luck:

Please help as I'm pulling my hair out. Thanks in advance for any help, I really appreciate it.

Marc, try the same settings above but change the "CPU Host Frequency (Mhz)" to 467. This will cut your ram some slack and give you 4.2ghz. Make sure and check settings as some change automatically when changing something else. If that don't help try again, 467x9, but change the "Drive Strength Profiles OC-1066" to OC-1200.
xbiusx, my mems for that were Crucial 8500. An early or older set now. I have some KHX8500 that are almost as good and I used them together with the 4x1gb screen. I just got them and they were only 49.00 But I even beat that, la couple weeks or so I got a set of Tracers for 29. (zzf) but they were 49 a week or so ago.) They are at 567 with 2.24v in my Asus. *The lights are cool.* I have a 2gb set og G.Skill 2x2 the pq ones. Have not had time to play with yet.

Anyone???
why do you have 9x500 = 4,500Mhz dialed in ??Quote:
442 with a 9.5 multi which would put me at 4.2Ghz
Or have I missed something ?

Hi coop, dude i have to say you are lucky  man, i don`t know why  but i tried your settings as well, but didn`t work. Even with 1.4+ vcore 1.36 vtt my system only boot but doesn`t load the windows.
Wish i could buy one pair of crucial, there is no resellers here in amsterdam :(, i`m thinking try g.skill or mushkin.
So, only think left me is try and try lol...:shakes:
^^, was telling marcnapier. But, "why do you have 9x500 = 4,500Mhz dialed in ??", yes.
xbiusx, are you changing your "latch" and "system memory multiplier"? I'm sure you will need to if not.
i did on my first attempt , no success... i`m curious  because just to load few seconds on xp it takes more than 1.4v on vcore and 1.61 pll and 1.36vtt and even so i did`t got inside.
in comparison with your settings i should able to load windows and start testing with small ftt, but for now its just a dream.
i have testet with the new bios F7A for my UD3R Rev1.0 FSB 540 on water,my ocz reapers are on end

xbiusx, I don't know what to say. I got lucky with my chip and board.
siyah, that is really nice. Can you tell any difference with this bios and the previous one you had? Great voltages.
just installed F7a ,
my crucials are still showing up as pc 6400 ?? i have 4 sets and all of them pc 8500 ,but they all show up as 6400?? something weird going on there. lol
displays wrong on cpuz ,et6 and memset . any ideas ?
in bios they run at 1066 mhz at 2.2v same ram runs at 2.0v on my other boards. not sure if its bios related.
@coop
I have no different to its predecessor voltages, I have noticed the same set
Hi adya, welcome to the Giga UD3P thread. Nice move you made from the DFI to the Giga. :)
No that's only tweaks related, you will find it will perform as the DFI with the necessary tweaks and with the same volts.
Of course the P35 and X48 platforms are faster on ram readings then P45, but that means less OC on the cpu
I wouldn't worry about the wrong terminology (PC6400) if they are performing the same.
Hey guys,
I am trying to run my Q9550 on the UP3P at 3.8Ghz but can't quite get it 100% stable yet, so i thought I would ask you guys for some help. Sometimes i can get OCCT to run for the hour and sometimes not, the times that I cannot i get BSOD's. With Prime95 I either get BSOD or one of the workers fail, seems to be #2 alot.

hey how accurate are vtt ref set on auto? im playing with vtt but leaving ref on auto , i read somewhere auto ref are fairly good on this board ??
Its not good mate, at least for quads. CPU Ref and MCh Ref on Auto will cause lost of stability and memtest errors (test #7).
I would set vtt to 1.20vtt and use some of the sucessefull templates for your cpu.
For 45nm Quads CPU Ref is usually around +1 above the stock 0.760 @ 1.200vtt and +1 above stock 0.760 also for mch ref, for example (may vary from board to board cpu to cpu).
Nobody has ever answered this after the F5 went out ... I've never updated my BIOS (Im still with the F4) because I don't want to loose my time and settings for a bios update which doesn't resolve this FU...ING S3 BUG ... this is really annoying !!!:down:
Gigabyte, your board rock !! your bios don't !!
Overclock and loose S3
don't clock and get S3 feature ...
I don't want to choose !!!!
Whats S3?
Hello everybody...
I just got a EP45-UD3P after 2.5 years with an Asus P5W DH Deluxe. I got my new Q9650 up to 3.40 GHz, but due to the P5W's FSB wall at ~375MHz and the CPU's 9x multiplier, I couldn't get beyond that.
I'm looking for a good place to start with the UD3P to get it to 4.0 GHz on air.
So whose settings should I start with?
Thanks.
