Thanks for the feedback guys guess I'll just chalk it up as another mysterious DFI board thing.

Hi guys,
I ordered an Opteron 165 today, I had the choice from the following batch:
1434904C60590
143483AC60051
143483AC60242
I took the 904. That's a good choice right?
By the way, they all are: CCBBE 0610 DPMW.
Did I make the right choice? ;)
i don't know why people argue this, there have been countless threads about how DFI boards read 10c lower. especially when your temps are about 10c lower than everyone elses, and you somehow beleive you have this magic chip that runs super cool.Quote:

My chip runs cool with ~1.35volts yes, when i run my chip with ~1.45v or higher I reach ~50c easy.
Before this chip i had an 3800X2 and a Msi k8n neo2. Then i swiched the neo2 with an Ultra-d. Temps readings where the same on both boards ( maby ~1-2 difference ). So i know 100% sure these temps are correct.
Or maby do you think my temp sensor, the Msi neo2 and my ultra-d all read temps 10c wrong ;) ?
43c full load with a 0610 on a Z9500? haha. your ambient must be about 18c?
just installed my w/cing
this is a CCB1E 0609 from newegg
I have same chip(CCBBE 0610/thanks Dave) and cooler(Zalman 9500) on my Gruper which has a dedicated cpu temp chip not a multi sensor chip like DFI or others. This chip is the LM90 which is highly accurate. I can't speak for his DFI temps but with a ambient of 26-27c my cpu is 41c dual prime load. The Zalman cooler really works well for air.Quote:

Never had a BT so I can't do a comparison. I can only give you my experience. If you say I am 5-10c lower than a BT I would have to argue that the Zalman does work as well as a BT.Quote:

HHawk the 1434904C60XX will be the best!!!
904 rules.
Thank you mate. ;)Quote:

Sure I could have hit 3GHz, but I knew it was being sold so i didn't really push it. watercooled :)Quote:

there are some vcores that causes the computer to suddenly freeze while in windows, then sometimes while rebooting after setting bios, the com just shuts down as if i pushed the power button.
and just now, after rebooting, 2 blue bars suddenly appeared on the sides and remained there. i had to reboot again before i could boot up properly again.

oh my god that's sick man. 3gigs w/ just 1.376v is awesome. watercooled, right?Quote:

I hope that with the new dfi board coming next week i'll be able to reach at least 2.8 with vcore default..
I got my CCBBE 0617 and right now im sitting at 2.9GHz @ 1.41v im going to try for 3GHz this upcoming weekend.
what was your max stable default vcore. Mine failed prime after 7 hours @2835 mhz 315HTT(Trying 2826mhz now 314HHT). I like to find my max oc @ default vcore first, then max oc, then best oc with low temps (sweet spot). I'm thinking the sweet spot is going to be around 2900-2975 @1.4-1.45vcore.Quote:

After i got it stable at 2900 @ 1.41v i started dropping the voltage. It just happened to come out that 1.41 was what was needed to run at 2900. Right now im idling 31c under water, it could be lower but i have high ambient in the summer time because my computer sits on an outside wall.
