God, those results are quite amazing if true.

While I can hope it is real, at the same time, I'm trying to be real myself and not gonna get too hyped over a single screenshot that may or may not be fake :p:
I don't want to base anything I purchase on pre-release screens. I suggest others keep a cool head as well ;)
So @ Wprime, it's faster than the 2600K @ 4.8ghz and a bit slower than the 990X at stock speeds, according to that screenshot. Not too shabby!
well, phenom II x6 did well on wprime too and superpi is easy to excellerate.
No spuprise there, wprime scales good with cores and mem speed/timings. But results look good.
I done wprime at 3.9ghz thuban - 7.251sec(32M)
wprime 1024M - 227secs
superpi 1M - 17secs :D
SuperPi is easy to accelerate?
Look at AMD's history with SuperPi from Athlon (XP) to Phenom II...
This is a 100% increase in efficiency compared to Phenom II in SuperPi
RAM, uncore do nothing in wprime on AMD. Not sure about intel side but tuning ram for wprime doesnt gain much. ...not saying this arch cant be different
Yes AMD just upgraded x87 instructions. Got tired from being owned by Intel cpus :D
You can see HT 3.2hz

this is completely insane if those results are true
1 ghz turbo is very impressive; additionally this is only a STOCK 95W chip beating sandybridge ocd to 4.5ghz?!
imagine what the 3.2ghz base frequency 125W chip does? i smell 4ghz+ turbo and performance higher than 990x on a significantly cheaper platform (cheaper socket + dual channel + weaker pwm + less layers)
first reviews will tell the truth about real world performance in application but this looks much better than the older leaks
i smell fake btw.
Also, it would be safe to assume that during those tests chip was running at 3.8ghz all the time or most of the time with all cores, so if it is the case, then those results are not that impressive for those who do not oveclock. But in that case who would stop you from setting the multi at 19 and keep it that way all the time :)
I'm confident BD will turn out to be a good chip but I also don't trust anything coming out of Rumorpedia.
you missed the most important part: "if true"
i don't really trust this screen, the cpu-z screen lacks cache info despite supporting BD according to the readme, Interlagos Support is very unlikely because it's supposed to come 1 quarter after zambezi?
maybe this screen paved the way for some other leaks :)
That's not even the top binned chip, according to the earlier slide.

No comment on the validity of the benchmarks. I can believe the WPrime ones but that SuperPi one looks too fast for me to believe.
I call BS :yepp:
It would be good to know how come there is 3.8ghz shown - is something still running?
If it was at 3.8 for the benchmarks, then the improvments in wprime could be only assosiated with the 33% cores increase. But if we remember that the turbo for all cores running supposed to be 500mhz and wprime most likely doesn' t stress the whole cpu enough to disable turbo, then it was running at 3.3ghz during those tests... and that would mean over 50% improvment.... for 33% more cores, just like promised! :O
Hm, I remember John(JF-AMD) mentioning those 500Mhz with all cores active. But he was talking about Interlagos 16cores beast. I would think desktop Zambezi chips might have more of that turbo :)
guys, if u look at this ss u can find a few obvious errors -> fake.
I just want to point out that on the same page of this thread there are polar opposite screen shots shown about it's performance... while this single screen shot is exciting I hate to see people getting hyped up about it....
this happens almost every time a new product comes out. I remember the Cayman launch and everyone speculated and hyped it up a bunch and guess what... It's no faster than a GTX 570 card... it was right where you would logically expect it to be...
it is rare that we see a launch that goes against the grain of current performance upgrade trending. the last time it really happened was with the launch of Conroe back in the day... That was a MASSIVE shift... but most of the things before than and since then have been pretty boring overall.
I don't want to be a buzzkill or anything but one of my fondest product speculation memories was the screen shot that showed up showing an R600 GPU (2900xt) scoring 30k in 3DMark06.... that was pretty funny considering the chip was slower than a 8800GTS 640MB and overall total trash...
I'm not saying I expect the same-thing to happen with BD as that would be bad news for everybody but It would be nice if FOR ONCE people did not get all reved up over a product that is over a month away from being released.... and has yet to have an half legitimate information on performance released.
Well, cpuz creator can confirm if such a version exists. And if thats true some guys at gigabyte are at big trouble its all there ...
how did they select msn + cpuz as active windows at the same time?
shadowing in the taskbar is wrong, aero peek window is odd with the popup right above it, recycle bin is covered in an odd way (hidden taskbars hide a larger proportion)
i think that it's a fake
CPU-Z creator is Franck Delattre
Facebook page here. :D
Interesting thing is if those results are actually done one 2.8Ghz... Wprime, especially the long test(1024M) is very FP heavy,so I doubt Turbo would kick in with all 8 128bit(or 4 x 256bit) FPUs running in parallel :). In most multithreaded FP workloads I don't think there is much TDP headroom,at least looking at what AMD presented in this slide:
http://regmedia.co.uk/2011/02/24/amd...ower_usage.jpg
If the scores are @ 2.8Ghz for wprime(super pi def. was at 3.8Ghz tho),then one Bulldozer's 128bit FMAC is around 30% faster, per clock, than Thuban's core. Fits nicely with rumored 10-11pts for 8C 3.5Ghz model in Cinebench 11.5,doesn't it ?
Of course this all means jack sh*t if the screenshot is fake... Which it probably is.
The legend grows as release date gets closer.
Forget about recycle bin being covered in an odd way, there are TWO recycle bins. That's of course quite easy to do (custom icons), though I don't currently have a machine with Windows 7 near me to test out Live messenger + CPU-Z to see whether you can have two windows active at once.
While that may be true, and is definitely yet another suspicious thing on that pic, don't make that a hard and fast rule. You won't believe how many PCs I've worked on where there is a recycle bin in one corner of the screen, then a shortcut the user created somewhere else on the screen for no particular reason. Same with My Computer, Documents shortcuts, etc :wth:
look at the gap between she cpu name, the speed and the "Ghz" in the system & settings and compare to your own.
But there is nothing to get excited about, the wprime results deliver exactly what has been promised over a year ago 50% more perf with 33% more cores, nothing more.
Like this perhaps?
Ok guys,if the slide is real ,then this Cbrixx guy is kinda in trouble. Guess what,he really exists and works for GB! LoL i googled and found him. He is even in one Youtube interview :p: :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFGndppXBDk
Definitely the guy from the messenger pic from the leak! He works for GB alright.
I won't go into obvious fishy details of the rumored image.
Edit:
LOL Alain Sam Lai is real also, and guess what? He works for GB too :D

Trouble indeed. :)
Well, if you found profiles of these people with no troubles, then someone who wants to fake some screenshots could find it also.
Any way, fake or not, I don't envy these guys.
If someone went through such a great lengths to actually find 2 Gigabyte employes, fake everything in the shot ,including MSN with chat history, internal CPU-z logfile(beta?,some obvious errors in spelling there ,probably by GB staff from Taiwan) ,Zambezi Windows Perf. Rating results, then kudos to the faker he did a great job! Although he wasted time finding two GB employees and perfectly faking MSN,he failed at such an easy tasks as replicating proper wording in the CPU-z.
But we have no idea how Zambezi is recognized in that beta CPU-z,do we ? :)
You guys are forgetting one thing: IPC Decreases with Bulldozer so this can't be true :P
well that was fun while it lasted.
regardless. I just want to do some cold runs again. I dont really care how it does compared to sandy bridge I just want to do some cold again. I'm ready when bulldozer is.
I wish a mod would take this thread down. its so full of crap and just makes everyone look bad. just take it all down and start it when there is actually something to talk about.
move it to the wampateers gandalfoons section. its a complete joke. Just get it out of here. its not even news anymore its the national enquirer of CNN and fox news of bulldozer threads. i'm embarrassed to even be reading this horse crap. delete the thread...please.
Its embarrassing for XS and I cant believe its gone this far.
I second such motion
eh, fake.
Roughly 18 months from now I will have earned my associate's degree. The doctorate degree will be earned in additional 7-8 years. Sky is the limit if Bulldozer will see the light of day before the end of that time period. Blizzard Entertainment's next installment of the Starcraft 2 series will be on shelves in electronics stores before Bulldozer is listed for sale at newegg.
THINK ABOUT IT, WHY DONTCHA?
dont know if i should laugh or cry
Gees, actually ive been veyr entertianed by this whole thread. I guess we could get a real screenshot and not even know if its real anymore :p:
Ill still stick to my theory, especially since every day theres new news of insider trading trial related to AMD, if AMD had a new processor that has the performance in that shot, the stock would be edging up alot already. That would be a huge game changer to me. If AMD had a processor that nearly equal to a 990X, theres way too many loose lips around all this. Its real easy.
RussC
I can't check in on XS as often as I'd like, but every time I come into check on any news on BD, it seems the page count went up a few pages of RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE. I was kind of hoping the crowd this place drew was going to be above that, that we're ultimately about the performance of what we have inside our cases and being curious as to the performance of others within the community. It's like this great giant rift that blinds some people to some silly allegiance to where they placed their money and see nothing more.
Can't believe that screenshot is reliable, cuz there's too much "new" information on it, such as the CPUZ, the logo, the gigabyte board, etc. The superpi@1M result is too optimistic.
BTW, this site, rumorpedia, also leaked an internal Zambezi 3DMark test long time ago, which was too optimistic, too.

EDIT:
The author update his article, for explanation:

Update:
Just to clarify few things:
It has few screenshtos merged together, hence the active windows.
MSN Chat talks about updated BIOS version which should fix readings.
DDR4 support changelog is not fur AMD Bulldozer.
^^^ Just ridiculous :shakes: ^^^
It's already known that there are BD samples in the wild, and AMD will be debuting them at Computex in June....
I've been watching this thread too, and I agree with alot of you folks, theres plenty of BS to go around, especially coming from the Intel fans!
That being said, I'm not so sure that latest SS is fake (the one hacked from GiggleByte).
Yes, the SPi time is a big step up for AMD, but it doesn't really seem that far out of line considering the new uArch.
The WPrime score doesn't seem all that impressive (depending on actual clocks), hell, I can get close to that with my OC'd 1090T....
If someone was going to fake an AWESOME BD clock, why wouldn't they just go all the way ?
Whether it's fake or not will be known with in the next few months, but BatteryOperated's statement smells of Intel fanboy to me and thats a big part of what's trashing this thread.
Just wait for the launch...
Yes, I'm waiting for Bulldozer launch....:banana3: :rehab: :D

So, just waiting again :)...Superpi was too much awesome.

Describes pretty much this thread at this point....
I'm also waiting for Bulldozer.
This thread was interesting a few weeks back, but now some days I don't even bother to read the updates.
Anyway, here is some more Bulldozer humor.
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/2...ozerresize.jpg
Do you seriously think they would say it was real, even if it was? Of course it's full denial now. :D
Regarding SuperPi, there could be two or three things going on:
1. New architecture has more similar solutions to Intel and benefits from the same optimiations.
2. FlexGPU in all it's glory, it's a theoretical 100% improvment, if all the code was FP and localy non-serial. AFAIK, high precision calculations are such workload, but I could be wrong.
3. More L2 cache helps here (doubtable)
@DarthShader: as i said before (and many others have), there r 2 many mistakes on this ss 4 it 2 be real.
While that image is almost certainly fake, it isn't worth discounting on the basis of its performance. We don't know how much, but we do know that it is more efficient per clock, supposedly, than K10 is. We've had Intel fanboys scream that it isn't since last year while JF has said clearly on more than one occasion that it is indeed faster per cycle per core. Granted, we don't have much context for that to know which kinds of workloads it is faster at if not all of them, but still.
What do you expect from a rumor thread? Results and conclusions are challenged and argued in review threads of released products why would you expect a rumor thread to be any different? It's only logical that it's much worse.
That screenshot -

Exclusive AMD Bulldozer Details From Gigabyte
Internal Usage only
I imagine they sit at workplaces in Gigabyte, one is running wPrime, other worker is preparing results in SuperPI.. :ROTF:
For "Internal Usage Only"...
Probably because at Gigabyte there is very good attitude to workers, they need to communicate each other at the lunch time, they discuss SuperPI numbers...
Yeah, otherwise what the heck they would run SuperPI?!!!
the bottomline - I don't need to even look at the details of picture to figure out that it was done for some high school student or so, just for self-appraisal
Well for comparison sake here is a sandy running at 5ghz with 26gb/sec mem band and dosnt come close to that 3.8ghz BD.If those are real then congrates to amd,you actually have something worth switching over for.
http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._1470781_n.jpg
that must be the worst sandy ever
my i7 920 at 4.1ghz does much better than that

No, good sir, I am not a fan boy.
Plainly speaking, I am not one for estimates and predicates and promises and what if's and could have been's.
"GOLLY WILBUR, DO YA THINK BULLDOZER CAN BEAT INTEL?"
It is a little hard to get excited over something that "could be."
Now, I realized before having responding to your observation my statement sounding like a fan boy, however this is not the case. I do not subscribe to the official party line. A hypothetical conversation demonstrating the "party line" or "team" mentality might read something like this:
<person named Joe q> Sony is the greatest video game console ever.
<person named Robert y> I am inclined to agree only partially. While I enjoyed games on PS1, titles offered on PS2 did not appeal to me, but I do enjoy PS3 quite a bit.
<person named Joe q> WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! you Xbox fan boy!!!
After 17 years watching AMD and Intel slide back and forth on the performance charts, predictions of high performance processor these days leaves me a little cold.
:yepp:
They run superPI and spread inside gigabyte the screenshots
With the giant text across picture: "Gigabyte technology ltd, for inner use only"
The screen shots... :ROTF:
It is sooo stupid....
The motherboard model mentioned there is in cpu-z...
If they 'd issue a document inside, they would not attach a "prove" picture, they just write model numbers, modes and so on in text document.
I do have Win 7. This is 300%:

It will be good in vantage...if it can scale up with cold:up:
Its still rare for Sandy bridge that can clock >5.75Ghz 4C/8T Vantage cpu stable:(
Specifying 7 or 8 years was and remains a completely arbitrary range.
After spending 17 years in tech, my expectations of what is[ and promises issued by AMD, Intel, nVidia, etc. are so cosmically removed from one another, that it would be very difficult indeed to disappoint me.
It might seem funny now, but on any occasion when I am not hyperventilating over the impending release of a lauded high performance product, I am promptly labeled a fan boy.
Your call for evidence is intriguing. It takes a little more than a person purportedly hiding behind an non-disclosure agreement(NDA) or screenshots of an engineering sample(es) to impress me. So far, gentlemen, none of this is exactly blowing my skirt up. Is there nothing even remotely substantial, beyond AMD's word, that Bulldozer will come out this year?
Have this thread ever gotten anywhere?
@BatteryOperated:
I cant exactly figure out what your purpose with your statements really is.... do you really doubt that we will se BD this year?
since amd really never says anything these days... just deal with it
goodness some posters here are like some bunch of whiny schoolgirls. it's like they have the right to whine because they still don't have any performance leaks and such and amd should do this or that or if they didn't they will whine more...
i don't even :shakes:
AMD says something about performance = "They're touting it, it's gonna suck!!!!"
AMD keeps quiet about performance = "They're not saying anything, it must suck!!!!!"
Whatever.
Just wait until it is released then all questions will be answered :)
I am saying it is best to wait until release of product.
I am also curious about Bulldozer. Understand after so many product hypes, so many promises, so many claims predicting gain or loss, speculation on what could be leaves a bad taste on the palette. Now, I do not have the first clue as to Bulldozer's performance. Bulldozer might well be the greatest thing since the creation of fire. Who knows? Whatever the outcome, is not better to refrain from endless speculation?
I feel the speculation is what's keeping so many interested in the upcoming products. With them being silent on it, it causes the minds of those to go into fervent overdrive and swing the pendulum wildly as to its potential performance. It's the mystery that keeps us going.
it depends on the speculation.... i personally rather read/listen the speculation/hype and decide for myself if it contains any semblance of fact as opposed to reading whether or not AMDs information/screenshots/promises impress or disappoint you (seriously lol)...
AMD seriously needs to release SOME information soon, I'm getting the itch with Z68 launching, that was the last thing I was waiting for before contemplating a SB build, I was really hoping to have heard at least SOMETHING by now, so I could decide if I was going to wait, because at this point, if I wait for BD, and it's not everything AMD wants it to be, it will be so close to SB-E I won't be able to help it but wait, and that would be lame. I'm sick of my e6600 and 975xbx garbage >_<
