The sticker says on the memo 800mhz 4-4-4-12 timings.
I refreshd the bios to 1305 and if I go into the bios and try to set the timings manually it unable to boot.
So help me what can be the problem?

yes
Are you OC'ing? Whats your FSB set at? What speed/divider are you trying to run them at?
I tried al the ways, with OC my cpu to 400fsb if I set the memo to 4-4-4-12 unable to boot but if I set 5-5-5-12 can boot and run OK.(divider 1:1)
I tried without OC so the fsb 266 4:5 div. and I got the same.

What does it say the max volts shoud be, 2.2V? Did you try that? Otherwise, I don't know.
yes I tried that also.
try 4-4-4-12-2
have you tried setting the timings in windows by memset? could helpQuote:

try setting spd timings, disabling hyperpath 3 and flashing to 1305 bios.
Also clear cmos.
all done sucessfully expect for flashing the bios- i'm getting an error loading the 1305 bios (in ezy flash ), so i will try downloading the bios 1305 with all my security setting turned off.
doing these bios downloads on my good old amd3200+754sock' damn i need another monitor
see how we go this time!

Never tried easy flash so no idea how it works. I do know you need to to rename the bios to something shorter than the default name to flash with a dos disk.Quote:

3800mhz at 1.44v under load was fine though... it could be temp related as my E6700 does get 6-8C hotter than my E6600s and my E6600 B1s never had a reboot in stressprime only failure or pass.
the problem i had with the bios was the anti-virus and firewall, i downloaded the 1305 with them turned off then copied them to floppy and had no drama that time flashing it with the ezy flash in the bios menu setup.
then i had still had the issue- so i tried reloading windows and repaired the os file, it had all my files still in there. next time i oc' i will go easy and not try to get 3.6ghz on the thing straight up, i think it was my mother board temp or the ram which caused the crash, because my cpu temps where good at around 23*c at idle- i'm using the sonic tower with the stock hs fan cut up and jammed inbetween the two banks of heat pipes(i've done a cute job of this i pared the plastic with side cutters and a razor blade left 3 appendidges that two slot into the fins and one stops it from sliding thru and it is pretty firm to locate it-awesome like it was meant to be!).
i did this because the 120mm fan that it's meant to use roars harder then a mig 29 engine over u.s airspace(trying to beat that 'cold as a witches tit' cliche' lol).
so these things arent as simple as a amd gigabyte overclock set up with the auto-restore, but they dam over clock alot more i now will leave it a 3.2gig for awhile).
thanks lawry for your advise as it was getting me depressed! your quick responses activated me into a resolve.

These sudden reboots during Prime or CPUBurn load are classic vCore droop symptoms. Even though the P5W DH has a very good VRM, the vCore still bounces around as the CPU suddenly changes its current draw when programs enter/exit various loops. Usually higher vCore makes this go away, but there is a limit for each chip, and it sounds to me like you've found yours...Quote:

Olaf, try checking the front panel connectors (specifically power and reset) as you might have a bad button, also try changing the ram settings (set it at 1:1 and see how that runs for a while) some people have been having issues with OCZ's pc6400.

I'm wondering a few things... First: I can't seem to OC past 3.25, could this be a cheap memory thing?
And, What on EARTH is Hyper Path 3 and does it make any difference AND is there a way to leave it on when you push FSB past 300?
Wow interesting testing today. I decided to raise the vcore to 1.625 and it actually ran SP 1M @ 424 x 9! It seems that all it needed was more power. Although this is not for 24/7 use but I was happy to break that 420 wall.
i was wondering how do you lower your multiplier on the p5w-dh-d? or can i only use the 9x multiplier?
sorry for the noob question. tried searching but i couldnt find a good answer help pls
Does any1 could show me a screen of right settings of pll setup window in clockgen ??
Set vmch to 1.65v, and drop your memory to lowest speed divider, and if 3.25 is still your limit then it is likely the limit of the motherboard - I have a wall of FSB around 425.Quote:

I have had nothing but trouble with my setup lately...
Seems that these boards do not like USB devies at all... Especially keyboard mouse combo like teh Logitech MX5000 BlueTooth...
Every time I try to boot up, I get either my k/board or my mouse not working & then only after several reboots do both work ok...
I do have legacy USB Devices enabled in teh bios as having it on auto or disabled in teh bios just does not work...
My current setup is:
E6400 (8x355 2.84GHz @1.5v)
P5W DH
Corsair 6400C4 2 x 1gb
600w (no namer)
7800GTx 256MB
2 x 250GB SATA
DVD-RW/DVD-Rom...
I have followed this thread closely & am using teh 1305 bios although I have tried every other bios there is out there cept for teh 0701...
Could be a board issue with USB anyone??
My wireless usb keyboard/mouse works fine. Although I didnt plug it directly usb; I used the converter that came with it.
Hello all , Long time lurker first time poster.
I have a P5WDH DL and 2 Core 2 Duo's E6600/E6700 Both hit about the same wall on ths FSB. I have tried everything listed on page 1 along with some other random things , One question I have is what exactly is "Microcode Updation" ? Only reason I ask is because I have done testing . All testing really shows me is that with Micorcode Updation disabled Prime95 runs Stable @ a higher speed than with it enabled. Now you may call BS , but it works for me and I am not saying it actually increases system stabilty. Just maybe a fluke with Prime 95 based coding.
Also I cant believe the difference in windows stable volts and 2 instances of Prime 95 running stable. All my past chips really were close if you booted into windows , maybe one bump up.
Lastly to all the prospective buyers of this board , The Vcore drop under load is quite signifigant not to mention how much it flucuates around. I feel this leads to using more volts than are what is nessaccary to cover the lowest drop in Vcore. The board is very nice with many features and maybe the new revs have fixed this , Just sucks for the ones who have already purchased the board.
My 2 Cents
-Jared
If your setting up a Raid on the intel chip on this board the correct drivers (ICH7R) can only be made by booting from the supplied drivers disk and having a floppy ready. If you try to make the Intel Raid drivers from the interactive disk in windows it will for some unknown reason make for you the ICH8R drivers. Thanks Maverik-sg1 for telling me about this.
I"ve got a problem of the wifi card which comes with the motherboard.
It just keep disconnecting and reconnect every 5mins...
Can someone help me out with this plz?
I´ve got weird problem.
My Asus P5W DH powers off suddenly when overclocked.
Nothing seems to be overheating.
Anyone else? What might be fix?
Did same thing with my old P4 630 if I OC´d it over 3.7GHz.
Bios is latest 1305.
Might it be PSU related?
Now I´m testing FSB 360MHz with Orthos and everything is stable..
Damn hot, Coretemp says 74C and Asus Probe says 54C.

Hi, I need some help about what RAM I should buy for this mobo. I have to add that the RAM is the most important part of my pc build for the tasks it is going to be built for (not for gaming).
I was thinking on the next Brands and Speeds (Ill need 4 GB):
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory
Model:F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory
Model:F2-6400CL3D-2GBGA
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory
Model:TWIN2X2048-6400C4PRO
About this last one, I dunno if this mobo supports epp technology or if it will help ram performance to be better.
Thank you very much for your help...
Mine did the exact same in csQuote:

Despite the title of this thread, allow me to share my experience with this board. ;)
It has been working smooth as silk since day 1. I have had absolutely ZERO problems thus far. The board has the stock cooler on (did not even change the TIM). My E6400 is cmfortably sitting at 3.2 GHz. It is Pi 32M stable at 3.44 but the chip got bloody hot and almost hit 65 C !! I backed off because I did not want to toast it. :)
I think once I move to water, I can hit 3.44 stable on the CPU. In the SS, the RAM is completely taken out of the equation. The video card is a $200 x1800xl 512Mb which I flashed to an x1800xt. I have had no problems at all with the wireless card. I game online everyday and there are no problems with lagging or the network breaking down. Simply put, I have had a super smooth experience. :woot:

Do you happen to have G.Skill 2GBHZ? because I have the exact same timings, and in bios the SPD is set to SPD enabled where it suppose to run PC800 @ 4-4-4-12Quote:

Lawrywild, here's a problem I forgot to post earlier.
CPU-Z and SpeedFan report all Vcore voltages above 1.448 as 1.213 (take a look at the overclock threads, most screen shots show 1.213V).
As usual, Everest Ultimate reports correctly.
I have this memory (only 2GB though) and it is amazingly overclockable. I'm running it at 3-3-3-12-5 at 690, but it also works well at 4-4-4-12-4 at 863.Quote:

No, these are OCZ Gold PC5300 2 x 1Gb set. I am running them at 4-4-4-15 timings. Curiously, DDR2 800 will not allow me to POST, no matter what timings or voltages. I have to reset the CMOS (which is a PITA, given the location of the CMOS battery).Quote:

Kyosen's guide shows Vdimm, Vfsb, Vdroop, but doesn't show Vcore.
Reading the voltage in the BIOS doesn't work for what I want to do,
must be read with an actual voltmeter.

Has anyone seen the "G0UAY" version of the DLX that Eva2000 featured in his thread here? Has anyone seen this revsions with the 1.85v northbridge option show up here in the U.S.? Do the new bios revisions also give the higher voltage or is that strictly specific to a newer mobo revision?
My local fry's store said they will have it by the weekend. Unfortunately they charge $299 + tax in store. It $269 @ Outpost.com which is their e-tailer but no way to know what u get going that route. Ben @ Tankguys I believe is looking for them though.Quote:

Another problem to add to the list
When i set MCH to 1.65 (since the board refuses to boot into Win with anything above 400 Fsb) , a high pitched hissing noise came from the case , probably from a capacitor or something
After that , no post for a couple of restarts , then kept crashing at loading the HDs on POST
CMOS , took out battery , back in , bla..bla.. , boot with the sata HDs unplugged , default bios settings , now it works fine again ......
Seems like this board was only good for clocking my old 930D to 4.620 24/7 stable
Sucks for C2D tho
The funny thing is that , altho it cant go above 400fsb , it allows me to manually set the Ram timings
The irony..
Just to reiterate - I have one of each revision - both say "G0UAY" - the bit you need to see is serial number 68MOAG****, not 67MOAG....Quote:
