most likely you need to increase your vcore...i think 480 FSB at 1.36 vcore is doing darn well!
what is your vmem set at...i don't see that setting in the above post.
I cant get past 480mhz either.
This new bios seems ok. Fixes some quirks I guess....didn't give me a single mhz more on the FSB. Oh well :( My high hopes were unreasonable I guess.

vmem is 2.3v I tried vcore up to 1.425v and no go. Not even 1mhz more.
if that is bios setting versus actual setting then you are only getting about 1.38v for real!...there is about .04v undershot in actual voltage from what the bios is set....under load, in windows, the vcore will drop even more...my experience is about .02-.03v drop under load.Quote:

you can try up to 1.5v actual voltage...you might have to push the other voltages up to support higher FSB, like: MCH, CPU vtt, DDR, DDr2 vtt and ICHIO.

you have porblems with onboard lan?
had a problem with the onboard lan too after a failed Overc tried to fix it by doing few things and nothing so i put a Lan card , not sure if the onboard is working now , its been awhile
That happens to me too when I fail at a high fsb oc. I shutdown the pc and turn off the psu until the motherboard has no power then turn it back on and everything is fine every time.Quote:

if you can't run 3 sticks maybe take it down to 2 sticks to see if that helps....if it does not then the overclock is probably excessive or you do not have enough voltage being suppled to support the overclock.

na this board takes alot of vmch for some reason, usually from what ive scene need 1.6 in bios for 500 sometimes 1.55 will get it but not to stable
and the cpu vtt also needed to get to 1.4 on mine
it stands to reason if you stress the memory controller hub with higher memory speed, you will most likely need higher vmch....NOW...how much all depends on your board, memory and cpu.
Guess I won't give up on my quad gt just yet then. Is the stock cooling enough for 1.6v mch though? I really don't want to burn anything up for a few extra mhz.Quote:

i am averaging 40-45C at idle in a case...without my fan tied to the PWM cooler, it would be in the 50's for a quad core...it does help...a 40 mm turning-blowing at 6.7k does help!...when i prime all 4 cores, you should see the temps double up...if it were not for the fan, they would be in the 125C category.
I've spent about 4 hrs messing around with voltage settings in uguru to see what is limiting my oc. I gradually lowered a voltage at a time until the system would fail orthos. I found I was able to lower all my voltages but mch. At 470fsb I could not drop my mch below 1.6v or orthos would crash imediately. I may do a vmch mod or get a 6420 with 8x multi. Was hoping to hit 500fsb though, my cpu and ram can do it.

this 6.7k is not a screamer like the delta fans were...this is only 15 or 18 mm thick...but...it produces enough air flow to take the heat away.
any news on this new bios? what does it fix?
i tried the beta bios and it was the same results for me as far as overclocking (actually, 420 fsb was not as stable for me)...i had no other problems for me to be fixed.

the memory seemed the same but that is for me...boards are different from owner to owner just like memory can be.
