Im gona disable lan 1 cause lan 1 doesnt work when i plug my internet on it , not sure if its suppost to do that.
Should i disable this before installing windows or after? cause if i remeber correct the first time i disabled before installing windows i was not able to install the drivers for it.

thanks for all the tips!

so far i've gotten my chip stable at 9x423=~3800 no mods.

i've been trying for 8 x 475 but keep getting BSOD.

i'm gonna give it another try tonight. then might go for vmods! :)

As i wrote 3 times now:

To get your drives to show up as IDE, NOT SCSI, then use the standard windows driver instead of the Jmicron driver.

Has anyone got two pci-e graphic cards working in non-crossfire mode? I need to have three monitor setup, but I'm having troubles with the secondary pci-e x16 slot. My primary card is Asus x1950pro and I have tried Geforce 6200 and Ati x300 as my secondary. Geforce was found, but every time I installed it's drivers, x1950pro stopped working. I assumed the problem is a driver conflict, because they were using different drivers. So, I got x300. But x300 isn't even showing up on windows. I know the card works, because if I put it in the primary slot, it works perfectly. I'm thinking the problem is probably the fact that the secondary pci-e x16 slot is working in x4 mode. The manual says that not all the graphic cards will work in that mode. But which ones do?

Can I get that x300 somehow working in that secondary slot or what kind of secondary card do I need?

I device manager choose update driver, choose "no, not now" on ext option, next option choose to install driver manually, next option: "dont search, i will decide", and then choose standard windows driver.

@pillar,

perhaps try testing the 2nd x16 slot on its own, I just had my Aug batch mobo replaced cos of a bad 2nd x16 slot - wouldn't even POST on its own and the system freezes if I tried to install any drivers when using 2 cards.

The replacement Nov. batch mobo worked fine with 2 cards and would POST with a single card in the 2nd x16 slot too.

Hi to everybody!
I just finish reading allmost every post on this forum and i can tell that the 1x PCI-e problem can be also a video card incompatibility problem( i say this becouse are users who don't have this problem nomatter settings they are using) and in allmost every case this can be solved by setting MCH volt to1,45 or PCI-E Freq to something >100Mhz(is up to u wich freq u chose becouse not in all cases the problem dissapears at certain freq) but remember
keep it below 120 because not every card can hold this freq...

The same happened to me, except one of the other mosfet close to that one burned up. Just RMA it.

you have to have identical cards for CF or SLI.

brand doesn't matter but two identical cards.

x1950pro + x1950pro or geforce6200 + geforce 6200

It really doesn't matter when you disable it, its best to disable before you install windows since then windows doesn't install devices in "Device Manager" for stuff you aren't using(less clutter this way, not that it matters much). That one port is just the marvell yukon and driver install worked perfect, get the newest ones from Asus, the ones from cd are ancient!

You probably didn't, since he's not trying to get it to work in CF. ;) He's just trying to use more than two monitors and for that you need two graphics cards. It should be possible with the P5B DLX.

Can people with no x1 issue post their bios settings:

I have a 7900GT @ working X16 ,:)

pci e= 100MHz

voltages:
Vcore= 1.5000
Vnb (is that mch?)= 1.45
Vdimm= 2.15
VSB=1.6
Vich= 1.057
vFSB=1.3V

I suggest you guys try these settings/voltages to fix x1 .

Can you try to put the vmch (vnb) at 1.55 and verify if your 7900 is still at X16!

For me at 1.45, all is ok but if i drop to 1.55->crash

i think it's more an hardware aspect and Asus will perhaps release new revision of p5b

it's not related to vmch in my case
all voltages stock and the problem is still here
I tried every frequencies between 95 and 120MHz for the pcie and it's a no go :/

im runing 400 FSb all voltages AUTO (beside vcore and vdim )

x1 issue with my previous x1900xt hapens every time i restart computer , with x1950xt only hapens if CPU crash (not stable)

AUTO is not good because you dont know what voltages the board gets. please try and see if your board posts 400FSB @ 1,45V MCH (NB).

I have 400FSB:
1,55V MCH(NB)
2,45V VDIMM
minimum VSB
minimum vich
minimum vFSB

i cant post at 400FSB and 1,45V MCH, but it does look stable at 1,55V.
I have X1900XT 256MB and I haven't seen a single pcie 1X state for now. With the older P5b Deluxe (that died) I got 1X constantly, but the new one looks a lot different- no pcie 1X AT ALL!
