vdrop on my ud7 with a 965 is kinda big, I had to bump it to 1.475 on bios so it idles on 1.488 and on load drops to 1.422, that's the only way I can keep my system stable or else it drops under 1.4 and causes instability.
well you just have to compensate of the vdroop, it doesn't bother temperatures for me, plus idle vcore isn't that big of a deal.
My 1090T drops according to CPU-Z from stock 1.3V to 1.288 under full load. Not a big issue here :)
YO!!! great to see ya back! i think ill be getting the same board you just got and i also just got some g.skill 2133c8 sticks getting ready for BD ;) got a 1090t & 1100t here if you want to play with one of them for awhile, you have to torture thuban  they are both vg chips
I was thinking of putting together a cheap AM3+ rig.
Is the UD3 worth it? I know the bios ATM is not the best.
I wanted an all black scheme.
Edit: only 2 way sli/crossifre! WHY! :(
UD3 16x/16x Crossfire/SLI
UD5 16x/8x/8x Crossfire/SLI
UD7 8x/8x/8x/8x Crossfire/SLI
Cant complain for UD3 having "only" Two-way 16x/16x Crossfire/SLI-
Got a UD3, and a AII x2 to hold me over. Too bad this heatwave is preventing me from getting over 3.4.
yea mean i agree with that heat wave, i am in VA and we are under extreme heat watch under tomorrow, i can't even go outside. But heck i just turned up the AC so my OCing is being good! hahaha
UD5 does 16x/16x when using two cards as well. its 8x with three. Should have my Mobo up soon. Im liking the lay out and the new color shceme . Well 1.61v on the 555 like always ahould be no prob!
Searched through the thread but nobody seems to have a 970A-UD3. Seems to be the perfect candidate for those that do not need to have Crossfire support. VRM section seems much more robust than the Asus M5A97 EVO board
Am i the only one who has a huge vid spike when under load?
Something I have noticed with my UD7 is that when I OC and get BSOD to many times. My system isn't stable at stock speeds anymore. The conclusion I have come up with is that the BSOD and general system instability is corrupting the BIOS. To fix it, I reflash the BIOS and everything is OCable again and stable. I've had to do this proly 4 or 5 times now.
Any suggestions? Or is this just Gigabytes flaky BIOS showing it's teeth?
at stock the BIOS is set to use the turbo function and change vcore from 1.375 to 1.475 at stock, maybe that is what you are seeing?
here are some VRm o-scope tests to keep you guys busy!
These are scope shots of max ripple spike and average ripple spike that is pass/fail, it shows us how much of the time the spikes occurred during the given time slot. Very good stable performance. over 120-100mv ripple is where one should start to worry. overclocked 80mv-100mv is acceptable. Stock 30-80mv is acceptable. These are at stock. This is vantage CPU test 2, VERy crazy on the VRm since loads are changing 24/7 there is almost not constant loading so we get these transients, no matter what board. Their height(Vpp) Peak 2 peak measures noise and ripple. More goodies to come in the real review! just wanted to give you guys a sneak peak.
