Hmm 0401 is running really well, and I got a chance to play with a Intial release bios, 0201 i think it was. Some old features, and a real vdroop :P
Anyways, 0401 is running very stable, haven't tested yet on OCCT or otheros, I started switching bios because my Sweet spot became unstable on 0701. But 0401, I don't notice any memory timings differences, because I'm still getting a 9400 MB/s in everest. CPU temps are DEAD ON, matches CoreTemps and Everest to the tee.
I jumped back to 0505. Temps were too ridiculas w/ 0701.
Check my post in http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co....php?p=2900772 I got this mobo solid on 500FSB daily for 3 weeks as 3.5GHz @ 500x7 and fine tuning @ 500x8 for my E6750. I now want to get more RAM bandwidth.
Went back to 0505, washed my hands of 0701 - The performance for me is terrible, my ram likes 0505 much better.
0505 for me has higher memory performance and lower latency according to Everest with my current settings, with 0701 too much had to be turned off. Hope they release something worth a damn in upcoming.
Man I can't boot past 400 FSB. I tried settin my VCore to 1.500 and upping my PLL to 1.66 and giving my FSB Term a little bump.....still no POST. This sucks......I guess I need to wait for a better BIOS or try one of the earlier ones....
Who is running0701 with an FSB over 400?
Yea I guess I can be content with 400x9. I would rather run 450x8 for the bandwidth boost, but no biggie. I'm not the biggest on benchmarking, and I dont' think an extra~400Mb/s would make much of a difference in games...

Ok, i'm at hair pulling stage. I have Bios 0701. I have my E6550 2.33ghz @ 2.8ghz using a 400x7(max multiplier) and memory equals at 800mhz(Kingston 800mhz 2x1GB).
As soon as I start to push up to anything higher than 405FSB, it won't boot. Have I maxed out? If not, how do I push it higher using the Maximus Formula??

I have found lots of other forums where people have got it over 3.2ghz but not with a Maximus Formula... I am missing something really simple here!
Yeah, it seems 400x9 has been the sweet spot for my x6800. Anything higher on a 9 multiplier takes a crap load of voltage, even 415x9, and I don't want to drop down to an 8 multi. I've been able to hit this mark on every board I've owned so far.
I'm just looking to increase bandwidth and tweak the timmings more on my RAM. I should have my new Mushkin's tomorrow so, hopefully, I'll be able to hit 1150-1200MHz w/ reasonable timmings.

It corrected all memory allocation issues, the stress algorithm is the final also I think for now
Had exactly same issue on my P5B deluxe. I monitored the vcore with speedfan, and in OCCT RAM, it will fall progressively, and after 2h, it will drop till a crash. Problem solved with active cooling of mosfets here.
So, in your case, it looks like the Maximus PWM for the RAM are too hot, so get less efficient, hence your RAM droop after a while. You'll need a good ventilation of your motherboard parts/case, or drop your RAM timings/voltage
Has anyone here recorded their results with changing the NB voltages incrementally?
I'm wondering why most people seem to be using 1.61v when it overvolts. My NB voltages have been able to stay consistently low even when I've been raising the FSB.
The majority of stability seems to be coming from CPU voltages rather than anything else.
I'm going to try and see how low I can keep my NB voltages tonight when I get back from work.
np, nLite is great, just extract the floppy version of the Intel Matrix Storage 7.8 drivers and use WinImage to extract the Floppy image, or alternatively just double click the image and write it to a floppy.
With nLite, you just need to add a new driver/component, browse to the extracted Intel Matrix Storage driver and specify either iaStor.inf (for RAID) or iaAHCI.inf (for AHCI non-RAID).
Apply the changes and burn away :)
I did this last night with vLite for my custom ASUS OEM Vista Ultimate and everything worked without a hitch!

I'm not sure if this will help with your Mushkin, but it might, so to give you a rough guide, my Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1066 was able to hit:
Primary Info : 4-4-4-9-3-25-5-3
Secondary Info: 7-3-5-4-5-4-5
DRAM voltage was at 2.16v, max rated voltage for the ram is 2.2v but it can cope with 2.3v max 24/7 if you have at least one fan on your side panel cooling the ambient temps.
If I run it a 2.3v I can bring it down to 4-4-4-8-3-20-5-3, but I don't think it is entirely 100% stable, might need a tiny tiny bit more voltage, not going to risk it though, the board overvolts it enough for me to worry.
Just been looking through some sig's to see what is the fastest memory people have with their Maximus Formula. Fastest I can see here is what TouGe has, DDR2-1150 (PC2 9200) but what will the board actually take up too?
I can also see loads of you have 800mhz memory overclocked but I can't seem to get mine over 800mhz.
Thanks for the info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed here. I've come across plenty of threads where Mushkin's PC2-8500 have hit 1100MHz+ on P35 boards. So, 1150-1200MHz shouldn't be too much to ask for eah:shrug:. I'll find out shortly, ~3hours until delivery:up:.
What all have you tried? Post your settings and maybe I or someone else here...uhm...cough...leeghoofd...cough...could help you out.
newest stable clock... lowered the NB and FSBV a bit. i'll be trying lower voltages and maybe tighter RAM timings... then, i want 4.0 stable. can't seem to figure that one out though. maybe warboy will get it first so i can steal his settings again! :D :up:
Great OC, some more people like this one, OCCT stable, and I'll jump for a Maximus board too. Just a question, your OCCT custom settings are in RAM mode? Also, what's your cooling solution for CPU and NB?
Yes, move it all right to 1024Mb. Seems not much, but it puts system on the knees so much more than blend in prime95
I've decided to retest all my parts. CPU, ram, motherboard, all independantly. So far I'm @ 3.1GHz with 1.23v on the Quad 'g0'... Then I'll test motherboard/max FSB with lowest voltages and then the ram...
I didn't really think I'd need to with the new board, seeing as I knew the max for my parts, but apparently this board is so different a complete retest is in order!

CPU is using the stuff listed in my sig. NB is just air cooled for the moment. i'll be water cooling it when i get my new vid cards and add them to the loop. most likely will reseat the NB block also with mx-2.
