So now you better have a backside shot when this gets put on MDPC. :yepp:
:( But I'm travelling how am I gonna get in the contest :( Moving to other side of the country lol, and all my stuff won't get there until 3 weeks from now :'(
Well people always ask for wallpaper, so I thought what better way to debut the new overall shot? :D :toast: I have more pictures, but for those I must use a special messenger from germany ;)

Amazing man. I dont know if anyone can say it enough great job and I am speechless really. I have been looking at it for a few minutes now just stunned.
Great job
I'm speechless also. Sniipe, its beautiful man, great wallpaper and photos. But they won't be great if it wasnt for that masterpiece in the picture
Wow, very beautiful! Nice job, man. :yepp:
Oh, yeah do I need to owe you my admin powers for one day?
:p:
does this mean that Flow has been approved for MDPC?!
Take the same shot but the front open, I want to see the water res goodness!
Quick, turn it off before it gets dusty!
OMG!! How did I miss this log !!!! It's beautifull man
Definately MDPC material :D
thanks Huff, :)
thanks CP :toast:
Technically yes, you do owe me admin powers, but I will let it slide this time on the condition that you finish your build soon! :p: :D
:wasntme: oh did I imply MDPC? :para:
welcome to my life with it on the phot set for over a week
thank you blax I am glad you finally see it!
you are just so darn persistent arent you?
as you wish:

CONGRATS!! FLOW IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Front AND back! :)
Sniipe, I LOVE IT! Just so gorgeous! You have inspired me to try to get the side of my case done with a CNC router type thing too.. I will see what contacts I can make here in Brissy. Hopefully ones with the same attention to detail as I have.
To answer your question:
No, my waterblocks (along with Pegasus) are packed up in a container, and they'll take three weeks (!!!) to get here from the other side of the country. Crazy I know. I have to make do with this laptop for 3 weeks :( Heinous... Pegasus will be fixed and up and running as soon as humanly possible. I hate being without my beast!
Also, how old are you if you're a frat boy, I'm assuming rather young. There I was thinking you were 30 something, you come across mature on the forums, plus your work is fantastic. I think you might actually be younger than me! Hmm... Now I'm wondering how old Charles and Nils are... :D
Ok, PM me your email address please :) shhhh its a surprise ;)
I am 19 years old, I will be 20 in october  sometimes I am not so mature, but as of late I try to keep things more professional because of my new affiliations.
and thank you it truly completes the project when I inspire others!
I feel kinda old :( I suppose I was spending time getting my degree which some say is challenging (I didn't think it was that bad at all just lots of memorisation).
I'm curious about the surprise now :D
BTW, I do love the res, does it make a soothing water fall noise? Play some bird noises and when you close your eyes to go to bed it will feel like you're in a rainforest! :D
Beautiful rig and pictures A+
Oh man, it's so beautiful!!!!! I find my system very nice, but when I see yours with the design of the door; it's so beautiful!!.... :)
Anyway, have a question. For your blue cables. I'm also interested in changing my PCIe cables, 60cm being too short. But where do you buy those metal things that you put on the end of the cable, and that you insert in the (for example) 4-pin connector? And how do you fix them on the cable? Thanks a lot :)
I am sure you can find these in europe (they are all made by molex), but here are the p-pcs links:
crimper for attaching the pins to the wire:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=1277
the pins to go in the 24-pin/pci-e/cpu power connectors:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=3592
Man that looks bloody nice, congrats!
(maybe my only comment is that the wheels look a bit rinky dink on such a huuge case, something beefier or wider would give it the stature it deserves)
If I could find nicer wheels it would be good, but the standard black plastic casters I have here would look worse and without the wheels it is very hard to move the case  you can pick it up yes, but in a cramped space it is much easier to rollll
that reminds me I need to weigh the beast....
Although I still think the water looked better w/o dye, it's your call. I remember you mentioning something about planning on installing a slim BluRay drive. Is it slot-loading or tray-load? I have a suggestion on mounting.
I am wondering if there is some sort of car wax or some such that is permanent, that you could use to keep the water from beading on the front window...
Hadn't looked at the thread in a week. Just wanted to say, Helluva job Snipe.
And you know, if you do get to thinking about it and feel that the area back behind the motherboard, that noone will ever see, is still too much of a problem to live with and you need to start over, I'll be happy to keep this rig on my desk for you while you work on the replacement project. ;)
I'm sure I could force myself to deal with it's shortcomings :yepp:
:ROTF:
hey snipe ! turned out great
check ur pms
Good job SNiiPE! Yeah those wheels are pretty awesome. Got the black one's myself and yeah saves a lot on the back when making big heavy builds. :yepp:
woah woah woah woah woah..... there are black ones? frick, why didnt anyone link me earlier lol
its ok, I dont need them and thankfully silver is one of the 3 colors in the build :D
 As if you did not know that! Heck I think someone mentioned it in this thread too somewhere. Got mine at ppcs! See....my biatch has got some wheelz! (trying to figure out if I want air shocks or not) I took the rubbers off though because it kept going to one side or the other and sometimes come right off.

@Sadasius: Mounting the res like that is really weird !! good weird though !! looking good m8
Ha you think that is weird huh....The PSU is not what it seems. It's actually a hamster on steroids running in a wheel.
Actually bleeds easily surprisingly!
But anyway this is SNiiPE's thread. Just posted the pic to show off the black wheelz of doom!
the EK res's bleed like dreams really, :) I am taking more pictures now ;)
Submitted one vote from me for MDPC, Sniipe.
Hey guys, new Background because I didn't like the quality of the last one - more photos taken today but those I cannot show ;)

Just don't understand your SLI connectors... The liquid doesn't go straight to the second card that way?? Looks really good though ;)
We've been through this a million times, it's parallel flow.

As long as the resistance is equal it will split beautifully.
Edit: Sorry if I sound a bit harsh!
very, very clean, organized, coordinated, and well executed.
I need a dose of your patience and some of your photography skills/equipment.
www.million-dollar-pc.com refreshing :D
looking forward to seeing Flow on MDPC SD
IN CRE DI BLE.
For sure one of the best build I have ever seen.
At first sight, one of the things you need is black wheels instead of silver ones.
Thankyo Voigts, My patience certainly ran thin near the end of this build but luckily I was able to hold on :D
those affairs are being put in order, I am just corresponding with Nils this weekend
Cheers Osterman, I may get the black wheels, but not for photos - how they are now is how they will forever be. ;)
hehe, well I took some photos today with the 35mm f2 and I have decided to post them - there are still some beautiful shots yet to be unveiled.

Thanks for the updates, S_D! I'm anxious to see the full case views and see your build in all its glory. Nice job, and glad you worked through all the hardware issues.
Simply breathtaking snipe.
Loved reading this log. Creative stuff =]
Lovely!
not much to say that hasn't already been said so here goes:
wow...:shocked::clap: absolutely breathtaking...
holy :banana::banana::banana: ! I just rolled over all 43 pages and all i can say is  ! those wires are awesome. great project, i already have your wallpaper set up.
If these r the pics you're posting in the LOG, I can't wait for those on MDPC :D
Laine, thanks a lot for your answer ;)
And thank you also Snipe for your help on the Molex things, forgot to thank you sorry :(
Aha, and as usual... fantastic shots! The one showing the top of the case is absolutely marvellous (both the shot and the case!). :)
 You have even better ones for MDPC?
Simply outstanding. I think you need to get a locking display case to house this in at your dorm room. :yepp:
Sniipe, what are the two holes to the left of the top "FLOW" cutout?
Through the top of the case? Unusual.
Yeah... well maybe unusual but that's that ;)
http://lian-li.com/v2/en/product/pro...s_index=61&g=t
In case if you want to put the rad on the top, thing that you won't do on such a beautiful case...
Hehe, yeah the holes in the top of the case were rather unavoidable  I figured the best way to suppress them was to just have them powder coated into the chassis, that is that the powder has pretty much sealed them in there and covered up the screws mostly :)
looks great Snipe
the rear came out great :yepp: & all the other little details disappeared as well - NICE JOB!
i think we could use a few more pics :D
Yeah, they don't look too bad painted over. It's unfortunate they're there because it would look a little cleaner without them, but alas, there was nothing you could do.
The etching on the top is beautiful. I'm guessing you just used a single blue acrylic sheet as the underlay? Looks great.
If you mean video, absolutely. The other one you shot was sweet, and I think a new one based on the completed build is in order. :)Quote:
how about a few thousand more pictures? possibly strung together in a fast changing sequence to give the pictures life? in HD quality you say?
Bah! Those pics are awful SNiiPE, go back and take some more. I see dust on the granite, smudges on the CPU bracket, the USB cover doesn't color match the rest of the case and the screws up top and on the CPU should have been button heads. :p: :cord:
bah, there is dust on the granite -_- I didnt even see it before, that shot is easy, I'll fix it. I like cap head screws :p:
reshot with no dust  replaced in OP
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/8964/...terior6448.jpg
:eek::clap::shocked: .....
Just bustin on ya SNiiPE. ;) Honestly, I'm surprised Nils or Charles haven't done so yet.:stick:
good job on the reflection on the granite slab for the image
Nice pics ..... love the "Flow" over head shot the best
I'd love to see the studio setup up also to see how you shot these pics...
Just so gorgeous Sniipe, such inspirational stuff. :) So inspiring I have the same motherboard, CPU and video card (almost) lol :D
I wish Crucial would sponsor me too, I have their ram in Pegasus, and another 6gb would be given a lovely home ;) You didn't even use yours hey? Shame.
I have seen the black wheels, but I think the silver ones look nice.
I havent gotten my ram from crucial yet.... seems they didnt ship it or something
Congrats on completing the build Ian!
Stunning photos as always Mate - I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got planned next. :)
Awww...
Crucial, where is the ram!
wow... two whole days and nothing new... by anybody! :p::lol2:
:D yeah its been quiet over here...
I just set up the system and reinstalled the OS tonight, everything is working great
The video is finished, I'll see if I can get it uploaded tomorrow before I leave for a few days (I'll be away from home, but I will have my laptop ;))
sweet! Flow is really a beautiful pc. i'd stare at it for hours if only i had the time.
Sniipe, the best thing of the FLOW is rings on PCI-E power - I love that bunch of blue cables. You should patent this :D
top panel looks awesome as well!
good job
TBH, the best thing about flow is the originality of the 24 pin. I just love it. I kinda feel like doing it with Pegasus now :)
XS as a whole has been slow lately. Could it be summer vacations?
You pulled out all the stops on this build SD, I'm going to be interested on what you come up with for the next build. :yepp:
wow... they're already looking for another build S_D... Do you EVER get to enjoy your builds?
In short, no
I actually do have a new build in mind, but I need to dedicate about two months to drawing it up in solidworks. What I will say about it is that its an entirely new concept in computer design and it is going to be the mother of all (my) projects - will take me at least 6 months maybe more to build the thing once I get the parts made.... maybe I will start in in 2010, not sure yet.
Wow, what sou say really looks amazing!!! An entirely new concept you say? There you already have some fantastic concepts, can't imagine better than this for now :p:
Then I'm waiting for your project! ;)
An incredible worklog @SNiiPE_DoGG, congratulations.
snipe get my pm ?
temps for flow - only 1 gpu as the other is out for RMA, but this is the baseline. CPU @ 3.6ghz 1.41v Prime Blend - vga @ 950mhz (not loaded)
http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/3048/flowtemp1.png
I just had a quick look over this log and all I can say is that this mod has a way of making any modder feel inadequate. Absolutely amazing job.
EDIT:
One question - what brand are the SLI fittings that you used?
jeez. i need to get a waterblock for my 4890. those temps are ridiculous compared to my idle 50+
Due to my fraternity room construction project this took longer to get up than anticipated, but its all here, top video is the one I have already posted, bottom video is the Final Build video!
http://dennishelmar.com/flow/
SWWEEEETTT! :D Loving it so much Sniipe!
Great video, awesome build, kick ass.
Snipe, great vid :)
What were you using to shoot it? I know some are pictures, but others looked as if you had you DSLR Hooked up to the computer using the shoot utility(Can't remember the correct name). But how did you record video of that:? I may just be assuming incorrectly.
my dad shot the video, I just have feature photos interspersed :) He used the 5dmkII which has full high def video capabilities.
hmmmnnnn ... having trouble downloading the new video. Will try again after a reboot (on a 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro with 4GB of mem ... shouldn't be an issue). And, I'm old school - prefer static pics so I can stare at them a while - I know, just wait for the unveiling :p:
Thanks snipe. I forgot the 5dII had video.
kind of wish my 50d had something along those lines. No worries though.
