Yea.. sorry to have to tell this too you buddy.. your radiator isn't going to handle a quad, it is just way too small.. That is your temperature problem right there. To get good temps on a watercooled, overclocked quad you are going to need at least a dual or triple fan radiator. I have a triple radiator and my temperatures get to about 60c with 1.5v, 3.7GHz on my Q6600. It is the only thing in the loop. I would consider getting a better radiator or just going with high end air cooling.

Im thinking of upgrading the Radiator and CPU block. I had this CPU @ 3.5ghz on an IP35 Pro with the temps at 65 celcius with this kit but the temps are extreme with this motherboard even though I have a 200mm fan on the side panel blowing air into the machine also. Anyway I have the CPU @ 3.2ghz with 1.4v going through it and the CPU isnt after reaching any higher than 69 celcius. Im sure anything below 70 celcius is ok for 24/7 use?Quote:

Anyway im off to bed. Its 4am here in Ireland and ive waisted a whole day trying to get this thing to give me a stable OC. At the moment while I type OCCT is stress testing so Ill leave it run overnight and see if its ok when I raise from sleep later.

How do you know that your ambient temperature is the same as it was when you had the other motherboard, this could also be a factor. Hey guys,
I wanted to know what should be the very highest "safe" voltage for both the FSB OverVoltage and (G)MCH OverVoltage settings on that board? Right now my FSB is overvolted to +0.25V and my northbridge (MCH) to +0.250V. Is that alright? Is that "risky"?
The PC Health Status shows the following in the BIOS after the changes mentioned above are applied:

+3.3V --- 3.232V
+12V --- 12.175V
[...]
So what do you guys think about my overvoltage? Is it safe enough? And that's for 24/7 operations by the way.

Ive cleared out all air bubbles from the system , I have the Block tightened just right (any tighter and things start getting toasty) and Ive checked how well the TIM is spread. Ive changed the TIM this evening so maybe it needs time to settle.Quote:

Thats fairly high for the Volts your running,compared to Water Cooling. I was a Thermalright Extreme owner a while back , but then I caught onto the Swiftech wave and havnt looked back.Quote:

Whats the voltages you have? Ive started over with my OC again. I am trying 3.2ghz and upping the voltages slowly from 1.325v on the cpu. Im pretty sure my problem is that my Water Cooling kit isnt up to the task. I would like a higher OC but I cant seem to get any place with this motherboard.Quote:

True man. Im going to upgrade the waterblock and radiator. I may even change my case to accomodate the new radiator. But I seem to have this CPU stable so far testing with Orthos running twice with the Afinity set for 2 different cores each instance. Running stable for 45 minutes now and I am using different programs in the background with Thunderbird and Firefox awhile the testing is running.
Thing I am noticing is Orthos is reporting my CPU to be @ 3.6ghz when in the bios its set to 3.2ghz and I dont have any of those auto OC things enabled in the bios. Also I have the CPU @ 1.375v
Just realised I dont have the thermal compound applied properly. According to the Zalman site I need to apply the grease to the CPU and waterblock.

I have my voltage set to 1.4125~ in bios and in windows actual through cpu-z and in bios system monitor section is like 1.39~ for 100% stable 3.6Ghz overclock 24/7. I know I have said this in here before though that I have noticed that with my ex38-dq6 that it is kind of wierd because if I crank it up to say 4Ghz and have to up the voltage to say 1.5v because it does need alot more to get that high then I can not back it back down to my current settings in the bios by just turning it down. I have to reset to default bios settings then turn it up from there back to 3.6Ghz to get it to run again at what I have it at now or even if I mess with the memory timings to much I have to go back to the default then work my way back up because it becomes unstable if I mess with it to much but, if I leave it where it is right now no problems 24/7.
I cant get this stable @ 3.5ghz. The machine will boot into windows and run 3d Mark 06 through fully but it will fail any stress test I throw at it. im now at 1.5v on the cpu @ 3.4ghz. I realy dont know where I am going wrong because Ive been trying this for the past 2 days now.
I have some weirdness with my cores and temps:
Yesterday core#3 was reporting 10C hotter then the other cores, now thats changed and Core #1 is reporting 10C cooler?

My ram is ok. It will OC to 1362mhz on my AMD machine and passes m5 hours of memtest.
Ok I think ive gotten my OC right now. I have the CPU @ 3.4ghz and have 2 instances of Orthos running on 2 cores each for the past 3 and a half hours with no errors. Ill leave this run overnight and hope it will be good when I get up tomorrow. If so I will consider it to be a stable oc.
[EDIT] 10 and a half hours of orthos x 2 on two cores each is good enough for me to say I have a stable OC. Its all thanks to the F4a bios that I found at station drivers.

I have just got done testing all 31 of the tRead phase adjust settings. I am not sure how different this may be on a different tRead(performance level), but the setting I am using for that is 7. Here is a picture of the settings I am using. I ran EVEREST Cache & Memory benchmark 3 times for each setting, taking the best results of each for my end result.
I am surprised that nobody has really tested this to an extent, because it affects the bandwidth as much as running standard vs extreme in my case. I am curious if these settings/results are exclusive to tRead 7, or if they are universal. So I would like to hear some results from you guys if you do decide to try some tRead phase adjusts that work well for tRead 7 on a different tRead. I personally will be using 19, as it seems to be the fastest setting for my setup. Here are all the screenshots that are used for the table data.

I put a TT Typhon cooler on an old 965 DQ6 and the screws it came with where long enough to install it over the crazy cool plate. Works great I guess, the rig is still crunching 2 years now...
