memory is async@100MHz in bios, meaning that my random value ram stick is @224MHz :p:

dunno the stepping right now, but the CPU is from 0447. still can tell you exact stepping soon...

Just a headup while everyone's busy with their new NF4 toys, here's an update for this veteran mb:

DFI released the latest beta bios dated Jan 28 for UT Lanparty NF3, DRAM bank interleave finally made available in BIOS.

I tried myself, unbuffered memory bandwidth and memtest speed got a nice boost now. Now memtest+ with the new bios, I got higher MB/s at 265MHz than 300MHz previously with the old bios. No stability penality observed so far.

I hit 355
It depends on CPU - I had 3 and 1st did 335, 2nd 325, 3rd 355

I could boot and run Prime95 perfectly stable at 420 with my old ClawHammer, a pic is somewhere in this thread.

Now with my NewCastle, booting at 320 is a no go.

It's all about the CPU. ;)

431HTT, I remember I did a 435HTT before, but I lost the picture! :D
Did you apply suitable memory divider? HTT ratio?
There is almost no need to raise the chipset voltage too much, just +0.1V~

I have a quick question...I can't seem to find my answer here in the thread...Which SATA ports are better to use on this motherboard? 1&2 or 3&4? Right now I am using 3&4...I thought I remember reading something about an issue with 1&2 along time ago...Thanks.

I used 3-4, and disabled 1-2. I'm with you, I remebered reading something about OC issues with 1-2 but I was just looking for it and couldn't find it quickly.

I had no setup problems at all using 3-4.

Sata 1 and 2 Dont work above 240 FSB, use 3 and 4

The issue with the SATA Ports 1 and 2 is that by using them you limit your FSB to 240 in a 1:1 ratio. You can go higher using SATA ports 3 and 4.

Oh ok...well I guess I will keep using 3&4 then. But I thought there was an issue and I was right...

Please post a link or info for this bios. I visited dfi-street.com and nowhere to be found. I can't believe they enabled BI after all the complaining I used to do about not having it has a option in the bios. :toast:

Has anyone tried using 3 sticks of RAM with this mobo? If anyone has, what kind of experiences do you have? I bought 1 BH-5 (256 MB) stick (Kingston Value RAM) yesterday to operate with my 2 x 256 KHX-3200. All sticks are single-sided and BH-5.

Testing is still going on, but I thought I should ask here what to expect.

1T setting seems to be impossible, but I thought I should get reasonable FSB for my RAM. Those KHX-sticks had no problem in 24/7 use @ 240 x 10 with 3,15 V. Now that 240 seems to be unreachable, even with 2T-setting.

Any help and advise is appreciated, thanks :)

DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR - CPU Cooler X-120 or MCX6400-V

Just speccing out DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR build am unsure which is best out of these :-
Concerns :-
Thermalright XP-120 Pipes will they block DDR4 Slot or if orientated other way interfere with any capacitators.
(I notice that MSI Neo2 & 4s can't use this cooler.)

Swiftech MCX6400-V - Weight 750gm (Ex Fan) puts it way over the AMD recomendation of about 460gm (Not good for LanParties :D)

3rd option may be to bottle out & go for the Swiftech MCX64

Would appreciate feedback from anybody using either of these.

Performance of both is good XP-120 ahead on Temp/Noise
