A bigtower is defninitely better -yes, triple radiator is better than double, that I have - not mentioning the CF or SLI -I think you need two independent circuits then :)

The Opteron 170 CCBBE 0610DPMW doesn't seem to be any better than any other CCBBE chip. Infact it wouldn't do 2.8ghz @ default vcore prime stable like the 0617, nor would it do 2.9ghz @ 1.4vcore like the 0617 either. Currently I have it priming @ 2850mhz 1.4vcore + 104% in bios. I'm pretty sure it can do better @ this voltage so I'm just gonna burn it in there for now.
***Update, one core failed prime after 5hrs 16 minutes. Currently priming @ 2.8ghz 1.35vcore + 104% in bios***
Fingers crossed for you nemesis.
update on my snail-mailed ccbbe's: No sign yet :( ordered on the 12th. going to chase it up today
ouch...sorry to hear, man.
i'm out of CCBBEs. I have 1 CCB1E 0609 FPAW (iirc) and a few LCB1E 0619 3800+'s
dave
So far 8 hours prime stable 2.8 ghz 1.35vcore 1.35v+104% in bios. Its fluctuating between 1.344 & 1.360v during prime though. Chip seems typical of any CCBBE stepping, nothing spectacular so definitely not a better buy than a 165 unless your motherboard is HTT limited. Anyway I'm probably gonna find the sweet spot of this chip & then sell it instead of the 165 0617 CCBBE:D

This is driving me insane! I can't get rid of this CCBBE. I put it up here for a week. And just ended my 2nd round on eBay. I guess there is no interest in good Opterons anymore? Everyone go to AM2?
I think most are holding out for Conroe Core 2 Duo. I think the E6600 is going to cost about the same as good stepping dual core optys. I'm gonna try to unload all but one of my dual cores myself & grab Conroe in time for Quakecon here in Texas.:DQuote:

BTW, why are you holding a DDR466 RAM at 162 MHz?

I'm actually thinking of it - just want a dual Conroe mobo ;-) Seems I'll have to go dual S771 :(
so i got my CCBBE 0617FPMW today and its a BEAST!
did some quick priming:
2.7 @ stock ran for 30 mins fine so i upped it...
2.75 @ stock ran for 30 mins so i upped it..
priming 2.8 @ stock now for about 15 mins. gonna let it run for a couple hours and see how it goes. this chip is definately better then my 0610DPMW already.
glad to see you finally got over your major hurdles blazin :)
that 0610 must have been a dud
well, it performed just as well as my CCB1E so it wasnt a dud, but i was expecting stellar results like the rest of the CCBBE 0610 owners.Quote:

The 0617 really does need to be added to the dbase. Mine did 2835 mhz on stock volts which is 1.31v!!! She did 2.9ghz on 1.4v and 2970 on 1.47v. Thus far the best chip I've owned. Have fun Blazin:banana:Quote:

off topic: just got back from Pearland/Houston TX and DAYUM is it hot there! i dont see how you can keep a decent OC without watercooling there.
he did. i think he's telling me to get off my lazy ass and update it. :p:Quote:

think i found the limit on stock volts already. 311 HTT runs fine, but 312 dies after 6 mins of prime.
i'll try and update the DB tonight. i have to go back and find all the updates that people sent me in PM, and on various forums :-\
I hit 315HTT 8 hours prime stable @ 1.31vcore, but I'm on water. Yes, its very warm here in Texas, but it's not hot yet. We're experiencing a mild summer so far. Not very many days over 100'F yet:D
Hey blazin where did u get the CCBBE 0617?
I'm in toronto too.
As for my CCB1E 0609FPMW I put on some new coolaboratory liquid pro thermal paste and it seems like i'm getting some better clocks now. Managed to do 2.85Ghz with 1.42vcore instead of 1.45
My 0610 does 2800@1.31 as well , 2950@1,43V 2900@1,41 V , but it looks for 3G more VCore d be needed.
BTW , I ve sent my results to itznfb couple of days ago as well.. ;)
well, i updated the db, and since photobucket sucks, it resizes the image to the point where you can't read it. so.... yea. i have a new link to the db screen shot here. http://show.imagehosting.us/show/142...-1_1427475.jpg
i'll have to figure out a more permanent way to do this though.
I just reinstalled windows, and I haven't tweaked it all out or anything yet, just have a few things running in the background, and it seems to be a sure thing so far. My CCBBE, which I've had a lot of trouble with, seems to like my DDR400 RAM with tight timings. I'm @ 2850 with 1.4V in bios, and it's doing great so far. The only :banana::banana::banana:ed up thing is that with the reinstall, my mobo suddenly doesn't want to boot up windows with my raid configuration... Sigh.
i buy opteron 170 ccbwe 0550upmw
