Just to echo the P1 & P2 disabled, I couldn't get passed 1808 until I disabled P1 and P2, I didn't really see much difference in Everest benchmarks or SuperPi with both disabled.

Lol, I "solved" the boot issue. The customer already had one Seagate ES 500GB disk that he wanted to attach to his new comp.
So I added the drive and just for the heck of it set the Seagate to #1 in the HDD boot list. Guess what.. the VR Raid 0 with Vista on it, now in 2nd position, boots up fine, without any delays or errors (since the Seagate doesn't contain any OS).
If I change the priority back to the Raid array being #1 I get "boot disk error" again, perfectly replacable. I cleared CMOS several times and even reflashed 1002, so no OC problem and no corrupt bios
Neither ideal nor logical solution, but it works. Better than having to leave Vista in ur drive.
By the way, I'm running 1700/2000 unlinked with a Q9550 at 3,6Ghz and 2x2GB CSX Diablo, P1 & P2 enabled (needs 1,54V Vnb bios and good cooling though, water through Fuzion block + MX-2 under the hood in my case).
Sadly I had to RMA the last Diablo D9GTS kit I got, as it couldn't do more than 1600 C7 without errors. CSX rep said their last batch of GTS evidently contained some bad samples and they were out of stock on Micron-based Diablos, so I had to use some Samsung for quick replacement.
They run 2000 at 1,9V for sure, CL10-9-9-24 kinda sucks tho
Quick question.
Just switched to a Q9650, upped vcore alittle, and started prime95,
failure is in the form of reboot. no red individual core failures, just reboot.
Has anyone run into this and how did you solve it.
Very strange and repetable.
Interesting. If I disable P1 and P2 I get <9,000 read and >69ns latency. With them enabled, I get almost 12,000 read and <50ns latency.
Anyway, at <9,000 and >69ns, I passed 3 or 4 passes of memtest, and over 4 hours prime. Sorry, no screenshot, just popped the circuit breaker before I could save it. It won't do 1800/1800 at the following voltages, but this is where I'm at now:
BIOS - 1002 non-beta:
1780 QDR
1780 DDR3
Unlinked
8-8-8-24-2t-all sub-timings on auto
P1 - Disabled
P2 - Disabled
Vcore - 1.325
LLC - disabled
PLL - 1.54
VTT - 1.3
Mem - 1.86
NB - 1.4
SB - 1.55
Not mentioned - Auto
Now I just gotta get the speed back.:D
Here.
I just found the new 1103 bios will pass memtest at 1800 for me if I let it set the main mem timings on auto. Auto @ 1800 linked and synced it sets it to 9-10-10 26 2T. Memtest bandwith is lower than my 1702 settings at 7-7-7-22 2T
so I see no benefit but it's the first time i have been able to pass memtest @ 1800 with any settings.
Trigger, can you please post your BIOS settings/voltages and version for 7-7-7-22-2t?
Thanks.
my Q6600 @ 3.5Ghz the vcore is low 1.38 but the VTT and PLL are big
VTT 1.38
PLL 1.62
work 48hours prime95 all fine
try VTT 1.3 1.34 1.36 freeze even in stock speed  my E8500 too
Q6600
but when i move from x9 multi to x8 and boot in 3.8Ghz work fine with only VTT 1.28  but the temp are too high the v-core voltage goes to 1.48 will try when the water cooling solution come in 30 days
and this loadline calibration is that bug when i fix 1.45 vcore and when the loadline calibration is enable the evereset says the vcore is 1.5
Same thing is happening to me.I had 4 raptors(raptor Xs) in Raid 0 and I was having problems getting the board powered up inside the case(the lights would just blink after I press the button and the fans spin for a second and the board was powering itself down).Every thing was working fine and I thought the mobo was dead again. I disconnected everything, took it outsode the case to debug the problem and guess what the board powers up fine, but it's not booting into XP.I get the "Boot disk failure" message even though all the HDDs are connected and recongnized in BIOS. I was cussing and thought I would have to reinstall XP, popped in the XP disk(DVD drive was already the first in the boot order), it came up with the message "Press any key to boot from CD" message. I don't press any key and BAM boots right into XP. Very wierd to say the least . This is with 0901 Bios.
These are my settings on my E8600 if anybody needs it

It is also almost 6 hours prime stable.

I also did intel burn test(50 times) which I dont have screen shot of.
new nvidia drivers out 15.23
Thanks tekjunkie and Trigger5521 for the settings:up:
I'll give 'em a shot over the next couple days....really can't wait to get outta' work now:D
I'm really having a hard time with mine....since the spring....:shakes:
Side thought: I was somewhat concerned and now I'm relieved....my "CPU Level up" field in BIOS disappeared a long time ago (don't remember which rev. bios killed it) but, I see both you guys' is missing too....not that I used it, just that it was weird, one day I just noticed it missing.
@Erikz: Another side thought: I got a Q6600 doing 450 x 8 on a 680i Striker for over a year now....just a hunch, but I would think you should be able to do something similar on 790i.
Hi,
I am new to this forum and have been reading through the various threads relating to the Striker II Extreme.
I have been trying to overclock my rig but have not had much success, I first tried these settings;
Upon booting into Windows it bluescreened so I upped the CPU Voltage to 1.4 volts. Again did the same when booting into Windows, I then dropped the multiplier to 9 it got to the logon screen I put in my password and as the Windows loading sound went to play it bluescreened.Code:Extreme Tweaker

I have run Memtest for a few hours and on ever pass it was successful even with the recommended memory timings.
CoreTemp shows the VID as 1.2375v.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks!
Hmm. never paid attention to it. Also, I was able to reduce the Vspp to 1.42 and did a prime run of 9 hours no problem. Next is to see how much low of a PLL I can go

What are the NB temps like on this with a quad core
i briefly had a Striker II Formula but the NB idled at 65c and went into the 80s under prime with a Q6600
im hoping the S2E wont be as bad as that
Help needed.
I have this configuration in my gaming PC
Asus Striker-II-Extreme nF-790i
Intel Core2 Duo E8500 3.16Ghz
Corsair Twin3X 2048MB DDR3 1600Mhz PC-12800 Twin Pack (2x 1024mb
Gigabyte GeForce GTX280 1GB DDR3 PCI-E x16 video card,
2 of 150Gb Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM SATA Hard Drive, in raid config
Cyber-Sport 1000W GamePWR PSU,
For the first 4 months it ran without a hitch using default settings, now I get random freezes, mainly when the system is idle - but can happen anytime, even when I am staring at the bios screen. Was originally on Bios 0704, I have tried 0901 and 1002 - same behaviour.
What information would i need to post for someone to give me some advice on how to diagnose this?
thanks in advance
I seem to have found some stability at 450 with multiplier at 9.
Seems to be running sweet!
