does quadgt have 1333 strap ?
It's not up on abit servers yet any idea when it will be available?
thank you!
This is a bootable dos CD for the 11 BIOS final. Remember do not flash in Windows :nono:
Just burn the ISO and boot from it everything else is self explanatory :fact:
QuadGT11.zip
By the way this bios is identical to the earlier one a posted wich was a relabeled B08
CRC32 was the same value.
then, it won't make any difference to my quad core (Q6600)...i'll expect the same limits as i have now.
I just did my RAID 0 setup with no problem at all using the intel chip and win xp pro 64bit
running B6R bios
just wanted to let u guys know
i think vista is the OS that gives users trouble when it comes to raid.
really?
asus says that a bios they support 1333fsb
guys im looking to test the speed of my raid system what do u guys use for that?
there is HDTach and another one...can't remember right now...i will find it and post back here.
EDIT:...i found it...it is called HD Tune...probably the best of all around:

BIG thank u guys
Hey guys,
I am having trouble booting at 480fsb into windows. I tried setting mch:1.65 ich:1.6 cpuvtt:1.4 ddr2:2.3 @ 5-5-5-15 1:1 and cpu @ 1.36v I don't think it is the cpu because I even tried the 6x multi @ 480 a speed I know the cpu will run and still locks up at windows boot screen. cpu temp is 25c idle system 25c idle pwm avg 42c idle. Any ideas? Is it my board or my ram won't run that high at 1:1?:(
most likely you need to increase your vcore...i think 480 FSB at 1.36 vcore is doing darn well!
what is your vmem set at...i don't see that setting in the above post.
I cant get past 480mhz either.
This new bios seems ok. Fixes some quirks I guess....didn't give me a single mhz more on the FSB. Oh well :( My high hopes were unreasonable I guess.
-Collin-
vmem is 2.3v I tried vcore up to 1.425v and no go. Not even 1mhz more.
if that is bios setting versus actual setting then you are only getting about 1.38v for real!...there is about .04v undershot in actual voltage from what the bios is set....under load, in windows, the vcore will drop even more...my experience is about .02-.03v drop under load.
thanks, what is a safe max voltage on this cpu if my max temp at load now is between 33-35c?
you can try up to 1.5v actual voltage...you might have to push the other voltages up to support higher FSB, like: MCH, CPU vtt, DDR, DDr2 vtt and ICHIO.

Just for infomation purposes:-
The links to the ftp servers for downloading the Bios ID: 11 (Latest Official Bios) have now all been fixed:- So basically if you go onto this website clicking on the Asia/Europe/US now works http://www2.abit.com.tw/page/uk/moth...pPRODINFO=BIOS I sent the webmaster a couple of e-mails.
The following directory on the ftp servers will hopefully be removed bios/qb9quadgt/ as that was the typo error directory it was created to in error.
Hope that makes sense.
any improve on the memory department with new bios? please tell me yes :)
None what-so-ever for me. I still can't pass around 530mhz and I KNOW my ram is capable of more. :(
-Collin-
EDIT: They this bios adds "Enhanced overclocking" and I have found no such luck. Where as before on the beta bios, 450x8 was completely stable, it now freezes as my windows is loading. I am extremely frustrated with this board. Maybe I got a bad one? I see people hitting 500fsb no problem and I cannot, for the LIFE of me, get near that. I've tried upping all available voltage options in bios with no luck. I know damn well my ram can do 500fsb. I know damn well my processor can do 3.6ghz. It is just so frustrating that a motherboard is what ALWAYS holds back my overclock.
I'm buying the DFI. Enough with this piece of junk. At least I know DFI engineers are working hard to make overclocking motherboards, not boards that disappoint. Hell, my USB ports don't even work on this board. Thumbs up Abit.

Just installed my new G.Skill BHZ memory. Hope I can get over 480 now.

seemed a lil slow maybe unstable :( the suicide run did
grwwww:mad: still can't get past 480fsb! vcore 1.475 mch 1.7 ichio 1.7 I should have stuck with Asus.
hey guys figured i would post my stable (so far) setting using the B08 bios, havnt tried the new released version yet

Shouldn't need but 1.65V at the most to go reach 500fsb.

426hemi: I have problems passing 500MHz so you are not alone... :( When setting 500MHz I usually get bluescreen after 5-10 seconds, 498MHz FSB is very stable though:
http://www.myllan.nu/foto/albums/use...mal_236854.JPG
Also, I cannot read temps lower than zero. How do I solve that? Guess waiting for a new BIOS...
im able to do 515FSB and some times i can do 525 (depending on mobo mood :) )
here
Well, I tried the Noctua and the HR-05 chipset coolers now. They gave me maybe 15-20MHz stable higher FSB. 498MHz is still max. :( With stock cooler I was limited @ ~480-485MHz stable.
520fsb
What NB-cooling do you use? (you might have written it before but my internet is slow I do not have petience to search. ;) )
does anyone's bios still say v1.x(10) in cpuz when using the new official bios?

Wow!
My CPU is holding me back now. I looking for a Retail CPU because a ES CPU is not so fast as a Retail .
Wow O_o 565

didnt take too long messing with the ram timings and voltages and stuff, just wanted to see what this cpu could do for a quick run at high volts
Our AquaMark-results are very simulair. You have 501MHz FSB, I have 498MHz FSB and you get a few hundred points more. ;)
As usual, cooling for your NB? I am getting frustrated about that I cannot run for example 6*500MHz with my Noctua on the NB... It sure seems to do it works but I only earned 15-20MHz FSB compared with stock NB-cooler. :( I have almost same voltages as you but atm I have 1.84vMCH, that sould be enough for 500MHz FSB though...(?)
Here a 32Pi with standart cooling on NB with a Fan !

Ok, thanks. Either something is not 100% ok with my board or I am doing something wrong. ;)
hi guys , with new 11 bios my onboard lan dessapears at second or third POST
i't's normal?
I am using the official 11 bios but in cpuz it shows it as version 1.x(bios:10)
What bios are you using?
Guys, has anyone here had an issue with running a PCI video card in this board? I get a "2d" hang on boot and it just sits there with a black screen.
I use the latest(?) beta-bios. I think I read somewhere that they are the same bios so I did not upgrade.
I just did a test with dryice on the NB. I gained another 5-7MHz FSB, not more. Atm moment I think my CPU need LN2 to be able to handle higher FSB. I know it can cause I have had it way over 500MHz with LN2 on another board.
I ran out of ice so I could not try the Kentsfield this time. :(
blossa can you post a iso bios of this beta bios?
you have porblems with onboard lan?
had a problem with the onboard lan too after a failed Overc tried to fix it by doing few things and nothing so i put a Lan card , not sure if the onboard is working now , its been awhile
man i hope abit adds more ram settings in the next bios release cant run 3x1GB 100% stable now = (
if you can't run 3 sticks maybe take it down to 2 sticks to see if that helps....if it does not then the overclock is probably excessive or you do not have enough voltage being suppled to support the overclock.
2 sticks have been running fine for a few weeks but found a 1024MB stick of crucial ram with D9GMH for 90$ = ) but cant get them stable together without pushing alot of volts or running real loose timings around 2.35v but with some more settings im sure they would do better.
Might try flashing the crucial stick with teamgroup spd.
I have never used LAN on that board. :D
This is where I got the BIOS from:
http://forum.abit-usa.com/showpost.p...0&postcount=89
I tried some overclocking with uguru in windows under one of the user settings so my default bios wouldn't get screwed up if the oc failed. what I found is that at 470fsb I can boot into windows and am orthos stable 8hrs, however if I jump to 477fsb everything is ok until I run memtest. It fails immediately. I have my memory at 4-4-4-12 2.3v in bios. I believe my memory is keeping me from going on. I thought the g.skill 6400 BHZ's were micron d9's? thought they could do ddr2 1000 no prob?
na this board takes alot of vmch for some reason, usually from what ive scene need 1.6 in bios for 500 sometimes 1.55 will get it but not to stable
and the cpu vtt also needed to get to 1.4 on mine
it stands to reason if you stress the memory controller hub with higher memory speed, you will most likely need higher vmch....NOW...how much all depends on your board, memory and cpu.
u might want to keep an eye on ur PWM temps. Those will hover around 100 during load at like 3.8.
AB9 QuadGT - V1.3 Beta 1 - 04/19/2007 http://www.lvcoyote.com/M621E_13.B01.zip
on the cooling i took the stock off and put as5 on the NB area
for the pwm area i cut the little plastic from teh corners and put the little black squares back on (if you take it off youllknow what im talking about) then i put as5 on the pwm guys and put everything back on
its alot cooler, my pwms didnt go above 60c with a 4.0ghz oc on it
but of course...you have it in a case.
i am averaging 40-45C at idle in a case...without my fan tied to the PWM cooler, it would be in the 50's for a quad core...it does help...a 40 mm turning-blowing at 6.7k does help!...when i prime all 4 cores, you should see the temps double up...if it were not for the fan, they would be in the 125C category.
I've spent about 4 hrs messing around with voltage settings in uguru to see what is limiting my oc. I gradually lowered a voltage at a time until the system would fail orthos. I found I was able to lower all my voltages but mch. At 470fsb I could not drop my mch below 1.6v or orthos would crash imediately. I may do a vmch mod or get a 6420 with 8x multi. Was hoping to hit 500fsb though, my cpu and ram can do it.
this 6.7k is not a screamer like the delta fans were...this is only 15 or 18 mm thick...but...it produces enough air flow to take the heat away.
any news on this new bios? what does it fix?
i tried the beta bios and it was the same results for me as far as overclocking (actually, 420 fsb was not as stable for me)...i had no other problems for me to be fixed.
That's dissapointing:( No changes in memory area or vmch?
the memory seemed the same but that is for me...boards are different from owner to owner just like memory can be.
I would like to see those ram sub-timings appear in the coming BIOS :)

Did anybody try D9 Fatbody on QuadGT (2x1GB) ??
Is the Vdroop mod needed ?
Is the Vich and Vtt mod usefull ?
Is this a safe board to get for overclocking my e6300 with 4x 1gb corsair 6400c4?
I am a tad confused. Where have you fellows been applying Arctic Silver 5? The area under the copper heat sink in the picture below, or the area under the black plastic strip?
http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/4534/pwmbo2.jpg
I have a QuadGT incoming for my E6320. I plan on using some AS5 or AS thermal adhesive on it as needed and wanted to clear up the exact problem area.
