any ideas?
Sounds like someone is telling porkies to me? The only cab2e chips available so far we've seen are the 144's, all current 146's are coming cabye. And if it's booting with a 9x multiplier then it would seem it's a 144. You checked on the chip itself, or have a pic before you installed it?Quote:

If the highest multiplier in bios is a 9, you got a 144. Did it say 146 on IHS? Try the DFI 623 bios.Quote:

Where do you buy your CAB2E processors? Is it only CPUCITY who has em' ?
nope, they are from cpu city. Mine is on the way.
I have to say i'm wishing that I had a 146 CABYE looking at the results others are getting with them..
Just crossing my fingers that the CAB2E is as good or nearly. Knowing my luck it will be poor tho.
cab2es are at cpucity
screenies  :DQuote:

Any UK guys got a 146 from Scan yet? Sorry if it's already been posted, cba to read through 88 pages :p

Interesting... a guy on OCUK received his 146 and it also defaults to a 9x multi (1800mhz) and will not let him select 10x...
Yeah I saw that, he still got a sweet overclock though :D probably just a BIOS issue?

Straight in at 300x9 1.35v was perfectly stable, I'm currently trying to work through some issues with my Neo2 not handling the high HTTs before I go much higher than that. Had a POST at 333x9 (3GHz w00t!) but it crashed at DMI. This is all with a TDX running off a single BIX, Neo2 and GSkill LE.
I also appear to have lost my 1T/2T setting in BIOS, I'm on 1.37b so it should be unhidden but it isn't...just gonna go try the shift-F2 alt-F3 wizardry (it'd been so long I forgot how) and see if it's disappeared off to there, but TBH I'm a bit confused on that one. Where'd it go?
Is that immediately before Windows loads? You're running XP SP2 right?Quote:

That will turn off DEP, which caused all sorts of problems with high HTT on my Venice 3000 and DFI Ultra D. For some people, it lifts a magic brick wall, for others it does nothing. Worth a try...
Jimbo, can I quickly ask what DEP is?
Dynamic Execution Prevention. It's some sort of additional virus-protection in the OS.Quote:

I think it was a guy called Sharp from DFI forums that pinpointed it after I tried 2k, XP, XP SP1, XP SP2 and XP SP2 safe mode.
XP SP2 was the ONLY one where I couldn't get over 2.5 Ghz. In all the others, I could boot into Windows @ 2.9 Ghz. It would just lock before loading Windows when DEP was enabled.
Weird.
Jimbo can you not just turn off DEP from the System Properties window or does that not have the same effect?
Cheers,
Suman
No, it's immediately before UBCD loads, and I'm running Win2k. Good info though, one to watch out for ;)Quote:

Not the same.Quote:

If it has no effect, you can always change the switch back again, it's not a reinstall or anything. I leave it off all the time on my gaming rig now. It's just another variable for me I'd rather eliminate straight off the bat.
