EIST works fine when you overclock, and there's no reason not to use it that I'm aware of. Why would I want my CPU running at 3.6GHz when it's doing nothing?Quote:

This is untrue. The Intel SATA controller is on the DS3. It's not the RAID version, but it's the Intel SATA controller. You don't need drivers for it.Quote:
ok guys i've said this many times and most people overlook it so i'll throw it out there one more time.
the S3 and DS3 does not use the intel SATA controller nor the intel SATA/AHCI controller. i am not so sure that the DS4 does either.
you will know it uses it when you have to install INTEL.. let me repeat that INTEL ahci drivers. neither the S3 and DS3 do that. you have to install the JMICRON drivers. lets say that again. J M I C R O N drivers.
if you have to install the jmicron drivers on the DS4 and DQ6 then guess what your not using the intel SATA/RAID/AHCI controller either.
The JMICRON controller is also on the DS3.
RC2 bites get the Pre-RTM build... it's nice. Other then that rich you can buy some uv paint and take your case apart and meticulously paint every component, and trace in your pc a diff color then install uv lights. Without the light the paint is invisible, very cool mod.
Any word on new f8 beta?
Another week and then some gone by and still no word on letting us test a D9 fix?
Yeah, I already have my vista ultimate fund ready. R600 fund is already filled to the brim :)
yeah but thats the problem 700mb.... where are you going to buy 2x 350mb sticks of ram. That means pretty much everyone is going to need 1Gb just to start (you have to round up b/c of the size of sticks & dual channel mode).Quote:

And they don't have 2x1.5Gb sticks or 4x750Gb sticks.

anyways the whole point was that he said intel SATA/AHCI and if you have used this board then you know that the very minute you move over to AHCI you MUST use the purple slots and guess what the purple slots are... JMICRON,, not INTEL.
no where in your device manager unless i am totally blind will you find an intel sata controller.
and pc makers are like many of us if it aint broke dont fix it, other wise many times it fixes one thing and just breaks 2 others.
just like the new bios.... oops i've said too much!
Lestat (or anyone) - what was you experience with F7? Any improvement seen as far as FSB headroom? I'm sitting around 445, anything higher gives me BSOD.
Thanks :)
Hmm... I want new D9 fixed BIOS, looks like this CPU needs it

This is with GA-965P-S3 C1 board + L627A E6300 + Teamgroup 2Gb DDR667 3-4-4-8 D9GMH! I just now started to test this configuration :) Ow and BTW it is Intel Boxed cooler with AS5 :stick:
i did a test and on 1gb of ram vista only took 450mb. Like EVERY windows OS the more you make availiable to it the more it uses...
what is the exact problem with D9?
Where's that much anticapted new BIOS?
Take a look at this link:Quote:

According to Ed Bott, Microsoft has changed the license terms for the retail versions of Windows Vista.
“You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You may not do so to share this license between devices.”
For full details check out the link.
Now where's that damn BIOS?

infact the opposite.
the F8a bios's are screwed up.(that came from a confidential source, but i backed it up with a very noticeable loss in overclock)
personally i havent gotten any improvements since the F7beta
and whats this ES Fused @ XE Beta program
whats the skinny with that ?
IM GUNNA ASK YOU GUYS ONE MORE FRIGGIN TIME.
GROW UP WITH THE VISTA vs XP TALK.
THERE ARE ALREADY FORUMS DEDICATED TO THAT TYPE OF CRAP.
GO DEBATE IT ELSE WHERE.
I WILL NOT HAVE THIS THREAD CLOSED BECAUSE IT's GETTING LOADED UP WITH BULLSH|T LIKE THAT, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS FORUMS SUBJECT!
Just curious if there has been a "D9-safe" bios released for the DS3. I see lots of beta bios' available but I haven't heard any results. Anyone get past 975MHz with D9's? I'm stuck at 962MHz 4-4-4-16 2.1V on crucial 10th anniv sticks. Changing timings/adding volts doesn't do anything :(
Lestat: funny you should be talking about growing up while posting on the forums.. your about the most hot headed egotistical know-it-all I have ever seen on any board. Noone is going to close this forum for talking off topic, if that was a danger then this topic would have been killed ages ago.
Detonator: The D9 problem is that on Micron D9 chips there is a wall that only exists on certain boards, we have been waiting for a bios for ages that fixes this.
Ken or hamm any news on where giga is on these lists.. not a time frame but are they even acknowledging that these issues exist?
Dude, this thread has become more informative than some websites. :toast: Sound card issues, RAID issues, OS issues...let's talk G80...I'm so down for rocking Oblivion. :DQuote:

They will be out in December, might slide into January.Quote:
