well......................i have a ccbwe 0609 fpaw retail coming, cant believe i was retarded enough to buy one off ebay.

not sure if i want to even try clocking it, or just turn around and sell it.

well. i'm not sure where my issues lie. i tested all weekend. i started at 289x9 which froze during superpi =\ so i stepped back till i could run a couple superpi's. then started testing with prime95. failed. failed. failed. stepped back all the way to 250x9 - failed after 3 hours. =\
i'm thinking the K8N Diamond Plus may be suspect.

Tried lower multiplier to check if your mobo can run >250MHz HTT ?
HTT multiplier correct? Ram at lowest divider?

i haven't messed the LDT multiplier too much, everytime i do bad things happen. and i'm tired to reseting the cmos. it will boot and run windows over 250mhz, but not stable.

the HTT multiplier is 9, unless i mess with some cpu to nb frequency, then it goes to 8.5. at the lowest divider i could boot @ 300x9 but not even superpi stable

Additional Question:
do i HAVE to lower the LDT multi to get over 250mhz? or does that just better your chances?

Well if I have any OC problems with this MSI board its going up on ebay. And I'm getting a DFI. Ill let everyone know how it goes.

What is a cold bug? Ive been hearing people talk about it and I have know idea what it is.

yea, i baught mine for the 16x SLi, but ran out of money and couldn't get the second 7900gt. i should have got a DFI

i believe if its coldbugged it will have issues booting below certain temps.. such as 0c and below. correct me if i'm wrong

Cold bug is for people using phase change, just refers to the chip not likeing sub zero temps.

Your HTT bus has to be <1000MHz for stability

So if you run 250MHz HTT your HTT (LDT) mult can be 4x at max.
Your CPU multiplier is 9 by default but you can try lowering it to find out your max HTT.

by the way, this is all with stock volts. i'm trying to see if this chip will do 2600mhz on stock volts. or atleast how far it will go on stock vcore.

My CCBWE 0551 VPMW does 2.7 at 1.45V.. its wall is about 2.75 though. So not all 0551s are bad! :P

i was going to put together a db file, or spreadsheet to keep track of all the results, i don't know if you want to post the results here? i guess this would be the best place. let me know what you guys think, or if there already is a db somewhere. i just have like 6 free hours a day at work, and i'm bored =\

My 0551 can boot 2.6 GHz at 1.4V but isn't stable until 1.6V. With the HTT multiplier, it really depend on your board. Just keep it at 3x for testing. Check your memory subtimings because a 350+ MHz difference between booting and stability isn't normal.

My 0608 isn't gonna go much farther than 3GHz. I tried up to 1.68 (dmm, 1.59 set) but 3.1 still wouldn't work :stick:

Temps are pretty impressive now that I removed the IHS though, before 1.45v (1.48v actual) was 46C, now 1.68v is only 40-42C :woot:
