wish i had your experience;
re-flashed again, from 907 to 1004, and still a no go. cmos error, with settings manually entered.
Can i use asusupdate in Vista x64 ? And 1004 works for SE versions right ??
Can P5E do it
so why cant it work the other way if u can flash to a rampage then why not back to a maximus since it would just need to rereplace the code
Already flashed to 1004 now with asusupdate and it works fine. Now the ½ multi showing to :) Need to buy an USB-memory for EZ-flash later
Nice one :D
However, too bad all those X38 boards usually are not so good or suck for high fsb  So the only benefit I see from doing this would be to get straight Performance Level control in bios (without all the mess trying to figure out the default PL value for certain strap/fsb combinations offset by Transaction Booster) as well as additional memory tweaking options, which itself are very nice indeed :)
Would be really interesting to check maximum stable FSB on a quadcore with this bios. It will show if it's the maximus bios that s**ks or it is the PCB design
I think you could tighten your timings. I´m running my 8GB at 1100MHz CL 5-5-3-13-52-4-3 and tRRD = 1. With only 1.95v :)
Btw join in and post your results http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=179555
Out of curiosity, what does that khan /sp "Rampage Formula" dos command do after the bios has been flashed and reflashed?
Apart from tRFC values what else has changed?
Great find though as there's no way back tooooooo risky for me... moving on to X48 with DDR3 ...
I search perso who add SLIC Table on this Bios 1004, anyone could help me please ?:)
I think that with same procedure you can flash back dmi/bios/etc to maximus formula again. Have you tried that?
What is that SLIC?
Moving from 1.7Vnb to 1.825Vnb on the Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 ( "X48" chipset ) allowed me to run SuperPi 32M at PL6 when with 1.7Vnb best I could do was 8.
The same thing ( more NB voltage helps with PL ) applies to X38/P35/P45.
As long as you can keep the chipset cool, 1.8V-1.85V will be fine.
Anyone have tried the rampage mod ?
been lurking here for a while, picked up some great advice. just changed from q6600 to qx9650, and having real trouble clocking it.
was on bios 901 and could clock the q6600 to 4.2 no trouble at all ran all day at 3.9. now the qx9650, i can only get it to just over 4.0 any more and i get an overclocking fail wont even boot to windows.
tried bios 903 same thing, and all diff multiplers and setting i could think of, do i have the only low clocking chip around:(
any idea which is the best bios for this chip or any tips to get the best out of it?
thank you.
I've been thinking, surely this same method can be used to turn a P5E into a Rampage too? Or at worst, a Maximus?
