Just got mine up & running, so far so good...
I just updated my stock bios today to 0531 and had the IROG firmware update go smoothly. I mean who knows if this guy had borked memory settings or a bad stick, or tried with a giant OC.
One thing I did notice is it took quite awhile for the reboot to take place and the firmware update to start, then all went well.
Sound good to my ears , would like to hear from others to . As you push the bclk further Lee if you hit a wall try bumping the pcie 100 up a bit to further your bclk . Thanks for the your findings so far , appreciate it . Have a good buddy selling his older stuff and is buying my R2E and i7 920 off of me so I may be most likely buying a R3E .
Anyone have BIOS 0046 dated 4/14/2010?
I'm in desperate need of a better Bios, been struggling to go past 210 bclck on a 980X and 920 that can do >225 on my RIIE.
Any help will be appreciated...I would really like to give Asus a positive review here...http://www.overclockers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=642394
newest beta is 0601 dated on 07.05.2010
its an internal beta
VTT/QPI Load-Line Calibration is set to OFF by default. I would recommend people to manually enable it, as from using a multimeter, the VDrop on the unmodified VTT is around 0.05V, and the VDroop is another 0.05V again. So under load the real VTT value is actually around 0.1V less then what you set in BIOS. With the VTT/QUI LLC enabled, the VDrop is +.004V, and VDroop is -.005V compared to what is set in BIOS.

mmm what's so great about it then in your screenshot ? Seems pretty average to me :D
It allowed me to OC another 3 x 21 MHz.
Remains more stable
Ah great.
It's not as bad, I measured my droop on QPI with multimeter and 1.300 bios ends up with 1.260v after droop and while linxing, while 1.3500 ends up with 1.300v. I guess I won't be swapping that jumped anytime soon just for average water cooled OC.
Well... It could have been worse!
Got myself one of these beast too :D

Didn't do much testing as I got it yesterday, but crashed my car today, so not in the mood. :(
First impression is that it's much more stable and cooler than my DFI UT X58.
Is there a BIOS template, or should I make one?
BTW, would anyone share that new beta bios?
does anyone know if the swiftech MCW-NBMAX will fit? it looks like the nb heatsink is similar to rampage 2 so it should fit.
Ek said he will have limited amounts of his FB block for sale tomorrow. I plan on picking one up as I find stock cooling needs quite allot of air movement to be efficient.I even removed the heatpipe assy and cleaned off the stock TIM (which was hard as hell) and used MX-2 and washer modded it with about a 1-2C drop in temps. Proved it had great contact and the heatpipe is manufactured well at least in my case.
Not going to have much for airflow in my next build here so under water she goes. :D
0601 is now up in the OP and availible for download
@Ghostlead: Thanks for that. :)
