and its funny how recently there has come to light very bogus overclocks that I called bogus in the very beginning and then people found out later they were using phase or dICE but that person failed to say they did that. and drug it on and on that his clocks were easily done with stock.

The D9 problem doens't exist with DS4 and DQ6, BUT the DS3 (and S3?) does suffer this bug. So if you see ppl get higher speeds with any other board than DS3 (again: and S3?) they haven't got the holy grail for you yet....
Anyone had any luck with Hynix modules / DS3 combo with the F7? I think I'm running into the D9 issue. :confused:Quote:

same here and the same issue on the 965PT board the 667 divider is just broke something fierce.
but the D9 issue has never plagued the DQ6 not to the extent it has the DS3/S3
what i am seeing is the non ICH8R chipsets meaning the ICH8 chipsets are having the issues.
which is odd since the ICH8/R is the southbridge not the northbridge where the memory controller resides on intel chipsets.
and not all of them but it does seem to be focused around the cheaper boards.

as for the ram list.
wish it were possible to get the highest stable, but each person has been able to get a little different.
what do the timings represent ? the defualt timings for the rated speed.
as in my HZ's show 4-4-4-12
i assume that given the meaning that is given for the U and J its a user implemented timings at 800mhz ?
the voltage setting is wrong thow it does 4-4-4-9 at 2.0v is +2 and it will do 4-4-3-9 @ +2 also.

DQ6@F7a / 6600 / 2x1GB GSkill 6400HZ / ThermalRight SI-128
The mobo is great, the only flaw I can think about is having to change one setting at a time in the BIOS. But when one get used to it...it's almost perfect.

Running at 400x9 1:1 now, already tested the HZ's and they go up to 1000 with 2.0v 5-5-5-15 easily, so I will try something more ambicious...wanna reach almost 4.0GHz.

The bad thing is: I'm getting random reboots. Don't know where to start, my bios settings are:
freq = 400
pcie = 100
vcore = 1.5 (Shows 1.216 in cpuz)
vdimm = +0.25 (2.05 final)
vpcie = normal
vmch = +0.25
vfsb = +0.25
If I drop multi to 8x, 101% stable for hours...many hours. Even with HZ's @ 1000 5-5-5-15 2.05V
Ideas? Thx a lot.

I also had the HZ kit running at 1000MHz @ 4-4-4-12 with 2.3V, appeared to work fine.
I'm also trying a new voltage setting out myself, 2.0V with 4-4-4-12 timings running 1:1 @ 850MHz, 425x8.
I'm dropping the voltage down from 2.13750V to 2.0V, just seeing will it work ok at a lower voltage.
I've also done extensive testing with voltage at 2.2V and the memory running at 900Mhz.
Eru...i've always found the DQ6 to run fine upto 445FSB with no voltage mods on the (G)MCH or FSB, mine are set to normal and i have 425x8 with 1.4 Vcore, 1.360V actual.
I also notice a strange quirk when manually setting the PCI-E frequency manually to 100MHz...my overclock settings are not accurate.
As in if i set 425x8 in bios and save settings on POST it will display 424x8?, CPU-Z also shows it 424x8, weird...when i set it to Auto it shows 425x8.
yeah 2v will work fine richard for that speed you can even run 4-4-3-9 with 2.0v
try it out,, there arent any speed advantages though
you wont see the speed until you do 4-4-4-9 or 12 @ 1000mhz or higher.

But label the HZ kit mid range?...i'd consider the 800Mhz rated kit that reaches 1067Mhz to be pretty damn good, and others have reach 1100MHz on Xtremesystems.
