Can't even imagine what Antilles would do

Glad i didn't jump the gun on 580.
AMD(ATI ! :p ) have make an R300 like?
In the highly unlikely scenario of 6970 being 30-40% faster then gtx 580,I will likely pick one up at launch. Not holding my breath for it,but it would be a pleasant surprise.
So you guys think that AMD were planning to make a small GPU on 32nm and they managed to squeeze it onto the 40nm process, but nvidia's next card was another large one so all they could do was tweak? If so, I imagine both sides knew exactly what was coming, and we're only surprised because we thought AMD would be forced to cut Cayman back. But in reality the scale between 40 and 32 isn't that incredible, so a small to medium 32nm chip would translate reasonable well to a large 40nm chip on a now mature process right?
I know they'd have to rework the entire thing but if you know the other team is totally screwed for an entire year because they can't make anything larger, but you've still got room and a year to convert, I think it's possible.
Ok maybe i used the wrong word there i was talking about the 6970, and my info says it is only marginally faster than 580, they did not divulge in what tests / games or anything, could very well be the case that some tests and games 580 is faster and in other 6970 is faster, NDA sucks and AMD are very strict so i understand the vagueness of what i was told. I am not saying the 6970 will kill the 580 i don't believe anything until i use it but initial source is some what credible.
So we'll be able to buy the cards but unable to read reviews for a week? :O
2GB... so not much info. Still, cool leak, bro
Hmmm... could the 5950 have 2GB as default? Why would they blank it out otherwise?
"Mansell" & "Hamilton"
I hate stupid NDA rules. Cards in stock, but no info. Stupid world....
Man.... I'd let go of an arm to get some straight Cayman info. :)
Even if it's just slightly faster than GTX580 it must be a huge downer for nV. Must be the shortest lived perf crown ever.
