@ Jor3lBR, couldn't pass 475fsb at all or couldn't get 475 stable?
Out of interest what max fsb did your Giga do with the quad?

Thta was Nugzo he has same processor Q9650 and he tested a Giga UD3 and then compared to DFI P45. Saw these Giga's running Quads at almost 5000Mhz  And they cost 1/3 of our DFI's:

Nugzo was hitting 515fsbx9 easy on the Giga with 1.40vcore (he was stable prime small ffts with 500x9 4500Mhz) and he tried everything on the P45 but could get passes 475fsb x 9.
I tried everything on my X48 but it won't post after 486fsb. I tried all the multipliers but it won't go it always freezes upon post.
My last hope was that Nugzo could get his Quad playing well on the brand new P45 so I could just swap boards and keep all my blocks but I saw that was a no go.
DFI + Quad's is shame.
My Q9650 is currently running Prime95 and IBT stable 471x9 and that's about it.
Oh yeah so it was me bad (puts Carlsberg can down)
You don't happen to know what vtt he was using do you?
I got 500+ fsb with a couple of Q6600's on my X48 but I had to up the pll which eventually crippled the chips ability to maintain stability at high fsb. Going out on a limb a bit here but it appeared the board wanted or needed SB voltage but as it was linked to PLL you had to have both. The same Q6600's done 500+ fsb on my P35 with no extra pll just shoot loads of vtt.
I hope to pick up a Q9650 soon hence my interest.
You can check his volts here:
http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/8002/4500ra2.jpg
But with those volts on a X48 you won't get passed 470fsb stable...
Interesting. Temps are not a concern for me as my cpu and mobo runs very cool but I never passed beyond a moderate 1.7v on the PLL/SB do you think that could be holding me?
And I've tried everything BUT PLL to get 500x6, 500x7 etc on the X48.
Sure I understand C-N I won't ask you for a new chip believe me :ROTF:
Yeah some testing around the net are proving 45nm to be MUCH more resilient then 65nm's.
They endure a but load of more VTT and probably PLL too.
Thanks anyway. When you get your Q9650 we can swap some more cards
And the DFI UT P45 T2RS
I soon start to the E8400 Q835A

Hi!
I just mounted my LP UT P45-T2RS and for last few hours I'm trying to solve "little" problem - with GTX 260 PCI-Express x16 works only in x8 or sometimes even x4 mode. No matter what NB Voltage, what drivers (or even without drivers), what settings or what BIOS (1007 or 1028) I use - everytime GPU-Z and CPU-Z reports "x8" mode. When I switch card to HD 4870 there is no problem, PCI-E run with full bandwidth - back to GTX 260 and again, PCI-E only in "x8" mode  (on a different mobos like P45-UD3P or DK P45-T2RS Plus it was working fine)
BETA 1028 BIOS is on the DFI website & I've added it to the 1st post.
@ Weelkoo maybe this will fix your issue

Weelkoo:
Glad you posted this issue here on this excellent thread by C-N, I just saw his post on the bios update. I hope it works for your board.:)

I am having this same issue with my DFI LP JR P45 T2RS. Do you know if there is or will be an upcoming bios update for the LP JR to address this?
They all run very well. I have 3 x 2GB sets of GMH based 8500 SLI & all of them will do 1200mhz fully stable easy within OCZ voltage spec.
The 8000 Reapers are in my work station that runs 4GHz DDR1000 24/7. I haven't pushed them but I have had them running stable 1055mhz on the 266 strap @ 5.5.5.4.15.5.46 PL7 1.977v. These 8000's run a bit poor in my P35 board but the P45 loves them.
I haven't run my Reaper 6400's in a P45 board other than the T-Power so cant really say how good they go. Good as the 6400's are being Micron based which allow CL3~5 & uber voltage they still cant cut DDR1200 with low trfc like 4 x 1GB's so they are kind of obsolete for me performance wise.
I really couldn't say but if it really is an issue then I'm sure DFI will sort it as they have done here. I would pop over to DFI Club & ask this question if I were you.
I have heard of this issue with the JR but thought it was/could be cured by adding a bit more vNB.
yes i was posting that a week or 2 ago. couldnt get my q9550 e0 past 470 any vcore, any vtt, any vmch, etc. no problem going over 500 with the asus p5q deloox. the ut p45 still great with duallies and 65nm quads. hate to say it but looks like dfi dropped the ball on oc'ing 45nm quads on all chipsets. hoping x58 is a winner, going to i7 on monday with an evga, until the dfi is released, or possibly the foxconn bloodrage.
after flashing to 1028 BIOS from DFI Site GTX still works only with PCI-E @ x8 :

Q9650 in da house :D
Only had it 2 hours & I can tell already we are going to get along just fine together.

C-N: do you need that much VDIMM to get it stable?
I'm sorry to hear that, Weelkoo. Looks like we may both be stuck with the wrong link width:(
Thanks, C-N. I also tried increasing the vNB to no avail. I am also posting at the DFI Club and they don't have any more info on this issue either. However, I also posted this at Clunk's forum (DFI LP JR P45 review thread) and Clunk has just told me that he has seen this link width issue with three other DFI boards now. Including an 8800GTS 320mb card/DFI LP UT P45-T3RS setup:eek:
And, there is the unfortunate news that the beta bios didn't help for Weelkoo's DFI LP UT P45-T2RS, he still is stuck at 8x.
Needless to say, I don't think this is looking very good at all, and I will probably order an Asus P5Q Pro tonite:rolleyes:
Yeah you will enjoy the Q9650, by far the best processor I've seen.
My Q9650 needed 1.15vcore for 4005Mhz and 1.10v for 3600Mhz.
Wish you luck on the P45 500x9 is the goal  Your problems will start at 9x485 that's when it gets really tuff for the X48 to keep up and stabilize.
Right now on the X48 my 24/7 config 4252Mhz (474x9) using 1.336 on the Digital Multimeter / 266/667 Strap PL 6:

Thanks bud, I know everyones got one & I know 4GHZ is a breeze but the last quad I had was a Q6600 that did about 3.8GHz so the Q9650 is blowing me away.
I am gonna rap it in for the night its 1/2 one in the morning here (time flies ay) I have her running at 4.3GHz 1.328v loaded right now & she's stable but I'm starting to bully the board a bit with voltage so I'll quit now & start by tweaking the GTL's out tomorrow.
Sure I'll shoot for 500 x 9 but I'll probably aim for about 4.2GHz for daily use. I'll most likely stay on the 333/800 strap/divider & run 4 x 1gb sticks. The P45 boards PL is one behind the P35,X38,X48 etc.
Great! Yeah 4200-4250 is ideal with low volts, for me to run 4300 stable was a big jump on volts those extra Mhz won't be missed. For 485x9 the max PLL I used was 1.8v I still can't put myself on using more then that. Less then 485fsb nothing more then 1.6 was required.
My board likes a little bit less then 67% x Vtt let's trade some feedback to see how it plays on the P45.
Anyway thanks for the info and have a good night.
Hi,
I can open windows but I can not stable at 470 fsb with 4 ghz at Q9550 C1 revision.I want to use 24/7 at 4ghz.Can anybody help me?
I haven't got it nailed completely yet & its only about an hour stable but my chip has roughly run 4GHz 1.216~1.232, 4.1 @ 1.248, 4.2 @ 1.28~1.296 & I'm currently good at 4.3 with 1.328~1.344 loaded according to CPU-Z so its scaling nice.
Haven't touched PLL yet & don't intend to, call me chicken but I've wrecked good chips with PLL & despite what anybody says here on XS about killer voltages IMHO PLL hurts & I'll stay away from it.
My CPU likes 0.67 & so did my NB to a degree but I found I can dramatically reduce the VTT needed by raising NB GTL to 0.69
@ Thule welcome to XS :YIPPIE:
I would try all GTL's to 0.67 & give it 1.25v vtt then see what happens.
