It's decent, should be 2.8@stock and 3GHz@1.55 if you can keep temps down!

Let me know if I'm right!

anyway, just tested something-

3051@1.475, ccbbe 0610dpmw

naked+ASC=42C load
naked+liquid metal=35C load

Forgot how nice this stuff is!

wow thats nice! 7c difference!

I havent got the beste cooling, so i dont think i can run 3Ghz yet. getting a 6002 soon, that will help a bit, but needs something else than a core since i dont tolerate much noise!

I bought some of that stuff after I saw some of your other results but chickened out on using it. I see you change cpu's here & there. Does it come off okay using say nail polish remover? How did you go about spreading it when u had the IHS on? Credit card or Q-tip? Thinking of giving it a try if I ever get my 170 from ebay.

I bought mine at SVC. It's similar to mercury, but its not. Do not by anymeans get it in contact with aluminum it will cause a chemical reaction and eat it away. Google Coollaboratory Liquid Pro for more info on the product.

yeah I change alot lately. I actually have never used it on a CPU with IHS, I imagine a dot in the center would be fine for that. I've always used the naked core, and yeah q-tip actually works best. That's what I used the first time, and it worked great.. forgot about it though and I've been using a credit card since, having a much tougher time with it.

So yeah, with IHS just a drop in the center, naked put electrical tape around the core, then spread it with a q-tip.

It actually doesn't run at all, it loves to stick to itself.. so you're good there, no worries about it dripping down your pc.. plus the liquid metal is reusable

I can memtest my ram all night long on 2.45 v

does anyone know if there is any problems with to low of ram voltage like the CPU frying issue with ram overvolted to high????????

I just got my Opty 170 CCB1E 0550VPMW. I replaced a 3700+. I followed the instructions to the T about doing the dual core fix on the thread HERE. I did notice the the Opty runs about 6-8C warmer than my 3700+. If you look at my sig you will notice that I am water cooled and atm my opty is running at 38C. Now my water loop is cooling my CPU and two 7800GTX as well. When I get to around 270 x 10 my mouse and screen start to act up. Prime95 does not fail but my mouse starts moving to all of the corners and starts acting like I am right clicking on things. My screen starts flashing also. This is my first experience with a dual core CPU. I did NOT reinstall XP. I just took out my old 3700+, installed my new one with AS5, and booted, set factory bios to default, and started turning it up. I am currently running at 1.45v but Ihave tried higher with the same results.

Any ideas?

1.45v? Thats really low for DDR. Have you tried running Windows Memtest for a couple of hours?

Maybe DDR3 or DDR4? Anyway, the lowest Expert vdimm option is 2.2v. 1.45v isn't possible anyway. Even if the board is modded, DDR can't run on that.

not even that :lol: The best mhz my x1900 ddr3 will do with 1.785v is about 350-400MHz

I'm sure he meant cpu voltage though

I've heard a few people running around that voltage with UCCC, i think they were using 2.5v.

Gskill UCCC (HZ) run perfectly well on 2.5. Mine went to 270 (3-4-4-8) at that voltage.

i have a nice 0610DPMW that does ~2850 on stock vcore (1.328v), but 3000 isn't even stable on 1.5v. Shouldn't this be a breeze? I've got watercooling with triple rad, so temps are no problem.

No. That's how these things scale. They go like crazy with very little voltage and then the bottom drops out. Some are never able to reach 3.0 stable. If you're at 1.5V give it some more voltage.

3GHz isn't easy to get stable on these chips, even the best steppings like 0610DPMW. Most that are stable at 3GHz or higher are running 1.55-1.6v+. There are a small number that have hit it with a little less voltage. A lot of those you see with 1.5v or less are likely not Prime stable for any long period of time and would require the 1.55-1.6v to get there. Those seeing the best results have removed the IHS and have watercooling.

the highest voltage for my dpmw0610 on 3ghz was 1.58v and it still wasnt prime stable, not sure if it would get stable at 1.6v, but i dont even think i would want to run 1.6v. btw iam on a Scythe SCNJ-1000P Ninja PLUS heatsink.

Could not agree more :) I ve had two that were at least 3H /asked by this forum / Prime stable, however , the Vcore had to be pushed up ;)
BTW, yesterday 0610 collapsed on 3GHz when playing HL2 -so...

I ve got watercooling , but the IHS is on and it really makes the difference - when the temperature of the CPU rises, I believe that the mem controller starts to fail and bye bye stability ;)

For casual gaming I prefer 2900@1,4VCore, which is stable and the loading temps are WAY down .

dammit. im so jealous. i can only get 2650 @ 1.35v and i need 1.475-1.5v for 2.8 GHz! i no longer think its the memory. it HAS to be the chip.......right?

stock volts = load of 38c
1.5v = load of 45c

are my temps ok?

btw. has anyone recieved a chip from the ebay seller that was mentioned a few pages back? its been a week and a half and no chip, no tracking number, and no refund of the difference between his 2 auctions.
