Well I had a last run with the CCB1E 0608MPMW, it will be run at 3Ghz@1.425 until someone buys it. (hint hint asian :rolleyes: ) Single core for me until Conroe is here

bah...i already ordered another CCBBE from that ebay guy so im awaiting the results of that chip. i think i would need wc-ing to get another CCB1E. they run hotter then the other optys ive owned.
highest mine can do is 2.91ghz @ 1.475v

Send them an email complaining etc. You will more than likely get a response from a guy name kevin pretty quick. They are suppose to be overnighting me another one that will be here tomorow so we'll see. I went ahead and bought another one, 165 CCBBE for $275 today. They have several 1 day auctions for 165's @ $275 & 170's @ $355. If you ask for the ccbbe stepping they say okay but since no one has actually received their chip who knows. I guess I'll be first if they really do overnight the 170 today. I'm not gonna pay for the 165 until I have the 170 tomorrow and I requested overnight shipping on it as well.Quote:

is your IHS on? when i run 1.5+ volts my temp jumps to around 50c+. i think my wc setup is bad or poor IHS contact. its a maze4 w/ 2 radiator on it.Quote:

I can get my Opty 170 CCB1E 0550VPMW to 295 x 10 but my memory is holding me back at 260-265.
Teecee: if your memory is holding you back use a divider. it shouldn't affect your performance much.
i havn't heard anything either... emailed them just now after finally checking my tracking number (nearly a week after recieving it) and it not being registered with usps... we'll see where this goes, had a bad run with ebay of late and i've already used a paypal buyer protection claim... think you only get 3 a year?Quote:

i think it has been an issue with the DFI Expert. it can vary between different BIOS's as well. when i installed the 704-2BTA and 406 for my ultra-d, it automatically lowered my cpu temp -8c so when i booted into windows i was idling at 20c!!
i then realized it was too good to be true so i went into the bios and changed it back to AUTO under the PC HEALTH menu.
don't know if i agree with this. my old SLI-DR reports temps 8-10 degrees higher than my new Ultra-D, so if it's true, my load temp would be 38+~8 = ~46c.Quote:

do you have the heatspreader on or off?
Can anyone explain why I would have a 6 degree C difference in idle temps by changing from yellow to orange memory slots on this board? All my settings are idententical except I get 6 more mhz memory speed in the orange slots.:confused:
IHS is still on, i'm thinking about removing it. I'm on watercooling. Would 10 degrees make a lot of difference in OC'ing?Quote:
